When I made my initial appointment I provided my insurance information…read more When I came for my appointment I was told that my insurance did not cover hearing aids. After the audiology intern completed the hearing test she said she didn't have time to fit me for hearing aids even though when I made the appointment I had told the scheduler that I was coming for a hearing test and hearing aids I waited in the waiting room until the intern saw her next client and then she fitted me for the hearing aids. Since I didn't have coverage for the hearing aids she said the price for highest technology was $6100. I opted for next level down at $5100 and I would have to pay at that time. When I went to pay at the front desk I was told that I could pay when I picked the hearing aids up and that Dr. Curtis sometimes gets better prices. A few days later I discovered that my insurance DOES have a hearing aid discount plan (through AARP). AND that Rocky Mountain Hearing and Balance are one of the AARP providers. Bottom line, I could have gotten the hearing aids for about $3600 instead of $6100 but they failed to let me know about this - even though they were aware of my insurance benefits. After purchasing top level technology hearing aids from a licensed audiologist for a couple of thousand dollars less at the University of Utah I emailed Rocky Mountain Hearing and Balance to let them know why I did not return to pick up the hearing aids from them. They failed to acknowledge or respond. ***addendum - A few weeks later, after taking the time to investigate the issues and speak with staff, Chris Curtis responded to my email with a thoughtful, kind apology. If I hadn't already purchased hearing aids from the University of Utah I would have returned to this practice. The staff are warm and friendly and seem to genuinely like working there. I have changed my rating from one star to four despite the problems I had, which as it turns out were unintentional.

I was initially helped by an optometrist for some preliminary screening before the doctor came in and she was great. Personable and kind. Highlight = Dr. Young…read more This is the best eye care exam I have ever received in Utah and maybe anywhere in my life. There's a doctor here who reminds me of Patch Adam's. He is kind and patient, treats his staff well (even if they failed to recognize his kind training queues ). He happens ta be rather funny as well. My children would be at home under his supervision. The blonde woman who first took care of me was amazing and the Hispanic(?) lady who helped me check out saved me by calling out before I could leave that I had forgotten my prescription paper I needed for my job. Did I ferget ta mention the front desk attendant was always smiling authentically and described the forms I had to provide for my first time visit with precision? The selection of eyewear looked like it'd be worth seeing and I plan to shop at this eye care center in the future because of the team working there.

Since my last fusion I've continued to suffer greatly, unable to work, do daily chores, and just live without struggling with this pain. Well, I had another MRI and EMG and another nerve study done. I followed through on everything I was told I should do by the PA's in his office and even though a different doctor. And they proceeded to shut me down regarding the pain, stiffness and tightness, to name a few issues, and then proceeded to dismiss me from their care and told me to go find a new Neurologist because they didn't think I was a good candidate for surgery. First, please go over my test results, second, suggest a couple of different Neurologist's, third, just because I might not need another fusion right away, I still deserve to be treated like I was treated before each of my surgeries!! One last thing, in 2019 when I went back to see Dr. Pingree to go over a recent MRI which was ordered by a different doctor, he proceeded to yell at me and asked me why I didn't come in to him! Okay, I guess when you are no longer a good surgical specimen everyone in that office treats you like your out of your mind and that you have no idea what is happening within your own body?!?!? As far as I go, I'm extremely in touch with the going's on within my body and expect to be treated better that just a paycheck!!! So now I'm without a Neurologist and have no idea who's good, compassionate and loyal to their patients!?!?!? I'm very sad and in complete dismay!! Good luck!!!

I can be a difficult eye patient, with all the machines, and probing, and prodding around my eyes. Each time they remind me that I need to get my eyes dilated, in order to have a proper eye exam. When I make my eye appointment it is during banker hours, and therefore I have to get back to work. I haven't had my eyes dilated for a few years now, due to the downtime, it takes for your eyes to be able to read printed words. I just found out that they are open on some Saturdays, and that I could make a Saturday appointment, that way I wouldn't have to take anytime off work. On a less than positive side, Keirsten the assistant, was very condescending, and borderline rude. I would also, like to see the "intake" machines updated. They remind me of old school eye exams where you covered one eye with your hand.
