Jason and Al did a stand-up job with my bike. 10 out of 10 recommend. Jason knew immediately why my bike had a flat tire, and was helpful with teaching me how the bike works, and giving other feedback regarding my bike seat and handles. Wow. Thanks again guys. I'll be back!

I had a 10/10 experience at Als Re-Cycles! Jason helped me to find a perfect, used beach cruiser. He fixed it up for me and set me up with a basket, lights, and a u lock. He spent a lot of time customizing the bike for me, making sure it was comfortable to ride. The bike was a super great price as well. Thank you to Als Re-Cycles! I'm very grateful for this experience.

amazing people great service they fixed my bike that I haven't used for years now back to new recommend this place

Al got our bikes ready to roll for the ciclyvia event on the spot. New tires and a new seat. Very satisfy with the service and the fast work. I will definitely go back for my bike service needs.

I posted this ad to all Offer Up users describing my bad experience with Al, the owner of Al's Re-Cycles

Honest, quick and reliable services. They changed my bicycle tire tube and pedals on the same day. I will be back! Thanks Al!

A rare gem of a bike shop--Atomic Cycles and Paul are the real deal…read more If you're lucky enough to stumble across Atomic Cycles in North Hollywood, you've found something special--an old-school, no-frills, soul-of-cycling kind of place. This isn't some sleek boutique with overpriced parts and cookie-cutter service. This is Paul's shop--a one-man operation, part museum, part workshop, part time machine--and entirely awesome. I recently pulled two bikes out of storage after 25+ years of collecting dust. One was a cruiser-style 21-speed, the other my old Klein Stage Comp road bike from my triathlon days. My son is just getting into cycling, so I wanted to see if they could be resurrected. Enter Paul. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with nostalgia--cluttered racks, retro parts, classic bikes stacked everywhere, and zero e-bikes (don't even mention them--Paul will make his feelings known! ). Then you meet Paul himself: a lean, strong, greying guy in his 50s with oil-stained hands, a frayed shirt, and the calm intensity of a mad scientist-mechanic who knows his craft inside and out. He's not there to upsell you or push gimmicks. Paul is a caretaker of bicycles. He brought both my bikes back to life for a price that was literally a fraction of what the big box bike shops wanted to charge. And his work? Impeccable. No BS. Just honest, high-skill labor from someone who clearly lives and loves the cycling life. If you want e-bike talk and shiny sales floors, go elsewhere. If you want someone who treats your bike like it's a piece of living history and will get it running better than ever--go see Paul. This place is more than a bike shop--it's a living piece of cycling culture. I'm grateful I found it.

I ordered the AeroFix "Force" in blue October of 2014, shipping was decently quick but the bike…read morecame beaten up - The rear axle was significantly bent. So much that the hub will not rotate freely no matter how adjusted, the rear wheel spoke tension was so low that a few of the spokes rattle with no tension at all. A new wheel should not have this play and should be replaced by manufacturer, and the front wheel came with a broken spoke. The spoke hole on the hub was compromised to the point where I couldn't replace the spoke for risking the chance of it ripping through the hub. I contacted AeroFix right away and they said to email pictures of the damage and they would replace the wheels as soon as possible, no charge. It is now the beginning of March 2016, yes, over TWO years later, and I have a trail of emails from Aerofix about the replacement wheels which never came. On the phone they are as nice as can be, apologize for the mix up, and promise to send me new wheels as soon as possible. And then nothing happens. I even have a complaint in to the Better Business Bureau, and BBB has received no response from the company about my issue. All I want to do is ride the bike I ordered, but it's a little hard to do that with mangled wheels. I even brought it to a local shop to see if they could just fix the problem on my dime, but they said it was beyond repair. They seem to make great products, but the way they ship leaves something to desire and their customer service is completely non-existent. I want to like them, but I really need a full bike to test out to do that..

We've always had a fantastic experience here and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Yes, they often do not have a ton roaming around to help (not that they don't want to, but I just feel like they're often understaffed) but if you go up to the checkout counter to ask a question or request assistance, they will help you out immediately and with a smile. The store is also a large location and inventory is great. This location is a bit out of the way for us and further than other Big 5 locations, but we always know that they are going to have anything we need. The store is also well laid out so you can easily find what you need quickly. It's never messy when we go, despite what other people say on here, and it's just an all around good shopping experience. Honestly, if they were able to staff up a bit to have a few more employees roaming the floor outside of the shoe department, I would give this location 5 stars. Maybe I've been lucky on the dozen or so times I've been here, but I see no reason to complain about this location at all.

As it turned out, Big 5 had a far more impressive and comprehensive inventory beyond my expectations. Buying too many things quickly became a concern for me. The best part about my visit was Brenda's knowledgeable and effective assistance. Brenda answered my questions with ease, clear familiarity and confidence. It was impressive. I left with a BB gun that is a replica of the Glock 19X--which I didn't even know was available. I am very happy with my purchase. 5 stars.

With that said, once inside, they do a great job of stocking as much as possible given that this is a slightly smaller Big 5 location than others. I always make a point of coming to this location first because chances are checkout lines will be shorter and then if they don't have what I'm looking for I go up the street to the Granada Hills location. Staff here is also very friendly. They tend to only be at the register and aren't wandering around the store a ton, but I've also never really needed help finding things as the store is very well laid out and intuitive. Prices are fine. Nothing amazing, but they're better priced than other big box sporting good store chains so, once again, this is always our first stop for gear for our 3 growing kids & their youth sports gear. If you give them your email you'll get a weekly email with some good deals that often are catered to whatever sport season is about to start as well which I greatly appreciate. If not, chances are you'll get a coupon in the mail for 20% off or $5 off a purchase of $20 or more. So always keep an eye out for one of those if you know you are going to need to buy anything.
