Unfortunately, numerous things went wrong, and I suffered multiple complications from the surgery. I had all of my teeth removed and seven implants placed--all within just three hours. One of the implants punctured through my jawbone and ended up in my sinus cavity. Others are failing, and I've had bone fragments from the grafts protruding through my gums. I turned to Dr. Samaan for guidance and desperately needed help getting everything corrected. From the very beginning, Dr. Samaan has been nothing short of a godsend. He has taken such incredible care of me and made me feel hopeful that everything will be okay. His compassion, kindness, and exceptional skill have truly made a difference. The staff at All Care Dental is always friendly, supportive, and efficient. Dr. Samaan has gone above and beyond for me, and I can finally see sunshine on the horizon. Thank you, All Care Dental! I wholeheartedly recommend All Care Dental to anyone in need of a compassionate, highly skilled dental team. 10 stars for Dr. Samaan!

I cannot recommend this office enough. I went in this morning with a painful abscess and dental…read moreinfection, and they got me in right away for an emergency root canal. As someone with significant dental anxiety and past dental trauma, I am always incredibly nervous walking through the door. From the very first phone call this morning, I was treated with genuine kindness and compassion. The woman who helped schedule my appointment was so reassuring and made me feel like I was in good hands before I even arrived. Dr. Tim and his assistant, Maria, were absolutely amazing. They were calm, patient, comforting, and took the time to make sure I felt safe throughout the entire procedure. They never made me feel rushed or judged, and their kindness helped ease a fear I've carried for years. What could have been a terrifying experience ended up being one of the most positive dental visits I've ever had. I'm so grateful for this experience and this office. If you have dental anxiety or need emergency dental care, this is the place to go. As a new patient they saw me immediately! Thank you all for your compassion, professionalism, and exceptional care. I truly can't imagine having gone anywhere else!!

When I initially went in, they took probably 50 x-rays to finally get a view of my teeth. Fine,…read morewhatever. After they cleaned my teeth, my gums began bleeding profusely. I never had that problem to any significant degree prior. We're talking... big time. For months, actually. I've had others suggest that perhaps their instruments were not being properly sanitized. I can't say that's true or untrue. What I do know is: when I went in again to get my front teeth fixed, they were confused apparently, and tried to make a mold of my upper, left side molars instead. I let them know, well, fine, just a mix-up. Okay. So they did the mold on my upper front teeth, left it too long, and when they pulled it out, it really hurt and ended up breaking more of my front right incisor. That really upset me. That they have, typically (at least the 3 times I was there) an advertisement in their waiting room for a "chance to win a vacation if you give us a positive review" speaks volumes of their actual competence. That means a lot of the positive reviews here on Yelp. People just hoping to win something. It's pretty shameful. I would recommend finding an actual dentist who knows what they're doing and doesn't try to bribe you into giving them a good review here. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

I called and requested that they look at the crown to see what happened, and they said I had to pay $100 just to have the defective crown examined. They told me there's no warranty at all on their crowns, even if it broke 1 week later!! A quality crown that is done correctly should last 15-20 years. Why go to a dentist that doesn't stand behind their work? I do not recommend.

Shoemaker dentistry can be described as "quintessential" Oxnard. And I'm not referring to the fact that they are located on 5th street rather, to say that the place will instill a sense of what the local community can impress on your experience. Because, when you live in a city long enough to be able to articulate its experience in a nutshell...you can state the facts in not too many words. Oxnard is big city, very crowded, fast paced, and yes very crazy at times. But yet (like in many other big cities) there places in them that time has graced with its own life and energy. Places that function independent of what the streets and the economy for which sets common expectations of conformity. Instead, you can feel at ease and even relax. You can enjoy yourself to be around company that is not too worried about having a good time and even making you apart of the show. They will not try to drag you down with inconveniences or stresses that will impact your mood. Better yet you can see for yourself that their attitudes reflect individuals that put their best foot forward and walk in that direction. Which is in fact, what the "quintessential" essence of any community is. To strive for positivity no matter where you live.

Sugar Family Dental is everything I have been looking for - the staff and dentist are super kind, welcoming, gentle and honest! My previous experiences at other offices involved being told that I had multiple cavities and needed expensive deep cleanings. But not here - Dr. Sugar assured me that my teeth were in great shape :) COVID protocols are followed here to a T. They encourage filling out the forms online or through a link sent through a text message, which cuts down on the time filling them out on paper in the office. Once you park, you call the office and come right up with no wait in the waiting room. Everyone is fully masked and gloved, and there is hand sanitizer right at the door. Each room also has its own air purifier machine. Mary was my dental hygienist. She has an incredibly sweet manner and I could tell she knows how to deal with dentist-anxious people, haha! I have a small mouth and active gag reflex so I dread getting X-rays taken, but she was so fast and efficient. What was also great was that they do the X-rays right in your room, so you're not coming in contact with others. You also see each X-ray pop up on a TV screen right in front of you, which I thought was cool. After that, she did an oral health screening (I know this since she talked me though each step!). She checked under my tongue, my throat and felt gently around the lymph node area of my neck. I've never had that done at a dentist office and really liked the extra step in checking! Then came the cleaning. She used a fancy scaler tool which shoots out a tiny stream of water (like a Water Pik) that she said gets into all the crevices of the teeth. She combined this with using the regular metal tools to scrape all the gunk off. My teeth definitely felt EXTRA clean! Oh I almost forgot - during the cleaning she put a pillow under my neck! Such a small step but it made me so much more comfortable. I almost fell asleep at times. Next, I was checked for gum recession (you know when they poke your gums and call out the numbers?). Mary was very thorough, checking multiple spots on each tooth along front and back. After that was the polishing and flossing. I love when they floss for you because I don't like flossing and that's why I have to be good about going to the dentist, lol. Then Dr. Sugar introduced herself (yes, that's really her name!) and checked my teeth again, went over my X-Rays and asked me of any concerns I had. I had already gotten the gentle reminder from the hygienist to floss more so I'm glad Dr. Sugar focused on my concerns (specifically, teeth whitening and the extra clenching I started doing during Covid). I didn't feel rushed or lectured to, which I have in prior offices. She has the kindest demeanor and assured me that me teeth and gums were looking healthy, WOOHOO. No upselling whatsoever! The last part, which I have never before experienced, was that I was offered a HOT TOWEL to clean up! It smelled like lavender and made me feel like I was a celebrity VIP :) THANK YOU Sugar Family Dental. Now I don't have to dread going to the dentist!
