On Sunday Nov 08, 2015. My family and I went to Leesburg outlets Mall in Leesburg, Va to shop. First we shopped at Gap store and we purchased a lot of stuff from Gap store, then we went to Calvin Klein store.
Everyone in my family went inside the store, included my two brothers, two nephews and one niece who came from my country to visit and take care of my mom who has cancer in stage 4, after a while we got what we wanted and I headed to the register to checkout. There was a dark-skin lady laid down at the register from the outside of counter, so I went to the next one. The male cashiers started to check out some of my items which was my family picked. Suddenly I heard the dark-skin lady called someone back to the store while I was still checking out my items. My niece stood next to me and asked me to come to the front door because she saw that lady was checking her father and her grandma ( who were my brother and my mom) and she knew that both of them were not able to understand or speak English. I ran really quickly to the door while she was checking my mom's wheel chair and the GAP bag and my mom's stuff such as the blanket and the sweater.
I was shaking because I was really angry. I waited for her to finish her checking and I asked her: "what are you doing?", she answered that she saw my brother took something so I asked her to see what did she find. She found nothing in the wheel chair. I raised my voice and told her to say sorry to my mom and my brother and guess what? "I don't have to say sorry" that lady replied. I had to raise my voice three times that finally she said sorry. And even now I'm still upset because of the way she apologized, I couldn't forget what she said that day, she said" Sorry. Are you happy now?". OMG how could she apologize and she didn't mean it? The "sorry" without any sincerity.
Then I asked her why a lot of people went out the store and she only checked my mother and my brother. However, she kept telling me that she saw my brother took something from the store. She was really stupid! I told her she should shut her mouth, "You blind, you did not see anything." I said. One of the employees told me to calm down otherwise they would ask me to leave the store. That's so weird, isn't it? My family I came to the store to shop to bring business for their company, right?"
Nevertheless, the store's alarm didn't beep at all so I don't think she has the right to check my mom and there they wanted to kick us out of the store! How's nice! Now, let's come back to my story, I went back to the register to pay my stuff and I thought that lady was one of the employee so after finish my paying, I asked that lady's name. Both of the employees at the register told me that she wasn't employee in the store. Once again, I got so much angry. Then I asked them "why you guys let that lady do such a fucking idiot thing like that?" Guys, I'm so sorry for spoke those bad words but guess how angry I was and if you guys were me I believed you would do the same thing.
I continued,"I'm your customer, you need to protect me" The male employee told me that lady was also his customer too and he mentioned that she shopped there a lot. See how knowledge he is! He did not understand that 1$ or 1000$ both of these amount are still money. How many time does people shop there doesn't matter. 1 times or 1000 times still their customer. It have to be fair between people and people, guys. Does he know that he shouldn't address me that lady shopes there a lot? I think he doesn't. I don't care if she shops a lot or not.
I asked their name and the female employee told me that she is Ruth Ricky, she is the store manager. All of them guided me from this surprise to another surprise. She didn't act or say anything when the incident happened. She did not understand that no one have right to search anybody. If you are not sure that person steal and if you sure, still, you can not search or touch anyone, you should call security involved. But the manager just stood there and watched the lady checked my mom without saying anything.
After all she so pround of her self and said "I'm the store manager and do you want the customer service phone number as well?'' All I can do was open my eyes and shut my mouth, I couldn't speak a word because of how professional that manager was and how much experience she has.
In inclusion, I'd like to say that I'm so upset at how my family and I were treated at Calvin Klein store, especially is my mom who 78 years old and had cancer stage 4 and under chemotherapy,we had a hard time and we've been trying our best to help my mom go through this hard time. Why I felt so angry? Because we felt insulted and discriminated by the poor customer service.
They don't know how to respect the elder people. They have no knowledge to understand the clue of the story and was not professional enough to solve the problem. I felt so shame for them to be representative for their company. read more
