I have to say that my recent experience with Always Open Towing was excellent. Billy was very helpful after an accident and went out of his way to get my car over to my repair shop quickly and totally fair price. I was nervous after reading a couple of reviews but my experience was great! Thanks Billy for your help! read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Always Towing, specifically with Kenny, the owner's oldest son. His behavior on the phone was unnecessarily argumentative, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional. The issue itself was simple: payment information was being given over the phone. The card numbers had to be repeated several times, and Kenny was still having difficulty catching them, even telling his coworker to slow down. Somehow, instead of simply handling the transaction professionally, he became frustrated and argumentative. At one point, he basically said he didn't have to take my money and could hang up. Luckily I was helping my nephew because I would have not paid nothing and paid another tow company with honor. That attitude is unacceptable when you work in a customer facing business. Customers should not have to deal with someone becoming disrespectful because they're frustrated while doing their own job. Even when a customer is difficult or there is a misunderstanding, professionalism means knowing how to communicate, control your attitude, and de-escalate a situation not make it worse. What makes this even more disappointing is that Kenny is the owner's son. Whether he realizes it or not, the way he treats customers reflects directly on his father and his little brother Clyde Jr Always Towing. Being related to the owner shouldn't mean you get to speak to customers however you want. If you don't want to dispatch, take payments, answer phones, or deal with customers all day, then customer service may not be the right job for you even if it's your father's company. A business cannot expect to grow and maintain a good reputation when customers are treated with disrespect. People deserve basic respect. You never know who you're speaking to someone's wife, daughter, mother, or niece. Watch how you speak to people. You can be firm and still be professional. Unfortunately, based on the way this situation was handled, I cannot recommend Always Towing. The lack of professionalism and customer service completely overshadowed what should have been a simple transaction. read more

Avoid at all costs!! They "accidentally" scrapped my sister's car without her permission!! It was waiting to be picked up by the insurance company. At first they tried to lie and say the insurance company already picked it up. And they were completely unapologetic that they scrapped a car in the middle of an insurance claim without anyone's permission to do so. Scary stuff! read more

1 star is generous, DO NOT let the police call this company for your tow! Our car was hit in Dorchester and the police called them for us. They towed to their property. Insurance company tells us to clean out the car so they can take possession and decide if it's a total loss or repairable. First they walked us around the lot looking for the car, then when they couldn't find it they told us the insurance company took it a week ago. Changed their story when the insurance company called them and now say they mixed it up with another vehicle and scrapped it...with our plates and belongings. Not only did the f up but they were rude to us on top of it. Run, don't walk away from this company! read more

This entity appears to be operating improperly. I was required to pay cash only to obtain my vehicle. The reason given for the tow was false, and the treceipt name does not match the business entity or the signage posted at the property. These discrepancies raise concerns about possible improper or noncompliant business practices. read more

This truck almost rammed the side of my vehicle and not just me. They were driving extremely erratically, cutting off cars and beeping at vehicles that werent driving as fast they wouldve liked. Extremely dangerous and scary. read more

Worst towing experience ever. Not only did this company damage my car, but one of their employees acted in a blatantly racist manner and threatened me, saying he'd get his mom involved--completely unprofessional and absurd. I'm shocked at how this business operates. No accountability, no respect, and zero integrity. I'm currently documenting everything and exploring further action. If you're considering using their services, stay far away. You deserve to be treated with decency--not hostility and threats. read more

"Driver Was Unprofessional and Smelled of Alcohol" I genuinely feared for my safety during this tow. The driver arrived looking disheveled and reeking of alcohol. His speech was slurred and his behavior was erratic. I asked if he was okay to drive, and he laughed it off. I had no choice but to get my vehicle towed, so I followed him in a friend's car. He was swerving the entire way. I called the company after and they acted like it was no big deal! I should've called the police, honestly. Totally unprofessional and reckless. No one should ever feel unsafe using a towing service. read more

They need to actually learn how to drive!! Driving a tow truck doesn't give you the right to eat stop signs and red lights! They are rude and will try to fight you(knowing they have no hands!) read more

This business seems to be a huge money grabbing scam preying on our community. I'm absolutely in agreement with previous poor reviews. I also cannot understand how this company is still in business. The entire business is built on unprofessionalism. I wonder if it were located in a place like Newton would they still be able to operate so carelessly. My car was damaged after an unnecessary tow from my senior mother's apartment complex. I paid 200 dollars and requested my receipt. They told me that "everything is digital now" and that I would receive it in a few minutes. I've been requesting for the past 5 days and they have not responded at all. How are they contracted and they will not even provide their contractors with appropriate records for proof of tows?! I get the feeling kickbacks are happening between this tow company and anyone who decides to keep them under contract despite the complaints of damaged vehicles, stolen vehicles, money scamming, racist remarks, and indecent propositions. The better business bureau, the City of Boston, and the IRS need to be investigating "Always Open Towing." I'm currently at the autobody shop getting my car damage inspected and fixed, and still requesting my receipt from "Always open towing." read more

I brought my 2003 Lincoln Town Car to have the fuel pump replaced. They charged me full above full price and put in a used fuel pump. picked up the car and it started stalling riding down the street. They offered to find out what the problem was and had my car an additional 2 weeks. Got the car back last night and it's barely drivable. Engine sputters while driving and its stalls out while idling. I'd stay far from this place if you like your vehicle in running condition. Every time I called for an update they said someone will call back but no one ever did. AND they stole my OBDII reader and some tools from my car. This place is trash... read more

Complete pieces of shit. Hope their business rots and fails. Illegally towed my car from my apartment complex parking lot and then charged me $160 in the lot to put it down. Illegal as fuck. Called the cops and they came and said they can't do shit either. Another instance my buddy got towed (legitimately) , we got to the tow place and they completely over charged around $180 and were complete ass holes, giving off very threatening vibes. We questioned the price and they become hostile very quickly saying "you want car back or not" etc. I've never had such a hatred towards a company but these ass holes deserves all the hate coming. They mainly work around Umass Boston campus and love to go after the students, knowing most of the students income is not very high at all. Moral of the story: Complete dickheads. I hope someone will have the will to fight back and get them shut down read more

Car was towed here after an accident, I came to clear items from the car and was asked if I had keys and to sign release. Explained I couldn't because I wasn't the owner and the lady helping me agreed that it has to be the owner. Insurance appraiser goes to check out the damage and they say the cars not there. They say it was released and that they can only give info to where it was released to the owner. So we call and ask and was told it was on the lot still so appraiser calls and told it was released the day that I came to clean the car out. So I call today and ask for documentation of this release by the owner who wasn't aware where car was let alone get there and sign release. Document can't be found what a coincidence. They can't look anything up until Monday because office is closed at 4:30 pm at ALWAYS OPEN TOWING! What a joke! read more

Car trapped in impound lot. Car was towed this morning. Called company and was informed to come at a certain time for pick up. On April 13th, my husband's car was stolen. After speaking with the police and filing a report, we were left to figure out our next steps. We eventually learned that the car was in the Always Open tow lot for 57 days, and we were being charged $35 per day for a car that we needed urgently. Neither the police nor the towing company informed us about the car's location. We even checked the mass.gov tow site regularly, but we believe the updated information on the car's whereabouts was not available until only after July 13th. There was a clear failure in properly communicating and notifying us about the situation. Furthermore, on August 1st, 2024, we arrived at the Always Open tow lot to retrieve the vehicle; the sign in the office stated that they accepted debit and cash, but the clerk at the desk then informed us that they could only accept cash. We had to leave and come back the following day (Friday - 8/2/2024) with cash. The level of frustration and unprofessional business practices from Always Open Towing should not be tolerated in this city. read more

STEER CLEAR from this company if you can. They are absolutely unreliable and they won't even make amends for that. Here is what happened to me. They were called to tow my car to get serviced and the car happened to be in the lower level of a garage. So after determining that their truck would not fit in, they still decided to get paid and have me in my other car tow the car that was stuck out of the garage. So I pretty much did part of the job that they got paid for, but hey at least we got the car out so I was grateful for it. Now, this happened on a Thursday and I gave them the key of the car to drop at destination. Well, they forgot to do that. Also, they did not tell me that they forgot to leave the keys. So I get called by the shop on Friday morning telling me that they don't have the keys, and that they called the towing company which stated that they did not have the keys --- when they absolutely did. So my car ended up sitting at the shop throughout Fri and the weekend because without the keys nothing could be done. Come Monday, I call the towing company directly first thing in the morning and learn that they indeed did have the keys. I also tell them to please go drop them before 6pm so that the car can be serviced. I also ask them to please call me if they can't for whatever reason. Nobody calls me so at 5.30 I call in to double check that they have dropped the keys. Of course they did not. And just gave me a generic excuse of being busy. Given the sequence of mistake over mistake that they had stacked up until that moment, I decide to take some time off my own work and get the keys from them myself and bring them to the shop. As I picked up the keys I explained that it was their sequence of mistakes on a job that was already paid for that caused me to having to cut my working day short. And that once again I was doing the job for them. They managed to give me some angry "apology" but of course no concrete solution for any waste of time they caused. Eventually, they asked me to leave and slammed the door of their establishment in my face. Oh right but not before they asked me to be thankful for not having lost the keys. Should I also be thankful that --- I don't know --- they did not drop my car in a ditch turning the tow? Extremely disappointing customer treatment and incredibly rude demeanor. TL;DR very unprofessional, unapologetic and rude when it comes to admitting their own mistakes; overall unreliable. read more

The owner of this establishment just makes excuses for his employee's driver behavior. Instead of being worried about erratic driving through elementary school parking lots, in the rain, while still dark out, he just says "oh he's just dropping off his daughter." Does that excuse the fact that other children are being dropped off and his driver should slow down and watch for children rather than rushing to work for his boss? Instead of making excuses for your employee's perhaps teach them safe driving - especially in parking lots designed where children will be walking across pathways. read more

You're not given a choice in the matter when your vehicle is towed involuntarily, and I do not expect it either... I get it, I screwed up and parked where I should not have. This shouldn't mean that I be subjected to sleazy proprietors who charge over the state regulated maximum. So if you happen to be unlucky and towed by this sleazy company, sorry... get ready for an incredibly poor experience. And if you have the choice, I recommend trying another company. read more

Would have gave 0 stars if possible. A pathetic sad excuse of a business. My car was unfortunately totaled and this company was called to tow it. WORKERS FROM THIS COMPANY STOLE VALUABLE ITEMS FROM MY CAR. When I tried to bring up the issue with the manager and even mentioned that there are a multitude of reviews online from others who had the SAME issue with this company. I have to thank Always Open towing for a great experience. My car died on a highway exit in a precarious position. While the state trooper who showed up stood and watched me and my daughter try to wrestle with a gas can and other fixes without offering help, Donyell from Always Open Towing showed up and instantly calmed my anxiety. He assured us, we got this, here's what's going to happen, and his kindness in a scary moment made all the difference. These monsters towed my spouse's father's van without warning after he died and wouldn't allow any of his children to see the van unless they paid $350. They said they had two hours to pay or the van would be sent to a junk yard. They finally allowed one of the siblings to see the van for only 5 minutes and charged her $108. We paid the towing ($90) and storage fee ($35/day) on a wrecked car, but when we showed up with our own equipment to take our car away, they informed us there was also a $40 fee to move the car they parked in front of ours, and get our car out on the street, but they gave us a "discount" of $20. What a bargain! $20 to get our car out. They did back it on the trailer for us as far as they could, but I'm not buying the story that they had to charge the fee because some guy hurt himself taking his license plates off his car and sued them. Furthermore, when they made out the sales slip, they charged us a $20 fuel surcharge. Their list of fees calls for a fuel surcharge for towing mileage over five or six miles. Our car was towed no more than two. They also left the number of storage days blank and the total charge blank, so my son filled in the proper amount not including the fuel surcharge and added the date. I'd love to see how they explain the math to the tow company owner. I think the guys on duty were trying to rip both of us off. I can't say they were rude, but I do think they are thieves. Maybe that's harsh. Maybe they are only extortionists. In conclusion, if you are unfortunate enough to have Always Open tow your car, they only take cash, you have to have your registration, and be prepared to pay for "extras" read more
