Please note in my experience the average business is one which looks out solely for themselves. This is your average business. I've attended this Alta Mere three different times. It's clear they'll try to cut corners on labor costs as they rush when the time spent gets close to an hour (2 out of 3 times this has happened). For example, my last visit I had them remove adhesive on my front windshield. The adhesive was from their tint which I removed personally due to deterioration. They charged me $70.00 just to remove the adhesive. I was unable to remove this adhesive myself so I was essentially out of options. The finish product: a dirty windshield where chemical drips were left in three areas, chemical build up on the dash, my inspection sticker on the front seat which obviously was shot with chemicals, they only cleaned 95-98% of the adhesive, adhesive globs (think of paint stripper left overs) in two spots and to top it all off... they rolled down my rear passenger window (the power window regulator is bad for this window... They have no business lowering that window when they only were supposed to be in the front windshield). One might ask how did I know they rolled down the window? You can't see what they're doing in the shop. When they gave me my car back the window was stuck down. All the way down. They didn't even explain anything about the window! After numerous tries the window worked by the grace of god... Maybe they kiss your ass if your wealthy or appear to be. This is just like any other business to me. read more

I brought in my truck for warranty repair from a tint job from 2003 from another Alta Mere location that is no longer open. After calling Alta Mere corporate and providing documentation they connected me to to Dave's shop in Plano. Talked with Dave twice on the phone and then came in for the repair. Dave and team were very courteous and fast. I was treated just like a new customer and not a low priority warranty job. I would highly recommend Dave and his team. read more

Did a lot of research and wanted a reputable installer with a local shop that has been around for awhile. They have been in their same location for 16 years, so if I need repair or warranty work I know they will still be there. I spoke with Randy and he walked me through my options and recommended their lifetime warranty film. Arrived at 8:00 am Satarday morning and was out the door at 9:01am! I was shocked how quickly the job was completed on my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. No bubbles, creases or any other flaws (I am certified OCD). Film looks as if it is die cut to match contours of glass as the fit around the factory defroster elements is super clean. Great service and great price for the level of quality. read more

Excellent customer service. Went up on Saturday and was told they were booked but asked if I wanted an appointment for the next Saturday at 8 am. Arrived the next Saturday at 7:50 am and they were open. They took the time to explain the various tint options and I dropped the car off and they called me when it was done. I went to pick up the car and they explained their work and what I should expect as the tint drying process occurred over the next two - three days. Very satisfied with the tinting as the car is noticeably cooler during the day. No issues with the work that was done. read more

Professional, fairly priced, excellent and timely work - "As good as it gets!" for sure. Had my daughter's car done 1 1/2 years ago with ceramic tint and still looks perfect. Just had my conversion van (front's only) tinted and it matches great - super fast service. I recently was given an older Honda and the antique window tinting was purple, crackled, and impaired vision. Alta Mere on Plano Parkway made room in their schedule to strip off the tattered tinting and replace it with gorgeous warranteed WINCO tinting. I did the math, and the slightly more expensive tint would only cost me pennies a year. THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE IS NOW HIGHER SIMPLY BASED ON THE QUALITY TINTING. I have been a long term customer of Alta Mere. I have had alarms put in 4 different cars and window tint on at least 3. I have been very pleased every time. But this time they topped themselves. I was having trouble with my automatic door locks and after visiting the dealership they felt it was probably an alarm issue. I have had the alarm for almost 7 years and expected to have to replace it, but instead of just trying to sell me a new alarm they actually researched the problem and found out I just needed a new relay. Scheduling was a breeze. Service received and install team were great. Windows tinted in about an hour. They demonstrated the tint process, showed the automation on how the tint is mechanically cut to match the vehicle windows and even let me watch part of the install process. I first went to Alta Mere about six years ago for an all-around tint job on my new car. After all those years of parking outside in the brutal Texas heat, the tint looked just as great on the day that I sold it as it did the day I had it put on. Naturally, when I bought a new truck this past February I knew exactly where I needed to go! My truck already had dark tint on the rear window and the rear cab windows, with just a little tint on the windows up front. The guys at Alta Mere matched up the front perfectly so I could get that clean, even look at all angles. I appreciate that a lot of their tint packages come with an excellent warranty, and that they don't even mess around with requests that aren't state legal. If you really like being pulled over or replacing cracked/bubbly tint every other year, then by all means - go for it. But if you want fast and fair pricing/service, definitely head to Alta Mere! read more

I purchased a new vehicle from a dealership that uses Alta Mere as a preferred vendor. My car was taken to be tinted the following week, but when it came back from Alta Mere the back seat was stained. I also noticed that all but one window had an obscene amount of bubbling, but I assumed it was normal, gave them the benefit of the doubt, and waited 2 months for the bubbling to disappear. When that didn't happen, the dealership took the car back to have everything re-done. I guess it pissed Alta Mere off because they left a policy sheet on my front seat and highlighted the part that says, "A 5% tolerance for imperfection is allowable and will be accepted as perfect work." Sorry, 5% imperfection is not perfect; 0% imperfection is. To top it off, they stained the hell out of my headliner the second time around. Even the guys at the dealership were appalled at the damage Alta Mere did to my car. Bottom line: they do half-ass work and retaliate when you bring it to their attention and ask them to do it right. Here's a hint guys: it takes a lot less time and effort to just do it right the first time. read more
