I highly recommend this tailor. I have a very unique and one-of-a-kind wedding dress that I needed…read morealtered. Being new in town, I didn't have a tailor that I had a history with and I was pretty nervous about letting just anyone alter my dress! I chose this shop based on the yelp reviews and, upon meeting the owner, Gwen, my nerves were immediately calmed. Because my dress ended up being very difficult to work with, the alteration ended up taking several weeks and I made a handful of visits to try my dress on during the process. This may be seen as an inconvenience to some, but I feel that this shows how careful and thoughtful Gwen was about what she was doing. I would rather make several visits over a period of time than have someone going rogue with the scissors on a sentimental piece of clothing. During each visit, she would go over options with me and we would make a decision together about what was best. The end result is stunning and looks exactly how I wanted it to look. In addition to this, I enjoyed visiting with Gwen when I would stop in and we ended our last session with a hug. :) If you are looking for a thoughtful and talented tailor, I definitely recommend this shop!

The dress we expected to wear was delayed as a result of a transit strike and failed to arrive before the event. Annie's -- literally -- saved the day by making a number of alterations and adjustments to a back-up gown. Over our family's Thanksgiving meal, we were all thankful for Annie's Alterations! We might have expected superlative customer service and compassion for our situation had we been long time customers. But although we never met anyone at Annie's until after 5 pm the day before Thanksgiving, we were treated like family. And were beyond appreciative and grateful for their professionalism and for their kindness and understanding. Although it would have been understandable had they done so, they insisted on doing the work properly and refused to take shortcuts. We were thrilled with their professional adjustments and with the ultimate fit of a formal gown that went from an ill-fitting back-up to first string flawless. I will absolutely return to Annie's for any future alterations needs and . We are fortunate to have Annie's Alterations in Birmingham.
