So glad to have found Al. My kids had outgrown their bikes and after checking out a couple of other places we made it to Al's Re-Cycles. Al and his team were courteous, really helpful and pleasant to work with. Plus his prices are more than fair! My kids tried several bikes until they each found the one which spoke (pun intended) to them. Al even accommodated my youngest who wanted to add a hand brake on his new ride. I received a 1973 Vintage Schwinn that was out of commission and was eager to get it back to a original, functional state. First, I went to a few shops located in the west side of the San Fernando Valley. Granted, my efforts were futile as no other bike shops had the required parts. Alas, as my hope of restoring this piece of American history diminished, I resorted to purchase my items from an online vendor who was STILL uncertain to have them. OfferUp. Scrolling through the app, a seller had a missing piece of the puzzle! A 27'' rim! FINALLY! I quickly contacted the seller and realized that it was local bike shop in Reseda. The one and only Al's Re-Cycles. I took the carcass Schwinn and with 15 minutes, my man Al found and rounded up all the pieces necessary to get this bike rolling again. I was bored one day and wanted to finally get my Mongoose bike in working order. It had no brake cables or gears working. I needed all new cables and derailer for this bike to even be rideable. I found Al's Re-Cycles on google and I am very glad I did. I went down there for brakes first just to see what they are about and whether or not I liked them. I found him to be very knowledgeable and fair. He put new brake cables on and did a basic tune up of the brake system all while I waited. Great tiny bike shop. It will appear to you that this is a bike junk yard, but appearances can fool ya. I been looking for a beach cruiser with gears for about a year. I wanted a used one... not a new one made in China out of a box. They are difficult to find due to covid and more people are riding bikes now. Called Als and he had a 3 speed cruiser. Stopped by the shop there are bikes everywhere. Al is a very nice guy. Very helpful. Sold me the bike at a great price, offers to clean it up and modify it for me at a great price. Little shops like this need to be supported. We will definitely go back to purchase another bike and to take them in for service. Please give them a try. Some might call me old but I call me young with a few modifications. I've been looking for a good quality adult three wheel bike aka an adult tricycle. I just needed a good cruiser and wanted something that would allow me to bring my two dogs along for the ride, well, one rides in the basket and one trots along the side. I called Al and he had the coolest vintagey Sun Miami adult tricycle. Al and Jason spent a great deal of time talking to me about it and Jason adjusted it and cleaned it so it sparkled and worked like new. Jason even explained how to lean into curves on a three wheeler to stay safe. These guys are the real deal and know their stuff.
