Terrible overall experience. We purchased an above ground from Alpine in Allison Park about ten years ago at a previous home and had a great experience. Dealing with the Jeannette store, however, has been a nightmare all the way around this time.
We ordered a hot tub in August, were pressured to put a down payment to ensure October delivery, gets delayed until February, only to end up cancelling the order because they had no idea when the hot tub would come in, if at all. Yet, we went to Valley Pool and had a hot tub delivered from them within a few weeks.
We also ordered an above ground pool for our new house in August and were told we would be set for late April/early May install. Needless to say we were shocked when the installer called us in early March to install. We did not exactly have the yard ready for install and again were pressured to accept install sooner or they couldn't guarantee when it would be installed. We agreed to a late March install. Alpine delivered the pool and wanted to leave it in our driveway! I said NO. You can deliver it to the yard, as noted in the contract. Good thing i insisted because the install was delayed about 3 1/2 weeks due to weather. So, the pool boxes would've sat in my driveway that whole time? Finally, we get to day of install. My husband readied our deck and remove the railing to allow for pool entry. We agreed to pay the installer more to dig out part of the hillside to ensure the pool sat flush with the deck. The installer talked us out of the hill dig and ensured us he could make it work. We said ok. Imagine my SHOCK, when i come out to see the finished product and see the pool sits flush with the closed part of the deck (not the open spot for entry)! The installer made the decision NOT to dig the hillside and just do it his way without asking us. And he charged me extra!!! The contract clearly states 6 inches of excavation were included in what i paid Alpine. There is no way he excavated even the 6 inches! Yet i was charged extra AND there is a huge gap from the pool to deck opening. When my husband called to ask what happened, the installer laughed at Him and said "at least you have less dirt to move". It was clear this installer wanted to do the fast/easy way so he could hurry onto the next job. After I called to complain, Alpine did refund me the extra money he charged, at least. But the installer's lack of professionalism was unacceptable.
Alpine provided no maintenance schedule or any type of instructions and failed to respond to my emails requesting assistance, which was reflective of the poor customer service we experienced throughout. Luckily, Valley has stepped in and assisted us with a chemical maintenance schedule for pool, even though it was purchased through Alpine. read more
