I hired Hardwood Perfect Flooring to do a sanding, staining, and refinish on my new co-op…read moreapartment. Sam came and did a competitive quote immediately after I called the office, and quickly won me over with both a good price and her apparent knowledge of her product. She was also incredibly nice. The job itself was done quickly, taking 3 days for apx. 400 sq feet of 100 year old parquet floors. Customer Service: The only thing I wish in hindsight was I wish communication was more clear and a bit easier to manage. My uncle is in hardwood business, albeit out of state, and we had never heard of any company not including a skim coat (filling in small holes between floor boards) in a sand/stain/refinish job. Since my floors are antique, there are small gaps here and there that drive me nuts, and having a smooth surface was my main goal of refinishing at all. Only after I asked specifically about the gaps the 1st morning of the job did I find out that HPF charged extra for skim, and was not planning on filling any gaps. Still, I let Sam know that if there are a lot of gaps that will not be smoothed by sanding, to please let me know what she thinks after sanding so I can decide if I opt in for the skim coat. I made it clear I was open to paying more to get the right result. When I tried to follow up on that at the end of the day, it didn't seem like an option. After more concern on my end, Sam and Thomas let me know they would fill in a lot of the larger holes for free, but it still is not the complete smooth surface I would have loved. I appreciate their doing what seems to not be the norm for them, but would have liked to have my option to have a full skim coat prioritized. Similarly, on the second day, Sam called and let me know she was going to throw in a nail in a more loose piece of wood because the board was loose as a 'gift,' but then the final day, when I asked how the nail went, I was told she decided not to do it. Not totally sure why, but it felt almost as though I was being rude asking about it, when I never requested it? For future customers, I would just say have a long talk about exactly what you want before the job starts, even if it seems like you understand or it is a give-in, and make sure everything is very clear and in the quote properly. Should make any communication go smoother and the process less straining. End result: When I got in to the apartment after the job was done, I was completely thrilled. I couldn't stop saying "wow". I love the Provincial stain and the matte finish no the floors! I still do wish that the gaps were better filled, particularly where the gaps are uneven and dust collects, but I really do feel HPF restored my antique wood floors back to life. If I was doing another job, I would call them for a quote. Their prices are very good, and the family run business works fast!

I really can't say enough good things about this company…read more I found them here on yelp and was a bit skeptical at first because they had only a handful of reviews, however, they had all positive things to say so I decided to reach out. From the beginning they responded quickly. Alena is who I worked with directly in terms of the design of our cabinetry .. she came to our home and was very friendly. She measured and double checked her measurements, suggested ideas and worked with me on what I was looking for- we went back and forth via email for a few different design options and was always quick to respond when I had a question or concern (which was often because I'm a worry wart) Has something ever seemed too good to be true so you are just waiting for the "bad news" to hit? That's how I felt- everything was going too smoothly- too easily and too right to be reality. I have delt with other companies and that's always my experience- if the start is great the product is terrible or the install- always a little something- but not here! I can honestly say I'm shocked. They were fairly priced- quick & easy to work with the entire process. Down to the installation- I am thrilled with the resulting product, quality & professionalism from start to finish. I have been and will continue to recommend this company- I am also now on a search for more projects because they left my home more functional and more beautiful than it was and I want them to somehow touch every room in my house! Seriously, I can't thank them enough & once the room is finished I will gladly post the picture- I just don't want the surrounding to distract from the beauty of their work :)

I reached out to the Couch Surgeon around noon on a holiday expecting we'd probably have to wait a few days, but to my surprise, they said they would be here within two hours. Watching them work was honestly impressive. Professional, responsive, efficient, and clearly experts at what they do. I felt safe with my conversation with him and the fact that he gave me a clear quote (you can see below why this was important to me). He was able to show up the next day cuz he actually was close to my neighborhood . He broke down my 78 in beige sofa, in a stairwell, in about 20 minutes . He showed up on time, he got right to work! The sofa was in my apartment in a matter of 35 minutes . A sofa that took two movers and my dad and his worker over the span of a weekend lol. Favio did it in 35 minutes! Of course Him and Brian reassemble to the sofa . Favio wanted me to sit on the sofa to make sure it didn't creek because he does offer a lifetime warranty . I had originally called the couch doctor and received a quote for anywhere between $375 and $750. My communication with the owner didn't feel good. I asked questions via text that he couldn't answer, so I'd have to call him to get the answers. And I didn't want someone to show up to my place who will now just randomly charge me $800 because they couldn't know the price until they saw the sofa and actually broke it down which would leave me in a place of desperation. I didn't feel safe with the couch doctor. I highly recommend couch SURGEON!
