There are many better places to shoot your firearms. Their range officers are arrogant jerks on a power trip and constantly harass you the entire time you are shooting. I was on the rifle range and after a few minutes of shooting I started picking up the brass that I shot to get it out from under my feet and off the table when the range officer came over and started yelling at me and accused me of trying to steal brass. I don't reload and have no reason to try and to take the brass, I was only moving it out of my way. Besides, I purchased the ammo, if I want to take the brass that I shoot, I can, it's not stealing when it belongs to me. It seemed like the range officer was a re loader and wanted my good brass for himself. The range officer then accused me of shooting FMJ ammo, which I was not, and he made me unload my entire magazine to prove it. No apologies from him after he had wrongfully accused me twice instead he stood over my shoulder the entire time I was there like he was trying to "catch" me doing something wrong. What a hateful and unhappy person. It's like Alpine Range doesn't want people on their ranges and they are looking for reasons to drive customers away. Their employees have such a bad attitude and it appears if that you are not one of the local good old boys, they don't want you there. Also, the prices on their firearms and ammo are ridiculously high. I will not be going back to Alpine Range. Stay away! read more

Great range overall but what makes it terrible is the hired help. Went and bought a box of clays from academy and brought them here to shoot, since alpine charges 3x what academy does, only to have some butt hurt geriatric come and chew me out and tell me I can't shoot them here because they don't use orange clays at alpine even though both areas are littered with both yellow and orange clays. I told him I understand and even though it was obviously bullshit and went in and paid the price of almost $30 to shoot clays and the old son of a bitch continues to talk shit to me and make my range time a nightmare by constantly checking what size and kind of shells I'm shooting and sitting 3 feet behind my thrower the rest of the time I was there. More recently though I went to go shoot clays and decided to go over to the smaller area closer to the 100 yard range to try it out and as I thought it was less crowded. At that time It was me and one other twosome and they were almost done when I rolled up. I got my shotgun out and had everything ready and asked if one of the workers could pull for me and I got a very rude and smart ass response from him saying "I'm a range boss I don't do that" as if he is too good to help customers out and as if he had anything else to do other than sit his ass in his golf cart on his phone which also amounts to him not watching the range either so why would pulling for me make any difference? read more

First impressions are not that great I have heard and now read, However when taking safety in mind I think some people might confuse being disrespectful or Obnoxious with someone trying to keep everyone safe for them selves and others. I'm not picking at any post here because I know the feeling they are talking about but I'm pretty sure 95% of the time the employees actions are for Gun safety. Now Could certain employees have a better way of presenting the rules? Yes, But I can see where some will not like it and feel embarrassed, But then again that's better than someone ending up hurt. To some this is fun time but it is can also be a very dangerous place if you do not abide by the rules,You can not blame any employee for their actions when you are expected to read the rules and have someone with some gun safety knowledge with you or helping you. All of the times I have gone I have seen the shop very busy and not much time to answer questions but they are very helpful and have always been very nice to me and I have asked I'm sure some pretty stupid questions, They have bore sighted my guns always wanting to help me. I think Alpine is a nice shooting range, And once you do get to know the people and get more comfortable with the rules you will really enjoy it! read more

Ask any REAL fisherman and he will tell you, you don't give away your good spots. Sorry but I love this place and I am spilling the goods... This place is not for fisherman, it's for great Gentlemen that take care of their community. This place keeps all of Fort Worth secure and safe , and wouldn't you believe it? It's right next to a land fill you probably didn't know existed. There are mounds and hills all around, they almost look like they're strip mining for Gold or minerals, hard cold steel. Perhaps this is the "diamond in the rough"? This place is in Fort Worth and it could not be in a better location. I live .9 miles from a range in ftw and would rather drive 9 miles for a better Over All experience at Alpine I am so glad I was invited by one of my brother-in-arms. As someone who knows the mission of the Marine Corps rifle squad by heart, please rest assured I felt like this place could be a future temple for me where I can find my own personal silence, and peace. Please go visit Alpine Shooting Range. This place is great! They have an assortment of firearms and ammo for you to purchase and their range is great! They have range officers who are there to ensure your always safe and sometimes they can even help you when you find yourself needing a little expert help. I like everything about the place for the most part. My only gripe is they don't let you use Full Metal Jacket Ammo, which really sucks because it's very affordable for most novice shooters. The other thing that's a little disappointing is there is no longer a gunsmith on hand at the range. I think this would be great for people who encounter sudden problems and just need to get their firearm fixed. All in all, this is a great place with a 100yd outdoor range. It can get a little crowded but that's because everyone likes the place. Go ahead and stop buy - oh and I forgot to mention that they have lay-way for their firearms. my last experience with Alpine will be my last. it was some weeks ago but i returned to function check and zero a newly purchased rifle. the rso, rude, sarcastic and acting the real prick, seemingly having a really bad day, decided that since my rifle didn't have a "bolt hold open" device, discovered after he comically spent some time trying to manipulate the action to his satisfaction, dropped the rifle on the bench and exclaimed that the rifle was unsafe and if he couldn't see the chamber then i couldn't shoot anymore. i calmly explained to him that the rifle was and is not manufactured with a bolt hold open device, as are many. i also showed him the empty chamber. he asked me to leave. never going back. there are many other places to shoot in DFW that don't act like assholes, drop rifles and make wild and ignorant pronouncements and tell you to leave after you've paid their entrance fee, and they even know how to safely check your firearms. i reversed the charge on my cc and have never looked back. read more

I have been shooting at Alpine since 1973. My experiences have always been very good. This is a SAFE place to shoot, has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, good prices for new / used guns or can order anything you want, good prices for ammo, excellent Skeet, Trap, 5 Stand, Sporting Clays, Pistol Range, Rifle Range, Archery Shooting , Concealed Handgun Courses, Gun Store and Taxidermy Shop. The men at my church had a Sporting Clays Shoot there last year and Robbie and the guys treated us first class, we had a great time. Only thing I would change, I'd move it to Keller where I live. :) I'm retiring later this year and plan to spend much more time at Alpine shooting Skeet and Sporting Clays...needless to say , I highly recommend Alpine Gun Range. Today my husband and I had our first shooting practice at Alpine Shooting range. Two of the range officers, John and Robert , as they were walking past us, saw we were making mistakes and they took it upon themselves to give us some wonderful suggestions. It was a great experience because of John and Robert\'s help. They gave us some very valuable information on the safety and the use of our weapon. They spent time with us they did not have to do, yet it helped us tremendously. We will continue to go back to Alpine and practice regularly what they taught us today. I can speak for pistol range and store area of the range. I found almost all employees very rude and not helpful. Very over priced for what you get most of the time on the pistol range you are standing behind the caution line waiting for others to put up and take down targets. Your limited on how fast you can shoot. The limitation on types of ammo is ridiculous too. You basically can't shoot any practice ammo on the rifle range. These issues when your paying a premium price at 13 per person. At this price you can try one of many DFW indoor ranges and not have these silly issues. I can't see how they are able to keep their doors open. I hope others have better experience in other areas of the range. read more

Always a good time when I come to a shoot here. I have made several firearm transactions here and two of them I dealt directly with the owner who was always very helpful and took a good bit of time to help me make an informed decision. I tend to take a decent amount of time before I can decide, so him being patient goes a long way in my book. Other times employees have been very knowledgeable and on one occasion were able to find a gun I had not been able to get a hold of in two years of looking. been going to Alpine since 1975 have seen a lot of unwanted problems , when the ownership changed it all went away with more range officials for extra safety and upgrades to the ranges at all distances and very good new pistol ranges. some of the counter help act like they are doing you a favor and don't treat you with respect. some customers don't know a lot but some know a great deal about ballistics calibers and firearms. in 1986 I was class A champion at Arlington sportsman club and have been reloading since 1972. miss Jeff he is the only one that new me . Oh man this places sucks soooooooooo bad, these people are 1st class a-holes to woman.... My husband and I went here and they couldn't of been more rude to me and another lady we saw there. Great place. I was out at Alpine 3days in a row. Thursday I was out there setting up for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Clay shoot. Friday I was at the BBBS clay shoot. Sat am I took a kid out to Alpine to teach Him how to shoot a shotgun for an upcoming dove hunt. Staff is ALWAYS nice, friendly and very helpful. They have good virus protocols in place. The only suggestion I would offer is it would be nice if they could open before 9 on the weekends. Long time fan of Alpine!!! read more

Brief bona fides. I graduated the U.S. Army Small Arms Repair School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in 1974. Pardon the phrase, but this ain't my first rodeo. I went to Alpine a time or two years ago, and the last time was a negative experience. No need to re-hash that. Today (02/19/26) I shot my latest AR build on the rifle line to zero it. Always have a great experience at Alpine Shooting range. I got an awesome deal on a customized Armalite 223 Wylde. All the sales staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I stopped by originally before going to the gun show in Ft. Worth and was admiring the rifle but I figured I would see what rifles were at the gun show before purchasing one. Alpine Range is the only outdoor range I go to anymore. The staff are friendly, the range is clean, and the Range Officers are very helpful. If I need any supplies or ammo, I can get what I need right there on location. The thing I enjoy the most is the varying distances I can shoot. I don't have to be restricted to the 100 yard range when zeroing in my rifles. I can use the 25 or 50 to expedite my zero and then move to the 100 for some more fun. Excellent location. read more

This range is 100% worth it and the real deal. I would recommend this range for experienced shooters, not first timers. I also would recommend visiting during the week if possible over the weekend.
