My daughter, 13, loves this store. As a parent, I find it a little creepy. Pictures of people praying around clothes?! The "subtle" Christian quotes everywhere. The weird vibe from the staff. Also, the clothes are mostly really distracting. Most not appropriate for school which is where the kids want to wear the clothes. Also, what is the company's stance on women's rights for bodily autonomy, LGBTQ+rights, human rights? I would like more transparency. What is my money supporting by supporting this store? read more

How is this a christian store? Clothes are pretty but WAY too revealing for a christian store. As a true christian its not okay for me to wear these types of clothes of church or even infrint of GOD. The clothes need to be made with more modesty. read more

So I will be entirely honest that when I saw the sign of the store I thought is this a head shop?? It's not, it says on the door where faith and fashion come together. Upon walking in you'll see a nice wide open store and you'll see various signs with bible scriptures that you can purchase for decorating your abode. The staff asked if I needed help but they're not overbearing. The clothing reminded me of anthropologie as did the prices. The store was really big and very easy to navigate and they seemed to have a lot of stuff so I was in there for a while looking around. Cute stuff here bought a few items on sale. I'd say if you're looking for a cute outfit that's not overly revealing I'd recommend checking this place out. read more

Knocked a star, obviously because of prices, but overall they are awesome. The clothes are SUPER cute and if you want to grab an outfit, it's a great location to run a few doors down to Charming Charlies to get accessories. The other thing that's nice about Altar'd State is the house items. They have great gifts for weddings or birthdays. They have pretty picture frames, decorative pillows, candles that smell AMAZING, and various home goods. The dresses are good for occasions or just everyday wear. One of my friends bought a dress for a reunion and I purchased one for just regular wear. As I said earlier, they are a bit pricey so I don't think I'd shop here regularly, but for a special occasion they are good to go to. The other nice thing is it's different from the mall or any other typical clothes store. I believe they have bathing suits as well, but I didn't try any on or purchase any. read more

I walked into this store on a whim last Friday, without realizing at first that it was a Christian store. It looked like any other boutique to me, but the clothes and accessories were super cute, very trendy, yet nothing too revealing or out there. I have an affinity towards gray and yellow clothing (those were my wedding colors so that color combo naturally pops out at me more now) and I made a beeline towards a one-shouldered gray and yellow maxi dress near the front of the store. There was one on the mannequin and one left on the rack - luckily just in my size! Even though it was bit on the pricey side, the material, flow, and overall look and versatility of the dress got me sold - not to mention the encouragement from the other lady customers in the fitting room! As I was leaving the fitting room, I finally noticed the prayer book on the table of the seating area. I'm not a Christian, but I'm very spiritual and took a few minutes to write a few prayer wishes for my family and husband. I thought it was a little strange to have a prayer book there, but figured that the owner must be religious, and that it was a very nice thing for folks to be able to fill out as they wished. At the checkout, the lady helping me was super sweet - she said that as soon as I walked in the door, she knew I'd buy the dress since it was one of the first ones I grabbed, without really looking at anything else, lol...we also had a good conversation about customer service - her's was definitely on par with some of the best I've had. Really cute clothes, but it was really hard to concentrate on the stuff that was in the store because the sales reps were so aggressive. The second I walked in the door they asked me "can I help you find anything?" Well of course they can't help me find anything I haven't even had three seconds to look around. Then they would come check on me multiple times and asked me if I was okay. Well of course I'm okay I will let them know if I need something. Please just back off and let people breathe when they come to store. I don't know a single woman that likes to be badgered when trying to look at clothes. read more

You'd definitely be surprise that this is a Christian Fashion Retail Boutique! The items in the store is pretty trendy! Of things a CHRISTIAN retail store. The styles are vary from Bohemian Sheek, to Casual, Cocktail. There isn't anything in there for men. They have shoes, clothing, accessories typical of a young Misses/Ladies store. There seems to be all ages of women shopping to my surprise. 18-50s. Prices are $$$. Other than that, the end of season sale is awesome! Items are marked down at 70% plus additional 50% off! OCT 5, 2019. I went to alter'd state around 2 PM today. I was looking for a sweater and thought I had found one. I was waiting at the counter to get checked out for a few minutes (which gave me some time to think about my purchase). Once the worker finally came up to the counter I decided against the sweater AND went to hang it up in the correct spot before I left the store. As I walked away from the counter one of your workers (she was wearing an orange trench coat with a black shirt and black jeans) turned to another coworker and said "well that was annoying". This was extremely unprofessional and I have never experienced something like this. read more

Odd time to be writing this review right now since the store is closed but just got my phone fixed and I've been wanting to speak my feelings for a while, so here we go. Super cute and trendy clothes. Love coming here to window shop with my friends when I'm hanging at the town center, but it's expensive soo I can't really afford. I find one thing odd. I get strangely looked at every time I go there. I'm not sure if this is because of my race and my weight. I know my race is not typically Christian, or if they think I am carrying drugs in my purse but like I feel like the employees like look at me when I'm shopping odd and then like gossiping over the microphones as they glance at me idk it's a weird vibe.....it could also may be that I appear that my size does not fit in the clothing but I've tried on the clothes there before and the large flowy shirts do fit and I would totally buy if I had more money. It's also kind of weird how when I'm in the changing room they keep talking to me. Like um okay. I'm naked right now lol. I just wish I can shop normally and have no one talk to me as I am an introverted person and am shy and fat tbh. read more

I absolutely wish I could put -1000000000000 stars on this review! I hate the vibez that come out from this store and the absolute era of this stupidity. Altar'd state has made me very disappointed. More than once they have spelled my name wrong, they have taken my clothes away from me. What if I didn't even wanna try it on bitch. I was still looking ! The employees are so aggressive. One time an employee shoved my clothes out of my arms seven tho I wasn't ready to go into the changing room and took away my jewelry as well. Like that is not acceptable, I was not ready to try on clothes, nor was I ready to intervene and be distracted by my possible jewelry purchases. I do not want to waste more time and energy to go and find the same jewelry all over again ! I do not feel comfortable in their meticulous "Christian" clothes when they do not accept me for who I am as a cherish able muslim lesbian. I am not trying to play the gay prejudice homophobic card but please respect others in this time and era. As well as the prices are ridiculous!! Not even worth buying anything from here! Horrible service and garments, jewels, zippers, denim, fragrance, and above all else ugly employees! I cannot shop in an ugly hostile environment! I was visiting the area and a friend took me to this store for the first time. I love this store. The store was nicely laid out. The products were nice quality. It is a very religious store so many of their products lean toward the christian faith. They are a bit pricey but the quality is worth it. My one complaint is that there were no pus size clothes. Other then that I would definitely recommend shopping here to anyone. read more

I don't like the return policy for final sale items. Maybe I actually don't like the dress and now I can't return it. Also most of the items are really expensive compared to other stores with the same quality. I asked all of my friends (and I have a lot) about this store and they all agree.
