The man who owns the place was very nasty and racist. Upon arriving, asking simple questions started to annoy his and he started answering with an attitude. I had my Philippine boy with me and he asked him "are you gonna get a gun or just stand there" while he was waiting for the man to finish inspecting my gun. The yellow rose is a great place to go shoot. Their indoor range is nice and clean and has everything you could possibly need.

A-OK. Not happy with the prices though. Im trying to find my wife a pistol that she can shoot comfortably. We tried the Walther P22 they have. not a good gun, lots of jams and the shell kicks right back into your face 3 out of 5 times. .22s will jam sometimes mostly because of the ammo, but the extractor on this pistol was really bad and needed work. Also very inaccurate. Im a good shot and could not hit piss on the target with this pistol which is ok because we were just there to find out what she is comfortable with not to shoot tacks. In any case we could not try another gun because the cost was already 48 dollars for just the 22. If they would give a discount, say have a "try 3 guns for the price of one day" just pay for the ammo, then that would be great. I dont have 50 bucks a pop just to see what my wife can shoot comfortably. I think i will just get her a Ruger .380 and she will have to adapt a little as we all do. PRO's: Good people very patient and attentive customer service. Cons: expensive to rent a gun and the range is very small and cramped. I dont think there is another range anywhere else around here so i guess we will be back once i get her the pistol so she can practice for her CCWL. read more

Yellow Rose is a good gun shop. They have a nice firing range and their prices are average as far as gun store prices. They rent guns and will set up stands for kids to go shoot. I rented a .22 for my son and they were very helpful and even set everything up so he could have an enjoyable first time firing. They run good deals on Glocks, so if you are looking for a decent gun at a decent price, talk to them about their Glock specials. read more

Yellow rose what to say about yellow rose I love coming to this place. Just about every time I am in Altus I come here always welcoming and friendly. I live seven hours away and that's saying something since sometimes it's several months between visits. I go with my 9MM and Ruger 22 and have a good time shooting. It's always a good experience every time I come in. One of these days I need to rent the Thompson. I will warn that the range isn't insulated so keep this in mind for winter months. I don't mind this though. I will say a live five minutes from a range in Austin but I would rather come here any day of the week over the close place. read more

Unhelpful and rude, with unnecessary and overbearing rules. They feel a need to personally check every weapon coming into the range each visit, over the top but I was willing to humor them. I even unloaded my carry gun in my car and presented it to them empty and open. Unfortunately this wasn't enough and they wouldn't let me even have my carry mags loaded in my pocket while they "inspected" my gun for... things? Apparently only employees of the range can be trusted with loaded guns or something. On top of this the range is small, stuffy, poorly lit and extremely loud. They also haven't figured out how to take credit cards yet despite it being 2017. Will not be coming back. read more

My family just relocated from Florida due to the military moving us. My husband and I both went to the range to get exemption forms so we wouldn't have to sit through the entire class again just to get our Oklahoma ccl. I had spoken to the elderly man, Jerry this morning whom was very polite, and was more than happy to help us out with it. He stated they would charge us $30 per exemption form (so for the both of us it would be $60 just for two forms, kind of ridiculous but whatever), and he stated I would need to bring my old Florida license with. Once we got there, I ended up speaking with the younger bald guy, Jeffrey. Jeffrey had an attitude as soon as we walked in. I kindly showed him my license, my ccl Florida license, and military id which is when he started giggling like a little school girl because I am a "military dependent". Now why he was giggling because I am a dependent I am not aware of. Majority of military couples, one of them is a dependent because it's rare that both are active. Either way he was a d*ck, and he lost out on getting the $60 for exemption forms, and a family range membership. What he also failed to realize is the majority of wives control the money on how, and where it is spent. I'm the one whose giggling now. read more
