I came for a bridesmaid dress to be altered. I had anticipated needing to shorten the hem, and maybe take in the dress at the bust. The ladies had suggest I get a bigger, padded bra (saving me on the alteration there). I will say- I was personally a little sticker-shocked. They charge per yard of work and by what type of material/stitching is needed. For my Birdy Grey satin dress, that meant 4 yards worth; at about $25 a yard, that was over $100 after taxes for alteration. YIKES- that is literally more than I paid for the dress alone! My seamstress must've seen my shock; she went back and chatted with her team; she asked me "How many times will you wear this dress? Once for the wedding?" I replied yes- as much as I'd like to "rewear" my bridesmaid dress, I'm gonna be honest- after so many weddings, I know it's just for the big day of my friend. So she suggested a cheaper seam (not as durable, but does the job), which dropped my alterations to about $60. Just some notes for ladies to be aware of. I wish I had known more coming in on what I was was expecting to pay! Overall- a good experience. They finished my dress with a few days to spare. read more

I needed to have a suit altered, and after asking around, only one name kept coming up, Joyce's. I walked in with no appointment set and was in a room being measured in under 5 minutes. The tailor that helped me asked a few preference questions on the break of the pants and the fit of the jacket, and we were done in about 10 minutes. Make sure to bring the shoes you intend to wear with your fancy clothes for the fitting in case you don't call for an appointment first. This place is ridiculous. I called them in advance because the zipper for our couch cushion was stuck and she said come on in, I'll take a look at it for you. We proceeded to drive there just to be told that they were too busy and we needed to come back next week to even drop the cover off. I took in 2 pr of slacks to be hemmed. They told me two days but they were ready the next day. Price was totally comparable and workmanship was perfect. The reviews stating that the service is rude don't take into account that many of the employees are foreign so it's more of a cultural thing than being rude. I also don't get the glowing reviews that give four stars. So weird. read more

Joyce Marie's has been around for a long time. It is close to the DTC (Dry Creek and Quebec) so it is easy to get to. I have used them several times for alterations and I have been pleased with the service and quality of work. Ramon is the gentleman that works with me and he usually gets work done prior to the due date, which is always nice. Sometimes you have such a wonderful and accommodating experience with a small business that you just have to write about it. So it goes with Joyce Marie's Tailor Shop. I have used them over many years to repair clothing such as a Polartech jacket zippers, my husband's suit jacket tailored to fit his smaller size and most recently a repair to my running pants which sustained 2 large dog bite holes. Not only is the work excellent but also timely. The seamstress was willing to stitch my pants right then. Though it was a small job, her willingness to help immediately was unexpected. I saw the negative review from Aug of 2014. I took my daughter in last year to have her prom dress altered. The woman at the front was kind of rude, but the woman who actually did the fitting and the altering was great and we were happy with the results. We will go back again this year. Reasonably priced alterations done in a FLASH. I needed to have my slacks (all of them) taken in at the waist, so I thought I'd have them altered in stages or at multiple shops due to the time I thought it would take. I called a local Men's Wearhouse who I knew offered alterations and they referred me to Alterations By Joyce Marie's - I AM SO GLAD THEY DID. I dropped off 3 pairs fifteen minutes before closing and a friendly gentleman took my measurements. I was notified the next morning that my alterations were finished! I dropped off another 5 pairs in the afternoon and they were done in 3 hours! I thought it would be a headache but they made it so easy. Some reviews say the location is challenging to find....it's just an office complex on the corner or Quebec and Dry Creek Rd. They're in Suite D and it's closest to the entrance off of Dry Creek Road, across from the island of mailboxes. Extremely friendly staff. Will be returning for any needs in the future! Random little "mom and pop" shop off dry creek and quebec. They were somewhat attentive and did ok work. Their prices, however, are outrageous. I was measured on a busy Saturday, handed my ticket and left. I didn't really look at my stub until I went to pick it up a few days later...$160 for basic alterations on 4 items. I didn't say anything but I definitely will not return. There are SO many other places around that I've used and liked (and were way more affordable). read more

I've been goin to Joyce Marie's for over 20 years. The last time I went (and I do mean the LAST time), I took in two expensive ski jackets to have the sleeves shortened. Somehow both came out an inch too short. On one of them the lining is an inch longer than the shell. There is no way to fix this, so both jacket are unusable by me. I took 5 items to Joyce Marie to be taken in and spent about $155 on the work. 4 of the items were pants to be taken in at the waist. 2 of the pants are the exact same style, and the stitching began ripping in both of them at the exact same spot on the waistband. Although it's been a few months since the alterations, I expected Joyce Marie to stand by their work. They did not, however, and charged me to repair the pants.
