Went to Al's because I tried to put together my son's new bike but am no bike mechanic. The brakes just weren't right and the handlebar was a little loose. They were open on the weekend and helped me right away. Service was great and reasonably priced. Angel helped us and was great, He adjusted the brakes and tightened the handlebar and we were on our way in no time. Thanks guys! read more

I took my bike to 6 specialized bike shops and nobody could fix my brakes and ALs fixed it for a very reasonable price. Strongly recommend this shop to everyone. read more

So glad to have found Al. My kids had outgrown their bikes and after checking out a couple of other places we made it to Al's Re-Cycles. Al and his team were courteous, really helpful and pleasant to work with. Plus his prices are more than fair! My kids tried several bikes until they each found the one which spoke (pun intended) to them. Al even accommodated my youngest who wanted to add a hand brake on his new ride. Al and his team cleaned up the bikes and gave them a final once over before we took them home, along with a razor scooter to boot! As for their old bikes, they are now part of Al's inventory and we hope they find new homes. I highly recommend Al! read more

Honest place Thank you for my bike. 26" beach cruiser Good prices and the owners a good guy. If you need a bike head over here read more

Update: the owner reach out and personally apologized for his employee's behavior. I told him the situation I had and explained I'm a college student and he offered to make things right. This means a lot and I will look into visiting the shop for small things when Al is around. Thank you Al Original review Biggest jerk, he's using the pandemic to over price items because everyone is deciding to go ride. I understand you need to make a profit but realistically you're a used bike shop selling 10+ year old bikes. You sell them $50 less than the original retail price. Don't bother supporting this business when all he wants to do is over charge read more

Came here to find a bike for my son and Raul's greeted us as soon as we walked up. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We ended up getting a bike. They stand behind their sales and will do repairs if there's anything wrong within 30 days. Go here, get your wheels! read more

I received a 1973 Vintage Schwinn that was out of commission and was eager to get it back to a original, functional state. First, I went to a few shops located in the west side of the San Fernando Valley. Granted, my efforts were futile as no other bike shops had the required parts. Alas, as my hope of restoring this piece of American history diminished, I resorted to purchase my items from an online vendor who was STILL uncertain to have them. OfferUp. Scrolling through the app, a seller had a missing piece of the puzzle! A 27'' rim! FINALLY! I quickly contacted the seller and realized that it was local bike shop in Reseda. The one and only Al's Re-Cycles. I took the carcass Schwinn and with 15 minutes, my man Al found and rounded up all the pieces necessary to get this bike rolling again. Not only was he incredibly humble, he is also very knowledgeable bicycle mechanic as he realized my front rim had no bearings and took the time to fix it for me as I waited. I will definitely be returning to Al's Re-Cycles for all my bicycle needs! read more

Looks sketch but the guy is good and pretty cheap compared to the other shops around him. fixed both tires and replaced my broken wheel for a new used one. Cost was $78. read more

Don't let the outside fool you. Hidden gem in the wall. Honestly best service I have had with a bike store. If I could give more stars I would. I called to ask about getting a inner tube replaced. Guy on the phone told me if I dropped it off today I would get it tomorrow morning. Which I was fine with. Showed up with my wheel in hand since I had taken it part before showing up. Guy says "oh your the one that called, no worries I'll get it done for you now." Start working on my replacement inner tube. I started timing him because I wanted to see how efficient he could be. And let me tell you he was very efficient. Had my tire up and ready in 4 minutes and 51 seconds. AMAZING!! They have truly earned my business moving forward. read more

Took a a used bike we found in the alley trash pile and they filled up the tires with air and lifted the seat. The guys were very nice and accommodating and quick. Told us if the tires go flat in a few days just bring it back and we can put in a new tube. And off we went. read more

I was bored one day and wanted to finally get my Mongoose bike in working order. It had no brake cables or gears working. I needed all new cables and derailer for this bike to even be rideable. I found Al's Re-Cycles on google and I am very glad I did. I went down there for brakes first just to see what they are about and whether or not I liked them. I found him to be very knowledgeable and fair. He put new brake cables on and did a basic tune up of the brake system all while I waited. He didn't just do the work he explained everything he was doing as well. Being very satisfied I came back a week later to have him work on my gears. Again he superceded my expectations, I had some more missing parts and minor issues, and he took a lot more time than he anticipated to make sure I was happy. I am extremely satisfied with the service, personality, and professional demeanor of Al's Re-Cycles. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. You will not get ripped off or taken advantage of at Al's Re-Cycles. read more

First time ever going here the other night with my buddy who recommended this place. Super lowkey super hidden and not what I maybe expected in my head but TOTALLY worth it. Jason helped me with my brand new Cervelo and I trusted him to handle with care. He was full of knowledge and schooled me on some things as well. He was very patient with all of my questions, genuine, and not pretentious like other cycle shops I've been to. Pricing is absolutely reasonable. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for good honest service. AND they're open later than most bike shops just sayin...Thank you Jason! read more

Great tiny bike shop. It will appear to you that this is a bike junk yard, but appearances can fool ya. I been looking for a beach cruiser with gears for about a year. I wanted a used one... not a new one made in China out of a box. They are difficult to find due to covid and more people are riding bikes now. Called Als and he had a 3 speed cruiser. Stopped by the shop there are bikes everywhere. Al is a very nice guy. Very helpful. Sold me the bike at a great price, offers to clean it up and modify it for me at a great price. Little shops like this need to be supported. We will definitely go back to purchase another bike and to take them in for service. Please give them a try. Only thing I noticed was hours change a lot, so call to make sure they are open. read more

Great experience at this shop. Al is a great and helpful guy. We got there about 45 minutes before he closed and stayed until an hour after while Al went out of his way to make sure we got the bikes we were happy with. I originally went to buy my son a bike, who literally learned how to ride in front of the store. Ended up leaving with bikes for my son, wife, and myself. Good deals and a good selection. I highly recommend buying your bike from Al's Re-Cycles. He even helped me install the bike rack on my car. read more

Some might call me old but I call me young with a few modifications. I've been looking for a good quality adult three wheel bike aka an adult tricycle. I just needed a good cruiser and wanted something that would allow me to bring my two dogs along for the ride, well, one rides in the basket and one trots along the side. I called Al and he had the coolest vintagey Sun Miami adult tricycle. Al and Jason spent a great deal of time talking to me about it and Jason adjusted it and cleaned it so it sparkled and worked like new. Jason even explained how to lean into curves on a three wheeler to stay safe. These guys are the real deal and know their stuff. If you see a youngish 70 ish with Toto in her basket and a large black bear with cattle dog legs trotting behind, that's me!!! But, seriously, go see Al and Jason! read more

This place is great! Took my beach cruiser that was weather beaten and Al brought it back to life, made it look and ride beautifully. He did such a great job I brought in an old GT bmx in and he did great on that too! Both times, my bike was ready before the quoted date. read more

Needed a gear "adjustment," on a recently purchased used bike and decided to take it to Al because of the reviews. So happy the reviews were correct. Turned out my bike's gear shift was broken. Al had the replacement in stock and did the work as my husband waited. Not more than an hour later I had my bike back home and was riding it around my neighborhood. The price was very fair. He was very helpful and informative. I will definitely be going back if another issue arises. Thank you Al! read more

FANTASTIC - FRIENDLY - PROFESSIONAL - REASONABLY PRICED - These are just some of the many positive words that come to mind when I think of how this fine gentleman assisted my son and I this afternoon. My son blew out an inner tube with a pothole a few weeks back and replaced it himself then ended up replacing the tire as well, but it had a terrible wobble. We called up Al's Re-Cycles and asked about it and he said that it sounded like a simple problem and to bring it by. We loaded up the bike and went over to be greeted with a hardy handshake by Al himself. We explained that we called earlier and he remembered the possible alignment issue. He immediately put it up on a rack and as soon as he saw the issue, removed the tire and adjusted it perfectly. I know from now on whenever my family has an issue with our bikes, there is only one place we will go from now on. Thank you Al, It was a pleasure doing business with you! read more

I just moved to the valley a couple of months ago and had the luck of finding this little gem. It's a small, locally-owned bike shop run by a friendly guy (Al) who honestly seems to have a passion for what he does, which is a rare quality to find nowadays. My wife and I came here to fix a flat tire on our tandem bike, and Al truly went above and beyond to get us going. Prices were a real bargain and I was completely satisfied with his work and hospitality - he also guarantees his work! I will definitely come back for any future bike needs and will strongly recommend to anyone needing a quick fix or bicycle tune up. Bonus: he accepts cash, Venmo, and PayPal or credit card (with 3% transaction fee). read more
