Home renovation always causes challenges as family is displaced, routines disrupted, and strangers inhabit one's personal space for long periods of time. Add the pandemic to the mix and one is faced with long municipal delays, supply shortages, ridiculous escalating costs and lack of qualified contractors. Alure found and repaired a leak in our master bath and then updated the room's design as part of its restoration. They repaired the cathedral ceilings in our bedroom. Totally renovated our basement turning wasted space into functional living space. The professionals at Alure helped us with the planning, scheduling, ordering materials, completing the work, and navigating a treacherous approval process to obtain the coveted Certificates of Occupancy. Upon completion they returned and completed all open punch list items. In recent months we have heard many horror stories from friends and family trying to complete work on their house. Based on our experience, we recommend homeowners give Alure an opportunity to bid on the work. Greg Griffin and Jason Eichenbaum came through for us. read more

This company was a pleasure to work with. All the workers were respectful and cleaned up after themselves. They paid attention to make sure everything was how I wanted it and even did little side jobs for me at no extra cost. Greg Griffin is an amazing designer who can turn even a small bathroom into your dream bathroom. Sal was also an amazing project manager who always kept me up to date with the schedule and times. They were all always available for any questions or concerns I had. read more

0 STARS! STAY AWAY!!! WASTE OF TIME!! I set up an appointment for them to come to my house to give us an estimate on our kitchen remodel. They were adamant about both my husband and I being home because it would be along appointment and they would bring samples for us to see and give us a quote good for a year. We got a sitter for our two kids and 20 mins before the appointment they called to cancel. We rescheduled for the following weekend. they were supposed to be at our house at 2:00pm. By 2:15 I started to call company to find out where the sales person was. They didn't answer the phone. I was put through an automated service and left on hold for 30 mins. At 3:15 (1.5 hrs after the appt.) the salesperson finally called and said "Hi, did we have a 2:00 appointment?" He said he lost track of time and could still come but was an hour away from our house. We already had a sitter for the kids so I told him to come anyway because I just wanted a price to compare. He never came in with the samples and said he cant give me a quote just yet and he would need to call me in a few days. He was very unprofessional and they lied about the process. DO NOT USE THEM. waste of time! He said they were bought out by a larger company and it shows. He didn't seem to care or want our business and I would never recommend Alure to anyone. read more

I was willing to let this go, but Sal had to add his two cents. If he had just acknowledged the situation I would have let it go. Here we go... Sal, please tell me where I "grossly exaggerated". Every word I wrote is 100% accurate. At no time was an explanation given to me for your companies silence in returning my calls. Had someone bothered to call or text me about what Mike was going through I would have understood and waited. Here's a free business tip. If one of your employees is dealing with an emergency and can't follow up on their commitments have someone reach out to their clients and tell them. Better yet, do it yourself if you're such a concerned owner. You neglected to mention Mike only called me from the road after I posted my review. Here's a question for yo. If you feel my review is so harsh what rating would you give a company that you had a good history with who refused to return promised calls, only called after a complaint and once again stopped calling without so much as an explanation? Frankly I'm surprised you find it necessary to childishly try to insult people who make legitimate (and accurate) complaints, rather than just being an adult an accepting responsibility for you mistakes. You have my number, feel free to call if you'd like to discuss this further. I'm genuinely curious to know where you feel I exaggerated these events. read more

Jack Chapman of Alure is the absolute best. I wanted a three season room put in, and he and RJ did a beautiful job with this. This would never have been completed without these two, so I thank you both for such dedication, commitment and outstanding customer service. read more

I had very good visit with Alures sales rep., Jack Chapman yesterday morning. He was really informative and friendly. We sat for awhile discussing the products over coffee and I found him to really positively represent Alure and I am looking forward to finding a place with in our large renovation project fir their products. The metal roofs was what I was interested in and was very happy to find out that they also do windows and structural exterior work. Thanks Jack. We look forward to seeing you when our plans are solidified. Alure's products really impressed me and of coarse they have stellar reputation. Good company and a great rep! read more

What a complete disaster! I hired Alure to do a 5-day bathroom remodel for a small bathroom. This project has been going on for over a year with issue after issue after issue. The original installer did not know how to properly install tile, so there were huge gaps left between tiles in the corners of the shower. This let to a buildup of water between the tiles. The vanity was installed without being aligned to the mirror and lights, so it was off-center to the room. The walls were barely sandpapered down, so it was easy to see where the nails had been drilled in. Since the original install, there has been a leak into the basement, multiple attempts to fix the poor tile and caulking, and now, while attempting to simply replace one tile on the floor, additional tiles were destroyed that requires the toilet and vanity to be removed. Long story short: DO NOT HIRE ALURE! As soon as they get your money, you are no longer a concern for them. Complete disaster from start to finish! read more

When we bought our house we knew a kitchen remodel was in our future and after getting several estimates, we chose Alure to do the work. I liked that their process was all encompassing - you basically work with your designer to come up with the remodeling plans, choose the materials such as cabinets, tile (and much more) and then you work with a construction manager once the construction starts. It starts with having a designer come by (in our case Ken Gold who was awesome to work with) and he gives you an initial design. We wanted to expand our kitchen so we were not eligible for the 10 day kitchen program and instead did a complete custom kitchen remodel. Ken came up with some creative uses to maximize space and enlarge our kitchen to make it more functional without blowing our budget. If you like the design, you make a followup appointment to come to their showroom to finalize the design and pick out all the pieces. You also see a 3D design of it as well. I loved that the we were able to choose cabinets, tile, fixtures, countertop, and more all in one (albeit long) afternoon. Once we chose everything, we signed our contract and Alure even treated us to lunch next door at the diner. We were quoted about 2 months for our project and it took just slightly longer which wasn't too bad. Our construction manager was Joe C. who did a good job of keeping us updated on the progress of our kitchen. I'd be lying if I said no issues came up but on a renovation of this scale, we fully expected something to come up. In our case, there was a miscommunication about the type of high hats to install and we came home one day to see the absolute wrong type of lights installed. We notified Joe and eventually our lights were fixed. Other things came up but nothing that wasn't fixable. We are very happy with our new kitchen and glad we chose Alure. I'll be upfront that Alure will be more expensive than others but in our case we wanted the convenience of one company managing all aspects of the renovation - the designing, purchasing of materials, delivering materials on time, the demo, construction, cleanup etc. It would be a major headache for us to coordinate with different contractors or visit a tile store, cabinet store, plumbing store etc and coordinate everything ourselves. Alure handles all that and you are paying for that convience. To us, it was well worth it. read more

A few years ago, we went into the Alure Showroom, and met our Designer, who designed our kitchen, and a few years later our bathrooms. Perfectly done, but what really sold us, was months after our kitchen was done, a small Part in our dishwasher broke, causing a small flood. After getting the dishwasher company to pay for the work, with Alure helping us get the appropriate paperwork, they redid our kitchen. They also were responsive to all repairs based on our warrantees, and the service department was always professional. Some of our friends loved the work so much that the booked jobs with them as well. But the most amazing part of this, was we were awarded a free vacation to the Rivera Maya Mexico, at the Hard Rock Hotel. We had an amazing time, a special time with other people who booked jobs and staff from Alure. I would recommend the staff, because they did a great job, and the company because they stand by the work. read more

Save yourself a big headache and do not use Alure for your home improvement. They were the most unprofessional group of people I have ever dealt with. Sometimes not sending workers for a week. There is no way I would recommend them for any job! STAY AWAY FROM ALURE! read more

Alure is the absolute very best.I cant think there is any home improvement company that would take care of a problem that arises like they do.Alure did my kitchen two years ago and i had a leak this past saturday night and made a call to their service dept and there was someone to take my call on saturday evening.Monday morning Jenn who coordinates all the problems that arise had Greg at my house first thing Monday morning.Greg was terrific at figuring out where the leak was coming from and the whole issue was fixed within a few days.Greg was fantastic as well as Larry and i cant say enough about Jenn being able to take care of this so quickly. Alure covers you for a minimum of five years and to be able to take care of issues so quickly is remarkable in this day and age when you hear so many nightmare stories of home improvement companies.Issues will always arise when you have major construction but they are always there for you and give you peace of mind knowing everything will be taken care of. I contacted Alure for a kitchen reno and worked with designer Kenny Gold, whose design and floor plan were exactly what my 1960's kitchen needed. Kenny is a lovely who listened to my ideas and patiently guided me to achieve my goals. Originally the project was scheduled for April 2020, but unfortunately Covid came along and the project was postponed until June 20, 2021. Even with all the problems Covid created to supply and demand, Project Manager Mike Kelly did an excellent job keeping on top of material, manpower and time management. His crew came in prepared knowing exactly what had to be done. If I had a question, he responded within the day, patiently and without recrimination. I can't say enough about my team, especially with the difficulties we are still facing with Covid. I'm extremely happy with the end-result. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! In the spring, we contacted them to do a major kitchen renovation, which involved removing a wall, gutting and reframing the old kitchen and dining area, putting in and finishing a new wood floor, and installing all new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Two designers came to our home to give us a rough estimate and plan for the renovation. We told them that we had plans to go away in July, and that we were entertaining house guests the following week, so we needed the job done by the 11th. They said it could be done, and so we signed on. The following week, we went to their showroom, and what a pleasure it was to have samples of cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, etc. all in one place! We gave our designer a budget figure for what we could afford, and she spent hours with us picking out everything, and meeting our exact budget figure. After a second visit to the showroom, we had everything finalized. A few weeks later, cabinets were delivered, a demolition crew arrived to begin the work, followed by framers, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. Each time a work crew came to our house, our project manager was there to make sure all went according to plan. He coordinated everything, including working with the appliance store to arrange for timely delivery of the new refrigerator, range, and microwave we ordered. In addition, our designer came back periodically to make sure we were happy with the progress of the work, even though her work was already completed. By the beginning of July, everything began to come together, and it was beginning to look like the kitchen we dreamed of. Within a few days, the kitchen was usable, and the only major work to be done was to stain and finish the floor. After that was done, the carpenters returned to clean up our "punch list" of minor details to be completed. They did everything - and did it well - ON JULY 11! If you are looking for a company that handles and coordinates every phase of your renovation, then Alure is for you. read more

This is not a review, but a critique of Sal's responses to every poor review - He says every review that is not a 5-star review is fake news. Never happened, it wasn't us, the person who wrote the review is a liar, the person who wrote the review didn't pay for the job (doesn't matter who writes the check, payment is payment), etc. He needs to own the bad with the good - Alure did my kitchen several years ago and it was a nightmare. I have used Alure on three projects in the past so I didn't expect to have any issues. what was supposed to be a 5 week project turned into a 22 week one. Once I started calling to get answers, I discovered that the company was sold at the end of 2021. The previous owners name remained on ads etc At no time was a legitimate explanation offered for any of the delays. The communication from the initial project manager was non existent and his presence on the job was not consistent. If he had been around, perhaps the demo team would not have thrown out my appliances! He quit after about one month or so. It was never clear as to who the new project manager would be. Based on conversations I had with various tradesman, much of the confusion and lack of follow through started with the office. Shortly before the holidays a 'new project' manager was appointed and when she came for a walk through, she pointed out how much money I owed! I pointed out that they owed me work... get me an electrician to finish the job and I will give you some money! The work in my house started before labor day and did not finish until 2/3/23. I would not recommend this new 'Alure' to anyone. read more

When we first met them, they looked very professional and we really thought that we would be satisfied with their work. They started in March 2021 and told us that the kitchen would be done in about 12 weeks... well, it has been 9 months and it is still not done. Just imagine being without an oven for 9 months and having to cook with an electric cooktop for a family of 6. They also put a mismatched kitchen backsplash and we are still waiting for them to come replace it. We have to call them every day for an update or else you don't hear from them for 2 weeks. They are not very responsive and it's very frustrating. If you enjoy spending most of your time and the holidays in your basement, they are the right company for your next kitchen job! read more

We had a flood in our basement and lost almost everything down there. We contacted Alure and they were professional from start to finish. The design and estimate process was quick and painless. Mike Kuplicki and his staff were amazing to work with. They helped us work within our budget and met all of our needs. Once construction started The foreman and his crews were awesome. RUN do not walk away from this company. I only give them one star because Yelp doesn't allow zero stars. I waited almost three years after using their services in the hopes that my initial negative reaction to their work was wrong but it was right. My husband and I wanted two smallish bathroom re-done and, since we wanted to minimize the inconvenience to us, we decided to use Alure since they market themselves as 5 Day bathrooms and they do all the work themselves. Well, on day one, the first people to arrive on the job were two (very) young men who are in charge of the demolition. These two guys really enjoy their job. In fact, they enjoy it so much that they completely lose all knowledge to the collateral damage they create. They hammered the bathroom floors so enthusiastically that they knocked two of the hi-hat lighting fixtures out of my kitchen ceiling. The next guy who shows up is an electrician. No problems. He did a good job and was finished in a couple of hours. The next day, the fun really begins. When our sales rep, Rocco, gave us an estimate, the way he described the order of work, we clearly inferred that they send a "team" of Alure employees to do the work. WRONG!!! One guy showed up. I immediately called Joe Russo, the project manager, who informed me that only one person does the balance of the work. Sheetrock, replacing electrical outlets and connections, plumbing, tile work etc. I told him that I did not expect a handyman to do the work and he informed me that "Freddi" was an expert and the best they had. To make a long story short, several weeks after the bathrooms were completed, we noticed that the grout was cracking in many spots. We called the office, who informed us that "oh, this common. We'll send someone out to repair it". They did. It happened again. We complained again. Around the fourth time this happened, the repairman finally told us that the problem was that Freddi had used caulking where he should have used grouting and that was why it was cracking. After about a year, several floor tiles, as well as the saddle across the doorway, started cracking. After several attempts by Alure to repair this, the service manager finally came out and said the entire floor had to be ripped up and replaced. When the repairmen (who were clearly Alure employees) came and ripped up the floor tiles, they discovered an orange netting under the tiles. They looked at each other and both said "what the h*** is that?". This told me that, not only was Freddi an independent subcontractor handy man (as I had suspected) but he was allowed to use inferior materials to complete an Alure job. My hands are getting tired of typing so I'll just summarize this nightmare. In all, Alure has been here 8 times to repair, replace grout, tile, caulking and the bathrooms still look second rate and the grouting is still cracking. I have had to give up 11 days of my time to wait for their service people and I'm still not happy. Oh, by the way, we paid TOP MONEY ($33,000.00 for two small bathrooms) for inferior materials and second rate workmanship. read more

Alure did a fantastic job on our home. We had new siding and stone, a new window, and a new door done. The project manager, Tim Olsen, kept in touch with us the whole time; each piece of the job was performed by a different team of workers, all very polite. The job took just about exactly how long they said it would take and Tim let us know what to expect every step of the way. I recommend Alure and we will use them again if we have any more work done on our house. read more

I was promised a one day job to install 2 sliding glass doors. That was on August 24th. It is still not done. Here is the story of my disappointment. Upon install I was informed that they were missing parts and that they would return to finish the job. My neighbor was at my house for this and they took the check even though the job wasn't completed. I called a month later to see if the parts ever arrived. They then informed me that their installer was on vacation. Only one installer? They set a date to return, so I took off work to wait and see it done right. The installer arrived and told me that they didn't have the right parts, so he used my bathroom and left. Now I just got off the my project manager who pleaded with me not to write any negative reviews. I informed him that the installer should not have taken the money for the completed job when the job wasn't completed. He insists that this is a warranty issue, but how can it be a warranty issue when the job is incomplete? On a previous call I was promised credit. Today that is not the case. Be careful with this company and make sure that the job is COMPLETE before paying them. I will gladly change this review if I am compensated for my aggravation and completion of this job. read more

I got an estimate from Alure several years ago for a small floating deck to be installed over my existing patio. Alure's salesman quoted me a price of $10,000. I got someone to do it for $4,000. We recently had our kitchen renovated and it came out beautiful but there were some minor issues that surfaced following the completion. We contacted the service department and set up an appointment for them to come to our house. We worked with two people Jimmy Aguilar and Mike Camastro. He is very detailed orientated, he takes his time in assessing the situation and making sure that the problem gets resolved. Alure came highly recommended to us and once we met with them we knew why. Not only do they do gorgeous work, but their staff is second to none! We had our bathroom remodeled and couldn't be happier. Mike the designer came to our house with everything needed for us to design our 5 Day Bathroom. What a huge convenience since my husband and I have crazy work schedules. The day we started our bathroom remodel we met our project supervisor Emilio who was also fantastic. Emilio and his crew kept us informed on what to expect each day and were there for us if we had any questions. They also cleaned up after themselves everyday so you would never know that we had construction going on. Their team was amazing and everyone was so helpful throughout the entire process. From beginning to end it was a wonderful experience. Thank you to all involved! We had piece of mind knowing that Alure has been in business for so many years. I used Alure to remodel my kitchen this year and these guys were awesome. They did such a good job, I feel compelled to let them know. I had so many other contractors here and got estimates, but I never felt really comfortable and delayed the actual work til I couldn't stand my kitchen anymore. My friend met the owner, Sal, at a charity function and insisted I check out their work. At first I was hesitant because of some reviews here, but was then really impressed by some of their work I'd seen and also from what other people had told me. The design specialist, Christina, that came here got a feel for what I really wanted and when I couldn't decide on a specific countertop, cabinets or even the sink, she had me come to their showroom in East Meadow to choose from more samples. I probably drove her crazy, (Sorry!), but I really wanted my kitchen perfect. When I finally made up my mind, I got that perfect kitchen. I can't even tell you how relieved I was that the installers that came were so polite and didn't destroy my floors I just had redone last year. They were friendly and kept me in the loop with everything they were doing, but also didn't kill my days that week. My dog even liked them and she really doesn't like many people outside of my family!! What made me the happiest though was the fact that my kitchen came out even better than what I had imagined. I'm so extremely pleased as I sit here with my coffee this morning at my brand new kitchen island, I just want to say THANK YOU AGAIN ALURE!!! I'm sorry I didn't do this sooner! read more

We had Alure tear down and rebuild a new master bathroom from scratch. It was a dreadful experience for the following reasons: The contract we signed was the first problem. It called for 1/3 upon signing, 1/3 when job actually started and 1/3 (which we missed and were never told about) way prior to job completion (which came back to haunt us later as you will see). Who is asked to pay final payment for a job prior to completion? The designers' supposed to guide us were difficult to reach and were not very accommodating. We selected the tile, counter tops, hardware, flooring, color grout etc. from the designer's suggestions. When the tile installers began installation they told us that the tiles we selected (with designer's help) were too heavy, wouldn't work with the herring bone pattern and we needed to select new tile. That meant nothing worked color wise. Specifically, the counter tops didn't work with the tile and floors selected. Their designer told us it would work but when we went to look at the actual quartz it clearly didn't work. We picked out something with the help of a woman who worked at their supplier. We were hoping designer would have been there with us. A 3 week job supposed to start 7/9/18 didn't start until 8/15 and wasn't completed until the end of January 2019. The crew that demolished the existing bathroom damaged a speaker in the ceiling that we specifically told them would need to be re-installed and to which Alure project manager agreed. The sheetrock crew did a really poor job. The areas around the windows had large gaping holes. The walls behind the sinks were uneven making the back splash above the sinks not even with the walls making it impossible to caulk properly. The plumbers installed our shower hardware, Delta 3 port, 3 function diverter trim. There were supposed to be 3 settings: one for shower, one for handheld and one for both. Only 2 worked when installed and we were told that is the way it works. We read the Delta manuals and convinced Alure the 3 settings should work. They figured out they needed a new cartridge which was supposedly on order. Finally came 2 months later because it was never ordered and it solved problem we had identified. One of their workers accidentally chipped the molding around the door. When I picked up the chip later that night it literally crumbled in my hand. I realized they didn't replace the molding with wood as we originally had. They agreed to deliver the new wood molding. The electrician connected the heated floor and installed a thermostat but it did not work. We had paid the first 2 installments and 1/2 of the last payment. So many things didn't work that we withheld the last 1/2 in case we had to hire another contractor. Alure stopped work, came and literally removed the wood molding from our garage that they had delivered. That is why I would suggest never paying the last 1/3 until you are satisfied that everything works properly. We were eventually forced to pay, after having Alure sign a pre-completion quality control punch list of all unfinished items, in order to avoid a costly litigation and have the job finished. As a result of the above experience I have given this poor reference. read more
