I have never met anyone this rude and unprofessional! I overpaid her to hem a pair of pants. She said, and put on my ticket "ready Saturday at 1PM" I went to pick them up at 12:50. I took a pair of simple ((lightweight, no lining, no exotic fabrics or design)mens dress pants to have shortened by one inch, simple straightforward hemming, after she told me she has pet allergies and asked if the pants had been around pets and then rolled off any lint she saw, she told me she would do the job better than anybody else who charges less and quoted $25... I have a denim skirt that I want to have taken in at the waist and realize that it isn't as simple as one might think to do (that's why I went to a person who does this for a profession), and after much back and forth between us, me explaining what I wanted, her telling me how difficult what I was asking for would be and her not knowing what would happen once she got started on the skirt, she told me "NO, I can't do it, its too much..." Ive had Annie do several things for me such as pant alterations (hems) and drapery- in the end, the job was done adequately... but the process was painful. She simply says " No it's too much work" or tells me in an agresiva way that I dont want to do what I'm asking for. She constantly bickers back and forth and expresses why she doesn't want to do her job and then ends up doing it. I have given her several changes because that's me. she is centrally located where alterations are needed...but sadly I think she dislikes her craft and it is draining. Just now I took in a pair of nylon fringe pants that I asked for a simple hem ... ( would have taken her 5 minutes with a surger) and told her the fringe could just be cut. Without letting me give her a context ---that the pants were more for fun....she yelled at me in front of a customer... saying "No! I dont want to touch those pants... Too much trouble". This place needs to be shut down. $65 to alter pants?!??? For real?!?! This is highway robbery. I would not leave my clothes there after finding out the price and she was so rude and slinging pins. She told me that I should go elsewhere next time. She also demanded that I pay her $10 cash for "taking up her time." What?!?? She took up my time and demanded money? This should be a crime. Literally the worst place to get assistance! I called the company and got sent to voicemail followed by "Sorry, we can't talk right now!" Like how professional, right? Oh wait, it gets worse... I ask for a simple sew that I needed today and would pay extra for. I sent a photo and was told to use SHOE REPAIR for an item I needed sewn because it's formal... incredibly professional work by Annie. We chatted the day I dropped off my bridesmaid's dress, she has a long history working in formalwear and it shows!! I went in worried I would have to get a major alteration done as I'd lost a lot of weight between when we ordered dresses and the month of the wedding. Annie showed me a much simpler, and CHEAPER way to make a Size 10 gown fit a Size 4 person! I've been doing alterations in theatre for years and have sewn all my life, and I couldn't even tell where she worked on the dress. Cost was exactly what we discussed when I dropped it off, no surprises, and was done exactly on time. I will absolutely be returning to her for future alterations. read more

As a first time customer, Annie's Alterations went above and beyond to make numerous, expert alterations to a formal dress when I experienced a dress emergency over the Thanksgiving holiday. The dress we expected to wear was delayed as a result of a transit strike and failed to arrive before the event. Annie's -- literally -- saved the day by making a number of alterations and adjustments to a back-up gown. Over our family's Thanksgiving meal, we were all thankful for Annie's Alterations! We might have expected superlative customer service and compassion for our situation had we been long time customers. But although we never met anyone at Annie's until after 5 pm the day before Thanksgiving, we were treated like family. And were beyond appreciative and grateful for their professionalism and for their kindness and understanding. Although it would have been understandable had they done so, they insisted on doing the work properly and refused to take shortcuts. We were thrilled with their professional adjustments and with the ultimate fit of a formal gown that went from an ill-fitting back-up to first string flawless. My biggest disappointment is the reviews. Had the reviews been more factual and real then I wouldn't have used Annies. Annie's is not cheaper than the competition. I was charged $16.00 per pair of pants to be hemmed. That's equal and more than the competition. Then it took 8 days to get my pants back. That seems like a long time to get two pair of slacks hemmed. My grandmother could knock that out within an hour or less. The work wasn't great-one of my pants legs is slightly shorter than the other. Summary I will not ever use this alteration shop again. read more

Worst service EVER! I took two sport jackets to be altered (sides taken in, sleeves let out) and Annie said that she could not tell me exactly how much it would cost. When the jackets were ready, the total cost was $235! When I asked questions about what all she did and why the cost was so incredibly high (I've had similar work done previously at other tailors for approx. $100), she screamed at me and told me that she has to pay rent. When I kept asking her to show me the work she did, she threatened to call the police. I was shocked!
