Our home was one of the three model homes in the subdivision but over the years, this tree slowly morphed into the leaning tower of Pisa. Occasionally, branches would get so heavy that they would break off. We had another similar tree in the backyard and we had some stumps to remove. All in all, there was a lot of work to be done. I reached out to Chandler Tree Service and one other company and Devon Chandler contacted me and we met on a Friday afternoon. Devon's tree knowledge is impressive. If there was a category of Dendrology, scientific study of trees, on Jeopardy, Devon would sweep the board. He speaks with such passion about each tree, its tendencies, how it grows, and why it grows. I could even sense that if he put his hand on the trunk of the tree, he could feel its heart and soul. He provided an estimate for all and he asked if I needed to speak to another service and I decided not to. We settled on a date and he provided an estimate via email. Today was the day. The crew arrived with their foreman Ray. They huddled before getting started and systematically began work on phases simultaneously. One crewmember went to the backyard roped himself to the tree and began to execute a tier 2 trim while another crewmember began the work on the stumps. While in the front yard, a crew worked efficiently together to surgically chainsaw branches and feed them into the chipper. They were all very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. After about 40 minutes, I brought each team member a cold bottle of water and thanked them for their work. The end result is stunning. The front yard no longer has a leaning tower of a tree, the trimmed tree in the backyard looks amazing, and I can't wait to mow the backyard without the stumps. Basic business... do what you say you are going to do, and do it. In my experience Parker Tree Service's employee Chad apparently didn't get informed of the motto. I called Parker Tree Service on Sep. 17 to get a bid to prune up my trees. Chad showed up and we had a good conversation about my trees. I have nearly a decade of previous experience as a professional applicator. I know trees fairly well and felt Chad was in the know and i trusted him. He was in no hurry to move on and he was good at bullshitting, it was a great experience. Having said that, I can see why its hard for him/them to keep a schedule. when he was done at my place he went over to my neighbors house and talked to them for quite a while... really nice of him, but you see why it could be hard to do what you said to your other customer that is booked for the next appointment when Chad has no sense of time? On October 1 I sent Chad a text and asked him if he had a chance to get a bid worked up for me. He told me right then that he had it almost done and was going to be sending out bids the following day. Nothing.... So I patiently waited. October 17, I texted Chad. "Hey buddy just following up on that bid" READ notification showed up on his side..... no response. so I waited one hour and texted him again.... READ notification but no response, texted again... same thing. He was clearly not following the motto, and was ignoring me. So I called the office. the person that answered was friendly and seemed to be appalled about the situation. she said someone would call me about this. I am guessing it was a manager or owner maybe that called me. She had no concern about the situation. She told me that Chad had been sick a while ago, and was definitely not ignoring me. At the same time, or maybe a second before they sent me my bid. So the lady told me "Chad already sent your bid...I can see its sent right here." What a joke. I was looking for a local company who would "Do what they say" but Parker is definitely not the place! Local, yes... INTEGRITY....NO! I told Chad not to worry about it, his company thinks he is the bees knees and he has nothing to worry about. He is a really tree smart guy, but he just cant do what he says and nobody seems to give a shit. As a local business owner I cannot support this kind of lack of customer service.
