Excellent friendly service, and awesome ambiance. The perfect place to meet up and drink with aircrew for a while, before catching the drunk bus to Scooters. One thing that has always been odd to me is when people bring their children there with them late on a Friday night. Charlie's is more of a bar than it is a restaurant, so I guess some folks just schlep their kids along and expect them to not take anything negative away from the experience... Went there for the first time and the bartender was very friendly. The only weird thing was she started a tab for me automatically which was kinda weird but I mean I was going to anyways but still weird that no questions were asked ha. Good for a group setting and the view was nice. Its also a cook your own burger place and I was like whoa I have to cook my own food but then I remembered I grill the best burgers anyways so it was kind of nice. And my burger was cooked to perfection so no complaints. read more

Make no mention of that rate including bowling shoes, of which I had my own. I drove an hour out of my way already just to get here. Shitty pricing doesn't encourage me to ever come back. The owner of the Layne's, after reading my review, reached out to me with an apology. He assured me that he would educate his counter staff, and was surprisingly grateful for my review. Good for you Mr McKnight! Thank you for your attention to my concerns, and I look forward to attending your alley again in the near future.

The fishing is amazing even for an amateur like me. Scott, Park Manager, is a pleasure to deal with. Super friendly and supportive. We stayed down near the water in spot 29. The only minor frustration is the flies. But that was probably our own problem. They loved the outside of our RV. but were almost unnoticeable when out and about. We highly recommend this park. A very beautiful part of Oklahoma we don't get to see enough of. We will be back.

We enjoyed swimming in the lake, there's a wonderful sandy beach that's very clean. There's some decent hiking trails and apparently some good fishing, we saw a lot of people fishing near the dam. We loved how empty it was on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Only a few tents and campers around, it felt very private and secluded. We had the entire beach to ourselves. Unlike Lake Lawtonka, this park allows dogs or at least we didn't see any signs indicating otherwise! Our dogs thoroughly loved it! It's pretty secluded so pack your lunch and bring plenty of water to drink. There was a small general store near the boat ramp that sells burgers but not sure they're open all year.
