The…read moreowner, Abraham, is extremely nice and pleasant, but he may simply decide not to call or text you back. I'm not talking about excessive calls or unreasonable follow-ups. I'm talking about sending a simple text like, "Hi, are we still on track?" and getting complete radio silence.
Ironically, this is the same person who once told me how nice I had been to him years ago when he worked for a company I had hired.
When Abraham says, "I say yes," you feel confident you've found the right person. The question is: is it worth the stress of trying to get a hold of him afterward?
You end up worrying about questions that could be answered in 30 seconds. You discuss the importance of communication with him, and then the next time you reach out, the same thing happens again.
After seeing this review, Abraham suddenly called and started texting me. All of a sudden, he became responsive.
He pointed out that he had not yet been formally hired as my contractor, so let me provide the full context.
I submitted an offer on a house, and that offer was adjusted based on his verbal bid and willingness to move forward. I explained that I had a limited amount of time to make a decision because I had one contingency remaining before my deposit became nonrefundable. He told me he needed until Friday to provide a bid.
During that period, as is common in most business dealings, occasional communication was necessary. It could have been as simple as a brief text exchange. Instead, there was nothing--absolutely nothing. The total amount of communication required between our first meeting and the promised bid date would have been no more than two minutes combined.
Those two minutes matter.
Sometimes communication is needed simply to make sure everyone understands the situation. For example, what Abraham initially believed could be done during the first and second phases changed after speaking with his engineer, yet he waited to tell me.
Abraham and ChatGPT have both responded, but he continues to discuss everything except his own accountability. Perhaps he didn't provide the AI with the right prompts. I will post another screenshot showing that I never repeatedly called him about the estimate, which is what he keeps focusing on.
My entire point is this: Abraham does not communicate, especially when he realizes that an assumption or hypothesis he gave you turns out to be incorrect. Rather than communicate, explain the situation, and keep you informed in a timely manner, he ignores calls and text messages.
I even received direction from a fire inspector that directly affected his scope of work, and he never heard about it because communication had broken down.
The only time he has been consistently responsive is after I posted this review.
So when you hear, "I say yes"... run.
