Our kitchen/family room wood flooring was in dire need of refinishing. We called Alva Flooring for an estimate. Within a day or so, we had an estimate. Within 2 weeks, the work was completed. It looks like new flooring was installed. The entryway tile floor was protected with a paper covering, our kitchen cabinets were protected, as well as any other exposed areas. With the high-tech equipment that is used, there is very little wood dust. Also, the clean up by Alva is excellent. I highly recommend Alva flooring if you need your hardwood floors refinished. Ezekiel and his guys did a miraculous job on our floors. We had them stain our floors and 3 sets of steps including the stair rails and risers. We had just had our interior walls and base boards painted so I appreciated the fact that they did some touch up paint after the job was complete. Ezequiel Alvarez is so professional and an artist!! We had our floors redone twice by two different contractors and after spending thousands of dollars they were an absolute mess!! I found Alva Flooring and Ezequiel had to hand scrape our floors because they are hand distressed floors and whatever the first person used on our floors created a mess for the 2nd person. Ezequiel is extremely conscientious and trustworthy, he actually redid our floors while we were on vacation. He worked on the floors for 2 weeks and when we got home they were absolutely beautiful!! We hired Alva Flooring, Ezequiel, the owner, specifically to refinish our family room hardwood floors and install new hardwood floors in our dining room which had carpet. These two rooms run together so he needed to integrate the two rooms. He and his crew did a fantastic job from beginning to end! Very conscientious, hard working and the floors look great! We have used Ezequiel with Strong Wood Floors and now Alva Flooring multiple times. The first time we stained our light pine floors a deep grey color and the job was completed in a timely and clean manner. We receive compliments on our floors all the time. More recently, we had Ezequiel come out to repair some damaged floorboards and match the stain. The floor in my house had been covered with carpet since the 1970s. The wood underneath was in good shape but needed a lot of love. Ezequiel brought the floor back to life, took his time sanding and sanding more,. He made lots of custom thresholds and other pieces matching the 1947 White Oak perfectly. I highly recommend working with Alva Flooring! We had new hardwood floors installed in our kitchen to match existing original hardwood in the rest of the house. Ezequiel and his team did an incredible job matching the finishes, it's impossible to tell the difference between the original and new floors. We also discovered a slow leak from our dishwasher after pulling up the original tile floor in the kitchen, which delayed the start of the project. Ezequiel was great about being flexible, given this change, and stopped by every day to monitor moisture levels, etc., and give us tips to speed up the process.
