Had to replace a 25+ year roof/gutter on my 2600 sqr/ft house in Nassau County. From contract to completion the project took less than 3 weeks - would have been sooner but we had to wait on permitting. It cost a pretty penny (large part of that is probably due to supply chain other economic factors), but between protecting my home, and increasing its curb appeal I think it was well worth it. 0 STARS! STAY AWAY!!! WASTE OF TIME!! I set up an appointment for them to come to my house to give us an estimate on our kitchen remodel. They were adamant about both my husband and I being home because it would be along appointment and they would bring samples for us to see and give us a quote good for a year. We got a sitter for our two kids and 20 mins before the appointment they called to cancel. We rescheduled for the following weekend. they were supposed to be at our house at 2:00pm. By 2:15 I started to call company to find out where the sales person was. They didn't answer the phone. I was put through an automated service and left on hold for 30 mins. At 3:15 (1.5 hrs after the appt.) the salesperson finally called and said "Hi, did we have a 2:00 appointment?" He said he lost track of time and could still come but was an hour away from our house. We already had a sitter for the kids so I told him to come anyway because I just wanted a price to compare. He never came in with the samples and said he cant give me a quote just yet and he would need to call me in a few days. He was very unprofessional and they lied about the process. DO NOT USE THEM. waste of time! He said they were bought out by a larger company and it shows. He didn't seem to care or want our business and I would never recommend Alure to anyone. read more

Every word I wrote is 100% accurate. At no time was an explanation given to me for your companies silence in returning my calls. Had someone bothered to call or text me about what Mike was going through I would have understood and waited. Here's a free business tip. If one of your employees is dealing with an emergency and can't follow up on their commitments have someone reach out to their clients and tell them. Better yet, do it yourself if you're such a concerned owner. You neglected to mention Mike only called me from the road after I posted my review. Here's a question for yo. If you feel my review is so harsh what rating would you give a company that you had a good history with who refused to return promised calls, only called after a complaint and once again stopped calling without so much as an explanation? Frankly I'm surprised you find it necessary to childishly try to insult people who make legitimate (and accurate) complaints, rather than just being an adult an accepting responsibility for you mistakes. I had very good visit with Alures sales rep., Jack Chapman yesterday morning. He was really informative and friendly. We sat for awhile discussing the products over coffee and I found him to really positively represent Alure and I am looking forward to finding a place with in our large renovation project fir their products. What a complete disaster! I hired Alure to do a 5-day bathroom remodel for a small bathroom. This project has been going on for over a year with issue after issue after issue. The original installer did not know how to properly install tile, so there were huge gaps left between tiles in the corners of the shower. This let to a buildup of water between the tiles. The vanity was installed without being aligned to the mirror and lights, so it was off-center to the room. The walls were barely sandpapered down, so it was easy to see where the nails had been drilled in. Since the original install, there has been a leak into the basement, multiple attempts to fix the poor tile and caulking, and now, while attempting to simply replace one tile on the floor, additional tiles were destroyed that requires the toilet and vanity to be removed. Long story short: DO NOT HIRE ALURE! As soon as they get your money, you are no longer a concern for them. Complete disaster from start to finish! read more

A few years ago, we went into the Alure Showroom, and met our Designer, who designed our kitchen, and a few years later our bathrooms. Perfectly done, but what really sold us, was months after our kitchen was done, a small Part in our dishwasher broke, causing a small flood. After getting the dishwasher company to pay for the work, with Alure helping us get the appropriate paperwork, they redid our kitchen. They also were responsive to all repairs based on our warrantees, and the service department was always professional. Some of our friends loved the work so much that the booked jobs with them as well. But the most amazing part of this, was we were awarded a free vacation to the Rivera Maya Mexico, at the Hard Rock Hotel. We had an amazing time, a special time with other people who booked jobs and staff from Alure. I would recommend the staff, because they did a great job, and the company because they stand by the work. read more

When we bought our house we knew a kitchen remodel was in our future and after getting several estimates, we chose Alure to do the work. I liked that their process was all encompassing - you basically work with your designer to come up with the remodeling plans, choose the materials such as cabinets, tile (and much more) and then you work with a construction manager once the construction starts. It starts with having a designer come by (in our case Ken Gold who was awesome to work with) and he gives you an initial design. We wanted to expand our kitchen so we were not eligible for the 10 day kitchen program and instead did a complete custom kitchen remodel. Ken came up with some creative uses to maximize space and enlarge our kitchen to make it more functional without blowing our budget. If you like the design, you make a followup appointment to come to their showroom to finalize the design and pick out all the pieces. You also see a 3D design of it as well. I loved that the we were able to choose cabinets, tile, fixtures, countertop, and more all in one (albeit long) afternoon. Once we chose everything, we signed our contract and Alure even treated us to lunch next door at the diner. We were quoted about 2 months for our project and it took just slightly longer which wasn't too bad. Our construction manager was Joe C. who did a good job of keeping us updated on the progress of our kitchen. I'd be lying if I said no issues came up but on a renovation of this scale, we fully expected something to come up. In our case, there was a miscommunication about the type of high hats to install and we came home one day to see the absolute wrong type of lights installed. We notified Joe and eventually our lights were fixed. Other things came up but nothing that wasn't fixable. We are very happy with our new kitchen and glad we chose Alure. I'll be upfront that Alure will be more expensive than others but in our case we wanted the convenience of one company managing all aspects of the renovation - the designing, purchasing of materials, delivering materials on time, the demo, construction, cleanup etc. It would be a major headache for us to coordinate with different contractors or visit a tile store, cabinet store, plumbing store etc and coordinate everything ourselves. Alure handles all that and you are paying for that convience. To us, it was well worth it. read more

Alure is the absolute very best.I cant think there is any home improvement company that would take care of a problem that arises like they do.Alure did my kitchen two years ago and i had a leak this past saturday night and made a call to their service dept and there was someone to take my call on saturday evening.Monday morning Jenn who coordinates all the problems that arise had Greg at my house first thing Monday morning.Greg was terrific at figuring out where the leak was coming from and the whole issue was fixed within a few days.Greg was fantastic as well as Larry and i cant say enough about Jenn being able to take care of this so quickly. Alure covers you for a minimum of five years and to be able to take care of issues so quickly is remarkable in this day and age when you hear so many nightmare stories of home improvement companies.Issues will always arise when you have major construction but they are always there for you and give you peace of mind knowing everything will be taken care of. Purchased a set of kitchen cabinets from Alure in 2003. Quality is great and cabinets still look awesome. I had an issue with a hinge that broke. I contacted Jen Stubbman at Alure Customer service. I contacted Alure for a kitchen reno and worked with designer Kenny Gold, whose design and floor plan were exactly what my 1960's kitchen needed. Kenny is a lovely who listened to my ideas and patiently guided me to achieve my goals. Originally the project was scheduled for April 2020, but unfortunately Covid came along and the project was postponed until June 20, 2021. Even with all the problems Covid created to supply and demand, Project Manager Mike Kelly did an excellent job keeping on top of material, manpower and time management. His crew came in prepared knowing exactly what had to be done. If I had a question, he responded within the day, patiently and without recrimination. I can't say enough about my team, especially with the difficulties we are still facing with Covid. I'm extremely happy with the end-result. read more

Alure Home Improvement did a bathtub remodel and remodel to a stall shower with beautiful tile wall. It was a 2 day project and it went very smoothly. The staff did an unbelievable job! Our house is 100 years old and the staircase is narrow, can't believe they were able to get the tile wall up into the bathroom in one piece! They were terrific. The bathroom looks beautiful now. I have used Alure on three projects in the past so I didn't expect to have any issues. what was supposed to be a 5 week project turned into a 22 week one. Once I started calling to get answers, I discovered that the company was sold at the end of 2021. The previous owners name remained on ads etc At no time was a legitimate explanation offered for any of the delays. The communication from the initial project manager was non existent and his presence on the job was not consistent. If he had been around, perhaps the demo team would not have thrown out my appliances! He quit after about one month or so. It was never clear as to who the new project manager would be. Based on conversations I had with various tradesman, much of the confusion and lack of follow through started with the office. Shortly before the holidays a 'new project' manager was appointed and when she came for a walk through, she pointed out how much money I owed! I pointed out that they owed me work... get me an electrician to finish the job and I will give you some money! The work in my house started before labor day and did not finish until 2/3/23. I would not recommend this new 'Alure' to anyone. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! In the spring, we contacted them to do a major kitchen renovation, which involved removing a wall, gutting and reframing the old kitchen and dining area, putting in and finishing a new wood floor, and installing all new cabinets, countertops, and appliances. Two designers came to our home to give us a rough estimate and plan for the renovation. We told them that we had plans to go away in July, and that we were entertaining house guests the following week, so we needed the job done by the 11th. They said it could be done, and so we signed on. The following week, we went to their showroom, and what a pleasure it was to have samples of cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, etc. all in one place! We gave our designer a budget figure for what we could afford, and she spent hours with us picking out everything, and meeting our exact budget figure. After a second visit to the showroom, we had everything finalized. A few weeks later, cabinets were delivered, a demolition crew arrived to begin the work, followed by framers, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians. Each time a work crew came to our house, our project manager was there to make sure all went according to plan. He coordinated everything, including working with the appliance store to arrange for timely delivery of the new refrigerator, range, and microwave we ordered. In addition, our designer came back periodically to make sure we were happy with the progress of the work, even though her work was already completed. By the beginning of July, everything began to come together, and it was beginning to look like the kitchen we dreamed of. Within a few days, the kitchen was usable, and the only major work to be done was to stain and finish the floor. After that was done, the carpenters returned to clean up our "punch list" of minor details to be completed. They did everything - and did it well - ON JULY 11! If you are looking for a company that handles and coordinates every phase of your renovation, then Alure is for you. read more

When we first met them, they looked very professional and we really thought that we would be satisfied with their work. They started in March 2021 and told us that the kitchen would be done in about 12 weeks... well, it has been 9 months and it is still not done. Just imagine being without an oven for 9 months and having to cook with an electric cooktop for a family of 6. They also put a mismatched kitchen backsplash and we are still waiting for them to come replace it. We have to call them every day for an update or else you don't hear from them for 2 weeks. They are not very responsive and it's very frustrating. If you enjoy spending most of your time and the holidays in your basement, they are the right company for your next kitchen job! read more

I contacted Bob Sansivero who immediately responded and told me Jennifer Stubbmann of the Service Dept. would contact me to follow up in order to make the repair. Mike Kuplicki and his staff were amazing to work with. They helped us work within our budget and met all of our needs. Once construction started The foreman and his crews were awesome. RUN do not walk away from this company. I only give them one star because Yelp doesn't allow zero stars. I waited almost three years after using their services in the hopes that my initial negative reaction to their work was wrong but it was right. My husband and I wanted two smallish bathroom re-done and, since we wanted to minimize the inconvenience to us, we decided to use Alure since they market themselves as 5 Day bathrooms and they do all the work themselves. Well, on day one, the first people to arrive on the job were two (very) young men who are in charge of the demolition. These two guys really enjoy their job. In fact, they enjoy it so much that they completely lose all knowledge to the collateral damage they create. They hammered the bathroom floors so enthusiastically that they knocked two of the hi-hat lighting fixtures out of my kitchen ceiling. The next guy who shows up is an electrician. No problems. He did a good job and was finished in a couple of hours. The next day, the fun really begins. When our sales rep, Rocco, gave us an estimate, the way he described the order of work, we clearly inferred that they send a "team" of Alure employees to do the work. WRONG!!! One guy showed up. I immediately called Joe Russo, the project manager, who informed me that only one person does the balance of the work. Sheetrock, replacing electrical outlets and connections, plumbing, tile work etc. I told him that I did not expect a handyman to do the work and he informed me that "Freddi" was an expert and the best they had. To make a long story short, several weeks after the bathrooms were completed, we noticed that the grout was cracking in many spots. We called the office, who informed us that "oh, this common. We'll send someone out to repair it". They did. It happened again. We complained again. Around the fourth time this happened, the repairman finally told us that the problem was that Freddi had used caulking where he should have used grouting and that was why it was cracking. After about a year, several floor tiles, as well as the saddle across the doorway, started cracking. After several attempts by Alure to repair this, the service manager finally came out and said the entire floor had to be ripped up and replaced. When the repairmen (who were clearly Alure employees) came and ripped up the floor tiles, they discovered an orange netting under the tiles. They looked at each other and both said "what the h*** is that?". This told me that, not only was Freddi an independent subcontractor handy man (as I had suspected) but he was allowed to use inferior materials to complete an Alure job. My hands are getting tired of typing so I'll just summarize this nightmare. In all, Alure has been here 8 times to repair, replace grout, tile, caulking and the bathrooms still look second rate and the grouting is still cracking. I have had to give up 11 days of my time to wait for their service people and I'm still not happy. Oh, by the way, we paid TOP MONEY ($33,000.00 for two small bathrooms) for inferior materials and second rate workmanship. read more

The project manager, Tim Olsen, kept in touch with us the whole time; each piece of the job was performed by a different team of workers, all very polite. I was promised a one day job to install 2 sliding glass doors. That was on August 24th. It is still not done. Here is the story of my disappointment. Upon install I was informed that they were missing parts and that they would return to finish the job. My neighbor was at my house for this and they took the check even though the job wasn't completed. I called a month later to see if the parts ever arrived. They then informed me that their installer was on vacation. Only one installer? They set a date to return, so I took off work to wait and see it done right. The installer arrived and told me that they didn't have the right parts, so he used my bathroom and left. Now I just got off the my project manager who pleaded with me not to write any negative reviews. I informed him that the installer should not have taken the money for the completed job when the job wasn't completed. He insists that this is a warranty issue, but how can it be a warranty issue when the job is incomplete? On a previous call I was promised credit. Today that is not the case. Be careful with this company and make sure that the job is COMPLETE before paying them. I will gladly change this review if I am compensated for my aggravation and completion of this job. read more

I got an estimate from Alure several years ago for a small floating deck to be installed over my existing patio. Alure's salesman quoted me a price of $10,000. I got someone to do it for $4,000. It's still fine. I really feel like I dodged a bullet, not only for the bad reviews, but the nasty responses from the owner Sal. I would never want to work with a person like that. We recently had our kitchen renovated and it came out beautiful but there were some minor issues that surfaced following the completion. We contacted the service department and set up an appointment for them to come to our house. We worked with two people Jimmy Aguilar and Mike Camastro. Mike was extremely helpful and rather than just brush us off, he worked with us to come to a solution. Never once did Mike ever say no but rather did every thing in his power to remedy the situation. He introduced us to Jimmy who was the person responsible for getting the repairs taken care of. Jimmy's work ethic is above and beyond of what I expected. He is very detailed orientated, he takes his time in assessing the situation and making sure that the problem gets resolved. Jimmy is a true professional and is very helpful in making suggestions to get the issues resolved.
