I would not recommend this company. They require a large upfront deposit, make you wait for weeks, and then do not show up. I gave up after they canceled three times and did not get my deposit back for three weeks. I made the mistake of calling them two months ago. They made an appointment to come out and look at the tree that needed trimming, but they showed up early, so I did not have the opportunity to speak with anyone. I received a bid that was higher than others, but I wanted a quality job so I went with them. Don't be fooled by the professional website. They try to upsell you on other services. Okay, I paid the deposit and then waited... a week later they contacted me and told me when they would come out for the service. I made arrangements with the tenants, then they rescheduled due to heat and smoke. Understandable. We set another date; I notified the tenants, and they canceled again. Then somebody called me and said that they could do it on Sunday. On Monday, they said they couldn't do the job, but would stop by with a pole trimmer. At that point, I asked about the refund policy. Without further conversation, I got a text saying my refund had been processed. Two weeks later, I called to ask about the refund. More runaround, then I got an email stating it was being processed by their corporate office in New York. I did receive it after about three weeks. In the meantime, I called an actual local company, Priceless Tree Care. They showed up on time, were very knowledgeable, charged no upfront deposit, and did a great job. Not very impressed. Scheduled an appointment to have an arborist to come look at a tree. I was told when I scheduled that on the day of the appointment I would receive a call to make sure I was home and if not if it was ok to look at tree or I could send a photos if I was unavailable. The day came and no call until later when I received a call saying he had came and looked at the tree in my backyard. No call, no knock on the door. Just let himself in my fenced backyard without knowing if I was home or not. Was not impressed with that. I was unable to ask questions or anything because I thought I was meeting with someone that day. Then received an email with a quote. Very impersonal. read more

I needed some serious remediation for landscaping that was outdated, high maintenance, and had grown out of control over the summer. I decided I wanted to tear it all out and start over next year with low-maintenance native grasses. I had solicited a few bids and was shocked by the cost of some and disappointed by the non-responsiveness of others. Driving home one evening I saw a clean-cut crew removing a large tree from a front yard in our neighborhood. I stopped and was immediately greeted by Shawn McInerney of Boise Tree Company, who gave me his card and said he would stop by to survey my yard and email me a bid. The next morning (!) I received an itemized bid from Sean that came in at half the price of another landscapers bid and included the removal of 4 large black locust trees and pruning of two others that alone would have far exceeded the cost of Sean's entire bid if performed by other tree companies. Sean and his crew of clean-cut, hardworking young men showed up exactly on time and had completed the large project by the time I returned home from work. Sean even followed up with an email letting me know the job was done and requesting permission to do some other work he had missed in his original bid *at no additional cost*. Boise tree to remove a very large tree from my home after a microburst blew it down. Boise tree got in and removed it as soon as possible but there was some confusion in the work upon which we'd agreed. Unlike other business owners, Sean took the ethical path and worked out a very agreeable arrangement wherein he waived the cost of his own time. I'd hire Boise Tree again in a heartbeat.
