I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything from the drinks to the desserts was. I am on an unofficial quest for the best tiramisu and was impressed by the one served here. Not too sweet and very creamy. Sehr lecker! Our youngest especially appreciated the mock tail list. We found the service here attentive (by German standards) and look forward to a return visit. By the way, they also have a little Cafe for drinks & snacks that also looks great.

As I recall from my meal, I did their ribeye ordered medium. First thing I had noticed was the interesting choice of dried spices it was topped off with, and while it cut pretty easy it definitely was on the chewy side and had this weird fishy after taste (almost as if they cooked a fish on the same pan they cooked my steak). For sides, a mac n cheese and a side of green beans all to share. Mac n cheese a bit on the soupy side... meh, nice try. Green beans... definitely not so fresh. Service... One dude manning the entire place it seemed. He was the one who greeted us and waited our table. While service at any dine in restaurant in Germany in general is pretty slow, for all I know it could've been our waiter cooking the steaks himself as he was literally the only person I noticed working in the entire establishment. Anyways, not sure I got much else for ya. They do have English menus available here, but prices are not up to date so you have to refer to the regular menu in German to try and figure it out. Next time, though, I will probably order the filet and probably medium well instead of medium. Not only for the price, but in general, a very angenehme experience. We will be back soon to try out different cuts of meat and for sure leave the salad (and possibly sauce) out of the picture. Two people, two 500 gram steaks, five sides and two drinks plus two sauces came out to just over EUR40. You get a better steak at Blockhouse, sure, but San Diego didn't seem to want to kick us out of our seats the second we were finished, unlike some more upscale places. The situation of the restaurant is also very scenic and relaxing. We were greeted as we entered and bid adieu as we left; we felt very welcome and comfortable there. Time goes by but the restaurant has not changed much. The service is ok, the food tasty and I can not even remember if there was ever a different team of waiters. The serving size is more than enough and the evening ends as usual with a 'Julischka' on the house.

Located directly over Havel next…read moreto the picturesque od town, overlooking the water, having a great terrace... it has unattentive service and the food we got the was the worst I can remeber since a long time. Former East Germany is called "service desert" and Aurielle is a good exaple - the counter keeper of self service part literally turned her back on us as we approached, then unwillingly took our order. These self service take aways lasted longer than a dish a la carte in good restaurants... and tasted badly: greasy, more batter than fish, boring taste. A great pity and a bad memory. Possibly having just a beer on the teraace is a better idea.
