Today, I came out of Barnes & Noble, in my powerchair with my service dog and stopped to look at my map on my phone to get my bearings and figure out where I was going next, when the security guard pulled up in his little golf cart and told me I couldn't be there cuz I had a service dog (on a leash and with the service dog vest on). I thought I heard him wrong so I asked him to clarify and he said I'm going to arrest you if you don't move. Like WTF! The other day I was in the crosswalk and a truck barreled thru the stop sign and nearly hit me and my service dog yet security was no where to be found then and when I did find one to report it he acted like it was a bother for him to even fill out an incident report because obviously cars have the right away even if you are in the crosswalk. I should have been more careful. While I like going to Walgreens, Barnes & Noble, Sprouts, Hobby Lobby, Staples, Ross, Five Below & more. I'm not going back to Colonial Town Center and those businesses will lose my business. I don't feel safe and I feel like the Black Security officers are using reverse discrimination on me because I'm a white older disabled guy in a power chair with a Service Dog. They are protected because being prejudiced against the disabled is allowed in this country and no one cares.

This plaza is well maintained and offers a lot of parking. I came here originally primarily for Sprouts, but have found a lot of great stores and restaurants here. I particular like Adjectives and Barnes and Noble is an old favorite. For restaurants, there are not only plenty here in the plaza, but there are also a lot more in the general area. With all the reasons listed above, this is a good plaza to head towards.

I remember when they used to be a little Chinese place called Jim-Bo that I'm fresh and delicious Chinese food, now it's some rowing studio I believe, sad to see it go. Small cakes, Menchie's, Tijuana flats, and toasted or among the few that I remember when they were added to the shopping area and are still there. Most of the other shops have changed hands over the years. I also miss the little vintage shop that was there, and Christine's nails. I still love walking around here after shopping at sprouts

Shops include Pier 1 Imports, Hallmark, Big Lots, Ross, Ulta, Bealls, Hobby Lobby, Total Wine, Old Navy, Babies R Us, Walgreens, Barnes and Noble, Bulk Nation, and more! Restaurants / food places include Burrito Kitchen, Chick-fil-A, Ale House, Too Jays, and a couple more. This is a great and convenient place to find shops close by without having to drive to malls further away that have the same shops. It's a downer that during the summer months, this place is really hard to get from shop to shop without having to jump back in your car and move. It's around 90 - 105 degrees in the summer, so walking all the way across this giant lot to get from, example, Total Wine to Old Navy, would make you melt. Overall: A Convenient, but too spread out.

Currently the Colonial Plaza has a couple of big box stores and a little bit of everything else tossed in. You will find discount stores, speciality stores, restaurants and personal services. Parking is adequate and you can usually find a space close to where you want to shop. The mall has spread out a lot over the years so if you are doing a large amount of shopping you will probably move your car around or stop by to drop off purchases before hitting another store.

I do like the fact that it is close in proximity to a gas station (not sure of the name) which is always good for the last minute shopper. They can stop there and get gas on the way home from a quick stop at the shopping center. Overall good, but needs work.
