Minus one star because they told us where to park and take the trolley, the thing is when we found the parking lot they sent us we had to walk two long blocks in the heat only to find that during that week the trolley wasn't running due to road repairs downtown so we had to walk back and we ventured into downtown and were lucky to find a place to park a couple of short blocks away from the Memorial. We enjoyed swimming in the lake, there's a wonderful sandy beach that's very clean. There's some decent hiking trails and apparently some good fishing, we saw a lot of people fishing near the dam. Unlike Lake Lawtonka, this park allows dogs or at least we didn't see any signs indicating otherwise! Our dogs thoroughly loved it! It's pretty secluded so pack your lunch and bring plenty of water to drink. There was a small general store near the boat ramp that sells burgers but not sure they're open all year.

WOW, if we could be any more disappointed, I'd be shocked. For small dogs you have to enter the large dog park FIRST and then go into the smaller one inside. No poop bag stations either- so clearly this was geared towards large dogs. Next- it was the most disgusting dog park- trash EVERYWHERE. Bottles with what looked like human pee in it? I tried to clean up the trash a bit before we let our pup play, but it just was not worth it and didn't want to risk her getting sick from something. I would suggest passing on this park if you are not a regular because clearly this is not maintained well.
