I had one of the worst customer experiences with Alpine pools. I expected them to be pool experts since it's what they do. When they open my pool, I would expect them to test the water and treat accordingly. They just dumped the chemicals in and now my liner has purple stains all over it. When I called them about it, they first said that's how it was when they open it. I was out there when they first open it, lie #1. I asked what causes it, "I don't know, I am more the nuts and bolts type." I said I will Google it and find out. Five second search, its caused by the pool heater copper and pool shock chemical reaction, any pool guy would know it, lie number 2. Asked how do you remediate it...add some Metal Magic. I did that, it didn't have any noticeable impact to it. They told me it was my water, my problem and the service manger hung up on me. I will never use the Allison Park location ever again. My husband and I initially were looking for some pool quotes and worked with Tom. After we decided to go with another company, he was forwarded multiple emails by accident by Tom. These emails showed chains of forwarded emails discrediting 'Black Lives Matter', extreme political views and sexist and inappropriate materials. Again, I'm sure my husband (who is black) was forwarded these emails by accident (3 times), it clearly demonstrates the values that are held with this company. I'm not going to argue politics with anyone, however it is EXTREMELY unprofessional for a business to send these emails around to each other and accidentally include potential customers that the content is blatantly discriminating against. Take your business elsewhere! read more

I recently purchased a hot tub cover from Alpine. The cost was $700. When I received the cover, the straps were not in the correct location. On the order form you selected the general location. I assumed since this was where I purchased my hot tub and they knew the model that the straps would be correct. They are off. Tyler said just drill new holes. I said this was unacceptable. I could have ordered a cover online and paid $400. I went where I bought the cover to the "experts" to get a better quality cover than online. Big mistake. We went back and forth, and bottom line was "Too bad." I paid the balance, but to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Needless to say, I will be taking my business to Valley Pool and would suggest others do the same. Zero customer satisfaction. read more

Poor service and absolutely do not return calls ( unless they think it's for sales) opened our pool and broke a cap and thought sticking metal bolt in it would hide it so now have water leaking all over pool house. If could do it all again, we would not use Alpine pools. We are happy that we put a pool in, but we wish we had patronized a different company. The sales rep was attentive for the first visit, of course, but once you sign on the dotted line it's an unfortunate experience. Truthfully, we have received more personalized attention from a car dealership. At least there, the manager or owner might greet you or shake your hand or thank you for your business. The owners of this franchise are very hands off and only into profit and upcharging. If you go to the store to buy supplies or test your pool water, they don't even know who you are or what type of pool you bought. Usually a young kid working with minimal experience. We had a defect in the pool floor. I have a picture of it. Looks like a large irregular pothole under the liner. We asked about fixing it and the owner, indirectly through the sales rep, offered a less than 2% discount. I could go on but I won't. In short, this is an indifferent franchise. For us, this was a huge and exciting investment. They soured our experience and I just wish we had used someone else. When we told them we were surprised they didn't care what we think and asked if they don't care about referrals, the sales rep simply stated "I sell plenty of pools". read more

Allison Park location: Prices are too high all the way around, but the kids working there are great. HOWEVER, don't EVER hire them to come fix anything at all on your pool. Their service manager, Bob, is a complete and total scam artist. This guy sent someone(s) out to fix the pool heater that I bought from them b/c it randomly stopped working after less than 1 season. I paid about $270 to have them "fix" it. Two days after they claimed to have fixed it I turned it on and it didn't work. I called back down to Bob and he sent another guy out a day or two later. When this guy was done he handed me a bill for nearly $90. I called down to tell Bob that I wasn't going to pay the $90 bill. He said that is was a legit charge b/c it was an "extension of the first job", to which I asked him [for argument sake] that if it weren't fixed properly 8 more times in a row by his crew, that he would then charge me $90 for each one of those visits...reaching $1,000 for his "extensions" b/c his guys didn't fix it properly the first time. He said, "Yes, that's right. I would keep charging you until it's working." Are you kidding me?!!!!!!! His crew is too incompetent to fix it properly the first time, so he keeps charging me for the screw-ups of HIS employees?! Don't waste your time with these people. They're not 5 minutes down the street from me, but I now take my pool and hot tub needs more than 30 minutes away just so I don't have to deal with that jerk...and I'm saving much more money. read more

After spending several thousand dollars On a spa the Alpine "team" will forget Your name. I have called for service Three times in one day and have yet To speak to a service member. They Don't return calls I tried calling the Cranberry store and got the same Run around. When it comes time to Upgrade I will most definitely find A more customer friendly dealer. read more

This review is for the pool water analysis service only. We've had some snotty people wait on us, and some inadequate ones. Do not get you pool water tested here, as you will receive inconsistent and incorrect results which will lead you to purchase the wrong or unnecessary chemicals. You will receive different results when pool water is tested the same day, from the same sample. They have a lot of excuses for this...manager blames poorly trained techs, (isn't he the one training them?) techs using the wrong disc, computer glitch which never seems to be addressed, and the always popular IT problems. Go elsewhere for water testing and chemicals. Cannot recommend for this service. read more

First, it is not believable that 2 people rated this company positively. Those posts are surely posted by someone in the company itself. This is the worst place I've dealt with in many years. I really don't have the time to figure out how to make this comment but I'm so upset with them that I am taking the time to do this. I need something for my in ground pool and tracked down the manufacturer and they could not sell direct to me but gave me Alpine phone number as the retailer they work with that was closest to me. They gave me detailed information on what to ask for when I call Alpine. They could not give an actual price but told me what wholesale (before shipping) would be, but said its up to the store as to what price they quote. So I called Alpine and explained what I needed and what exactly to ask for when they called the wholesaler. They said they would call me back later that day or the next day. But I never heard back. I waited 2 weeks and then called back myself. I called and spoke to several different people but they left messages for the person I first spoke to who what the ordering agent for the business. She never called. Finally after over a month, one of my calls caught her there and she said she had my information (so why didn't she ever try calling me?). The price she gave me was a range rather than an actual price and when she started explaining why she couldn't quote a price, I realized she wasn't talking about the same thing I was calling about. I reminded her about my original conversation with her and asked if she still had it written down, the exact name of the coping I needed. She said she will have to call the wholesaler again and get the info and call me back. I said I cannot wait another month, how long will it take to hear back. She said she will call tomorrow. And that was over a week ago. Never heard back and I know I won't. So I called the wholesaler (manufacturer) myself again and explained that I cannot get Alpine to work with me and asked if they called back recently. They told me that no one EVER called them about any of this except me. So she outright lied to me with the made up price range. The manufacturer then gave me another company they deal with in the Pittsburgh area, and I called them yesterday and gave them the same information I gave Alpine originally. To my delight, the guy called me back literally 2 hours later with the price and all details on the options (section lengths available). I placed the order and I was done 2 hours after my first call with them. I really want to say the name of this company, but if I did, I know someone reading this would think this is a fake comment just to plug Alpine's competition, and I don't want to take a chance of someone thinking this isn't real. Also, if a company doesn't want to bother with something, why wouldn't they just be honest about it? Oh and this wasn't some $20 item that wasn't worth someone's time. The total charge was over $1800. I think that's worth at least a call back. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ALPINE. That's a slogan I hope stays with anyone reading this. They are incompetent and inconsiderate. read more

Our pool pump broke. We searched online and priced pool pumps. We went into Alpine, their pumps were a lot more. So we asked if they would price match and the guy said "My inventory is flying off my shelves I don't need to price match." His price was $600 and online price was half that. We bought it online and asked them to install. They were to call us the day before they got to us as they were so far booked for service calls. They showed up a week later never called and dug the old wires for the old pump out of the trash to install the new one. Then left us a bill for $131 service call. My husband called the service department and the guy was once again rude. Every single time we have spoken to him he's a condensing jerk. I would never give this company my business again. I bought my pump from inyopool.com and received amazing support to install ourselves. We saved so much money from service calls and being proudly overcharged by a neighborhood store. The salesman sold us a pool perfect for our yard. Then the said it wouldn't work we had to get more expensive pool. So we order it installer comes says no we can't do it there. We were supposed to get pool in April by July we still had no pool. We asked for a refund and they didn't want to give us one. Had to contact a lawyer to get our money back. Salesman will tell you anything to get your money but not deliver and they were so rude. We just wanted a pool by our deck and they just wanted money, poor customer service and management was not any better to try to sort out. I would never go in that place again. read more

We did our homework and visited a few other stores in the area but we came back to Alpine because of the great price and all of the inclusions! We worked with him when our pool was originally installed, 13 years ago. He brings tremendous experience and professionalism to the job. Horrible service. I called and left a message inquiring about an inground pool installation and wanting to get a bid. This was on June 11, 2015. I received a voicemail the next day (6/12) from Mike. I returned his call on 6/13 and left a voicemail stating that we had already scheduled a visit from another company, but still wanted several additional bids - one from Alpine. Today is 7/8/15, still NO WORD from Mike and we decided to go with a company who actually came to our home and was willing to spend the time to get our business. Honestly, they obviously don't want our $40,000 - $50,000 and what kind of response would you then get when/if you ran into issues with their pool...?
