I live in a condominium project and Emerald has been spraying a pest control to our foundations for the last few years. I have a garden window in my kitchen and they sprayed all around it and got the spray all over the window. My front door was sprayed along the sides and top with spray that got lots of spray on my glass screen door. Just how many pests are going to crawl up the wall into my garden kitchen window? Obviously none. The spray dried and it took me a long time to remove the spray from my glass screen door and the garden kitchen window. This happened the next year and I called them to clean the glass. Today for the third time my glass screen door was sprayed from top to bottom. I caught the gal doing the spraying and she said it wasn't intentional but it certainly could have been or it was pure carelessness. I told her that it wasn't necessary to spray in my area and she said that she would make sure that it was in their notes not to spray my area. Not but a few minutes later she came back into my area and was spraying above the entrance to my carport. When she saw me she ran off. We were referred to Emerald Lawns by Done Rite Tree after they suggested we use Emerald Lawns services to diagnose and treat our front yard Box Elder. After Emerald Lawns assessed our tree, they diagnosed a treatment plan. Hundreds of dollars and months later, when noticing the tree was doing worse and the bark was literally falling off the trunk, we called an arborist to assess and diagnose what was happening. Basically, we wanted a third opinion. This certified arborist diagnosed the tree as dead. He said it was obvious, anyone with any tree experience should've recognized the signs, as he pointed out numerous attributes Emerald Lawns overlooked or ignored in order to scam us out of a bunch of money. I called Emerald Lawns and said I found it pretty unethical to charge for treatments and services to an obvious dead tree, and told them not to continue any treatment services and to not set foot on our property again. This was about a year ago. Well, today I came home to an invoice tucked in my door and my front yard tree having had been serviced by Emerald Lawns! WIthout request or authorization from us, they trespassed on our property to try and scam us out of another treatment of our dead tree (which we plan to remove this spring). Do NOT use this company, they are obviously not knowledgable at all, overcharge for inappropriate services, and are blatantly unethical in their business practices. read more

I have been using Emerald Lawns Inc. for mite and pre-emergent/fertilizer lawn treatments for three years. The mite treatments were effective, but last year, I left Jeff a message to let him know that his truck left four oil spots on my driveway. I explained that I cleaned them up but he should be aware of this if he happens to park in someone else's driveway. I have not heard from him since. When I requested a treatment this year, Josh came and sprayed with what I suspect was a different miticide, which had no effect. I left Dave three messages to discuss for which there was no response. The second pre-emergent/fertilizer treatment was ineffective and they came back out and spread what they called soil enhancement, which was basically chicken manure. I have been dealing with mushrooms ever since. When I complained about that, they responded by saying "mushrooms are a sign of a healthy lawn," I disagree, they are a pain. Last year the pre-emergent/fertilizer treatment was once again ineffective and I was told that it was because there was not enough rain and the irrigation had not been turned on, to soak it into the ground. They made no offer to respray. This year they wanted to come out and spray under the same conditions. I find Emerald Lawn Inc. is not orientated towards customer concerns and satisfaction and somewhat "thin-skinned." I would not recommend them. read more

This is hands down the best lawn care company in Boise. Dave, the owner, does a fantastic job by building his relationship with his clients i.e. "me". He also runs a Christmas tree lot off of Apple and Parkcenter near Albertsons that is amazing. I take my family there every year, and the kids love how the ferris wheel spins and the giant candy canes! Thanks Emerald Lawns for all that you do. Also thanks for helping out Bishop Kelly football and raising funds for the athletic dept there. You are a great contributor to the community. Thanks Dave.
