I just realized that there is a Police office on the lower floor of the mall. That, to me, is a great resource for any mall to have and yet I've rarely seen one. So way to go Altamonte for being pro-active. Also, I wanted to mention that Black Friday starts at 12:01am here at the mall with a big event. Rockin Shoppin Eve will bring in the Christmas shopping season with a bang. Coffee will be served and sales will be had if you are able to stay awake after your Turkey dinner and be ready to go at midnight. read more

This mall gets the job done for me. I lived in an apartment complex right behind the mall which was good and bad (for my wallet lol). Now I live between Oviedo mall and altamonte, still prefer this one. Altamonte mall has the main stores that I love to shop at. Macy's, Express, Apple, MAC, Teavana, White House/Black Market, Francesca's and H&M. This mall does not get as hectic as Florida or Millennium. AMC is close by as well which makes for a great shopping/movie date. Well maintained mall. It has two floors with a variety of stores to shop at. Hungry?? Having being brought up in Orlando, I never really had a chance to make it out to Altamonte. This area was foreign to me because it is quite far from SW Orlando. I had no idea until I came to their mail, that it was so enjoyable. It's definitely a mall of good size and functionality but without the craziness of the other malls in central Florida. Ah, the quintessential suburban American mall. Altamonte Mall has been there for me since I first moved to Fern Park 18 years ago. When I moved away from the area, I'd always come back here during Christmas while visiting family. The mall has changed slowly over time, but the basic structure remains the same. The food court is still pretty good. Any food court sporting a Cinnabon, Chick-Fil-A, and the typical Chinese place is good in my book. The Department Stores like Macy's, Dillard's, JC Penney, and Sears are all decent. The addition of the Barnes n Noble a few years ago killed the smaller Walden Books, but the change ended up being for the better. Classics like Hot Topic, Spencer Gifts, and the artist formerly known as electronics boutique still reside at the mall. The exterior of the mall is unique in the different levels you get based on the different elevations of the parking lot. Interesting design. The new restaurant, Elephant Bar, is an Asian Fusion restaurant whose food is great and for a decent cost. The only negative, yet necessary addition to the mall has been the AMC Altamonte 18. It killed my childhood favorite, the Altamonte 8, but didn't fail to attract the hordes of Middle Schoolers that infested its corridors. Parking is now very difficult and ticket prices are outrageous. Their latest policy was to remove student discounts! It was necessary, however, due to the population surge in Altamonte Springs at the turn of the millenium. read more

Yeah, so this mall has some great initiatives in place like the walking club, but I really wish they would curb the overpowering stale oil smells coming from the food vendors. There is a popcorn smell that especially makes me nauseous. Otherwise good selection of upmarket stores, now if only there was a Lush store, I would be in shopping heaven. read more

This is hands-down the best mall in the area. Millenia has some nice stores, but the pricing puts it Out Of Reach for most normal people. Overall, we really enjoy the small. It's large, extremely walkable, and as a large selection of stores that interest us. There is always ample parking, it's very well lit inside, and kept at a temperature is comfortable. The food court is also very large with a good number of options, including the typical fares that you will see it most malls. Honestly, I wouldn't waste my time at other malls and would just come to this one unless they don't have a specific store you're looking for. read more

Between this and the STC I would definitely choose this. It's the higher end of the two and it still has its Barns & Noble, can't beat that really. A nice mix of high end and your usual stores like Hot Topic and Bath & Body Works but no Sephora which is a bit of a bummer. read more

While this mall is a bit out of the way for me, I still like to go here second to Millenia to broaden my shopping options. They have a good variety of stores, including my current favorite (G by Guess, Guess' cheap ugly step sister). Of course they also have the expected department stores (Macy's, Dilliards) and clothing stores (Abercrombie, Gap, AE). The way this mall is set up makes it never seem crowded...or maybe it never is, but either way I appreciate it. In the surrounding area within walking distance is Bahama Breeze, Elephant Bar, and Seasons 52, if you feel like skipping out on the delicious food court. read more

Props for being 2 stories with a decent amount of stores and being close to my house. The variety and quality of stores are nothing spectacular. When given the choice I would rather go to FL or Millenia Mall. One thing about Altamonte mall is that it is usually pretty empty of people which makes shopping a little nicer. It has been around forever though and I remember when there was only this mall and Fashion Square. Hmmm... I guess I'm dating myself. Anyway, it has been updated a few times and now has a nice AMC movie theater nearby as well as a Season's 52, Ale House and Bahama Breeze all within walking distance of the mall. Awesome Altamonte! Altamonte Mall is one of my favorite malls in the Orlando area. It is quaint, away from the city hustle and bustle, and has a very atmospheric element to it. The Good: Come and Chill!: There are a million places to sit and just take a breather here, which is great when you're doing some marathon shopping, And the fact that there's a little river nearby just makes this mall feel tranquil instead of busy. Crowded?: I've been to this place several times, and I have never seen this place full of people. This could have something to do with the fact that I normally shop in the evenings, BUT I still count it as a good thing. The Bad: Generic Stores: Unlike Millenia, or even Florida Mall, there's nothing at Altamonte that really screams for a special trip. You've got all the basic mall department and specialty stores, and besides those, you're really just looking at stuff you've already seen. I really like Altamonte because it's relatively small and is almost never crowded. However, if you're looking for a unique shopping experience I would recommend somewhere else. This is your standard mall. Not bad for the area, but it's definitely nothing special; I actually used to work at this mall so it's safe to say that I've spent a fair amount of time here. Not too busy during the week but crammed on the weekends and an utter nightmare during the Holidays (But then again, what mall isn't?). Decent food court, decent sized stores like the Barnes & Noble, but one thing I hate(d) about this mall was that god awful popcorn stand right smack dab in the middle of the place. The strong aroma of butter and grease is enough to make your head pound and almost wanting to grab nose plugs or something. Overall, decent enough mall, but definitely not my go to. read more

I really liked this mall! It wasn't as busy as I'm used to because it's a little further away from all the tourists. The mall was clean over all and had plenty of parking. It also had all the stores I needed to go to, and I had no problem navigating my way around! read more

Nice size mall. 2 stories with all the right stores. Looking like this mall has seen better times as a lot of stores looked closed. There also appeared to be a lot of construction going on. Parking was great. Big Red Bus parked outside the movie threatre giving away 2 tickets if you donate. Did not looked packed to the gills at all. Really enjoy the Gap store here and the Bath and Body works. Good selection at Charming Charlie's and H&M. Easy to get into and out of. Nice size food court. read more

This is one of the better malls in Central Florida. It has the usual mall stores and some specialty ones as well. The food court has some good options including chick fil a, a pho place and an indian place. The amc theater is outside. Lots of parking available as well and the mall is close to a lot of restaurants. read more

I like this mall.. the parking isn't an issue due to there being several exits and entrances if you take the time to drive around. It helps in avoiding bottle necking. It's always been neat and the access between the stores is good. read more

It's always been a nice mall but they are doing a lot of construction. I came to get new sneakers for my kids but the traffics and parking was a challenge. The mall is very nice is has a mix of low and higher end stores. I like that fact the mall had a lot to offer. read more

I'd recommend this mall to anyone other than black men. They might have security follow you around in every store you shop at regularly. Doesn't matter if you've spent thousands over the years at their stores. Went into Aldo... reached for MY WALLET to spend MY money on accessories that I liked and apparently sales associate with blonde hair thought I was reaching for the wallets they sold in their store . Went into zumiez last week... security somehow happened to show up. Bought my items, left. Went into champs a few weeks earlier... bought a 200$ pair of Lebrons. Security somehow found their way into the store shortly after I arrived. Been coming to this mall since age 13. I'm 26 now. That's half my life. I have been going to this mall before I could even walk. I remember the day they got a food court and I even had my 3rd birthday at a restaurant in the mall. I spent many hours during my teen years walking around thinking I was cool. This is still my go to mall when I need something from a particular store. Unlike Florida and Millenia you dont have to jump over people or piles of clothing. I also love that its mostly all locals so your not getting hit by people who are carrying 50 bags with their Disney tshirts on. The food court has gone through many revamps and what other mall has an Indian place in there food court. Parking is almost never a problem if you park on the back side away from 436. They have most of the big name affordable stores which I love. Only down side of the mall is on Friday nights and weekends it is filled with lots of teens but I guess I cant say anything about that because I was one of them years ago. read more

The mall is a bit far away to just go and pass the time when bored, but overall, it is a nice mall. It is a shame that the movie theatre is not attached but oh well. This is a mall that I don't get to venture out to often because it's literally on the other side of town from where I live, but it is a favorite. Maybe it's because I don't go there often or because it's not Waterford Lakes, where I shop most of the time, but whatever the reason the Altamonte Mall has a good mixture of shops, eateries and randomness. The newest addition is the Apple store, which I'm sure is long awaited by those Apple-addicts in the area. Among the other shops, Guess, Forever 21 and the department stores are the ones I frequent. I'm not one to follow or keep up with fashion, but this mall makes me feel somewhat in the know. I always leave with a good amount of stuff...and it's not hard to find a great deal. either Another aspect about this mall that's appealing is that it's mostly locals who shop here, which is nice. Parking is pretty well organized and I've never had a problem finding a spot. However, this mall gets rather busy during the holidays and since it's very close to I-4 it makes traffic hellish trying to get in and out of there. Perhaps another reason I avoid this place at times. Overall, I'm a fan...but wish it were just a bit closer. read more

I think that this mall is a decent one. Parking is good, it never seems that crowded (to me, anyway). I like the options in the food court, there's a good number of choices. I like that there is an F.Y.E. here, too. I've never noticed a smell that most of the Yelpers on here complained about, so take that with a grain of salt. (Yes, I've been in Dillard's.) Also, as opposed to what people are saying on here, this isn't a dead-mall in the making, and it doesn't have a bunch of weird people walking around. Teenagers will be around on the weekend, it's what they do. There aren't an unmanageable amount of them. This place is just fine. Recommended. read more

Malls have been slowly dying across Central Florida, but Altamonte Mall has persevered. Ample parking, a great movie theater, a decent food court, and the usual suspects of mall tenants has allowed this mall to stay alive over the years. It's not fancy or upscale like Millenia, but it holds its own. read more

Very cool mall I love it they have all sorts of great shops I purchased all kinds of clothes and the food court has a nice selection and the coin shop was also cool I purchased some silver at a reasonable price. Very nice mall. This isn't the closest mall to us. Oviedo and Waterford are closer for us. Being new to the area, we decided to check this mall out and we were not disappointed. We spent nearly 5 hours here walking through the mall and having lunch. Food court provided a nice variety, pretty much the typical food court offerings, nothing wrong with that. Mall was clean and staff was friendly. Not sure if we'll be making our way out here much as it's a 35 minute drive for us. I suppose if we needed something like the Apple Store, this would be the one to go to. Great way to spend a day. Our daughter loved Build A Bear and chose a bear nearly as tall as her to bring home with us. Stores are pretty typical for a mall, nothing out of the ordinary. Availability of parking was better than average though I would attribute that to going on a weekday afternoon. Mall wasn't too crowded when we arrived but it go noticeably busier towards the time we were leaving. read more

Came to this mall to visit the dentist. The mall is ok but not as good as others around Orlando. I would not make a trip here to shop unless I was going to a specific item at a specific store. The BN is one of those places to visit here or build a bear. read more

Giving 3 stars because the mall itself was great! But the Charlotte Russe in the mall was not good at all. It was nearing closing time and I was trying to check out and get out of the mall before everyone started to leave, but the two women working in Charlotte Russe completely ignored me and preceded to have their own conversation glancing at me while I waited in front of them at the register for at least 5 minutes. I have no problem waiting as long as you acknowledge me standing there. Absolutely horrible customer service, I didn't get to check out as they would not help me so I left my things on the counter while they watched me leave. Cannot stress how awful the customer service was at the Charlotte Russe. Will not be retuning. read more

Hands down the second best mall in Central Florida, only behind The Florida Mall. Barnes and Noble. Apple store. And coming soon a Boxed Lunch. Food court is fairly decent too. Taco Bell. Chick Filet. And Diary Queen and Cinnabon downstairs. Nice atmosphere and easy parking. And a great AMC movie theatre adjacent. Also, right next to Crane's Roost, a beautiful lake front park with a beautiful path and fun events held often, makes this place an all day trip. Not to mention several stand alone casual restaurants. Definitely a favorite spot of mine. read more

I am shocked that this mall has such a good rating! I can only imagine this has been done by employees. If you're from around this area you know the mall reeks of mold, so much so that you can't even purchase clothes from Dillards and bring them home because they smell. Dillards is now over deodorizing their store trying to disguise the disgusting mold smell. You will have a headache in 5 mins. The mall has better stores than Seminal Town Center in Sanford yet still leaves a lot to to be desired. If you need to run in for a quick gift but certainly not a mall you want to hang out in for any length of time. Lock your car up tight I know several people have had their car broken into. It's time they tear it down and start fresh! read more

It's ok as far as malls go. Lots of young kids hang out here on Fridays and the weekends. Pretty dead most of the time otherwise. The McDonald's just closed in the food court so that sucks. But it is a nice chill mall so still worth a trip if you're up for some shopping. read more

I've only been here once but I LOVE this mall!! It has great stores (H&M, Forever 21, Express, and others). I actually didn't have time to really browse around since I was in a rush and on a mission looking for specific clothing (business professional). I found a black blazer at H&M and also a black dress to wear underneath of that. I got a pearl necklace and pearl earrings at Forever 21. and BAM my professional outfit was done! To eat they have my favorite place ever, Chick-Fil-A, and also some awesome frozen yogurt place...yummy! Two stories, large mall. I've never been to the Mall of Millenia (which is supposedly the best mall ever in Orlando), but this mall was good. read more

This is an older mall and you can definitely tell that by the smell that hits you upon entering. There is nothing special about this mall as it has the usual stores that you would expect for a local mall. If your looking for better stores take a short drive down I-4 to the Millennium Mall or the Outlets or 35min drive to the Florida Mall if you want better stores without the heavy smell of musty carpet. read more
