Their website made it easy to see they had exactly what I needed (and a lot more for party rentals too). I called, reserved 24 chairs, and scheduled a pickup; super straightforward process. On pickup day, the guy who helped us was friendly and even assisted with loading everything into our truck, which I really appreciated. The chairs themselves were clean, comfortable, and looked great for the event. Pricing per chair was very reasonable, and I'd definitely rent from them again. The only downside was the delivery fee. It would've been $60 each way for a location just 2.5 miles away from the shop which felt a bit steep, especially for a small order. No biggie, we cleaned it out and it was fine. Returned it cleaner than we received it and did not get our deposit back because we were told it was "dirty". We rented the Vermeer 7" chipper for the weekend. Excellent customer service, super friendly and knowledgeable staff and the equipment was in excellent condition. This was the first time that we'd rented a chipper, so the staff provided a quick operational course. They have the best price in town (even comparing with the big-box-stores) yet have that small-town-friendly smile and if we weren't in the middle of a pandemic, am sure that there would also be a friendly handshake as well. If you rent from anyone else other than Alpine Equipment Rentals, you probably paid more, had to park in a very large parking lot and were probably treated as just-another-customer. Do not rent from them! We did & it was a disaster. They sent out faulty equipment (tires) and said they weren't sure they had the rims for what they sent. Then we were told they should have sent a tractor with a track based on our property. They sent out a machine which did not have the rails in place so my husband had to try to get the rails in place. He was basically told to use a crowbar to fix it since that's what they use.He used it for maybe 15 hrs max & we got charged premium dollars. They got the equipment, didn't say anything (on Friday night)& suddenly without any warning l am charged $1000 & $1800 without any notification. Tried calling to get statements or contracts to no avail. The sent me a bill for $1400 & I didn't pay it they simply charged my credit card on file without permission !! read more

I needed a tractor and a box loader to grade almost a mile of my dirt road. Being in Boulevard, every place I called (about 5 or 6 places) was going to charge me $400 to $500 for delivery and pickup. I have an F-350, so I asked these places if I could pick it up myself and not one of them had a trailer that they could put the tractor on, except for alpine equipment rental. They only charged me $285 for a full day (8 hours on the machine), including the trailer, and even gave me a tip about picking it up on Friday afternoon so I could have the whole weekend with it before they opened again on Monday. I happened to be heading to Boulevard from El cajon the day before my rental and so I asked if I could just swing by to pick it up since it would be a hassle to drive home and then drive all the way back to alpine the next day, do the job and then drive it back to alpine again and then drive home again. Kelly hooked me up and let me pick it up on the way home and then let me have it all day Friday AND the weekend for 1 day price, just so I wouldn't have to drive back and forth 600 times. I highly recommend these guys for being really flexible with me and will be using them from now on. read more

This place sucks ! Safety is not a concern for them! They rented me a trailer with no tail lights. Couldn't tow what I wanted to because it was night time. Took the trailer back and complained, asked for a refund and was denied! The owner , yes I said owner, told me to ' F' off! Will never go there Again. They take advantage of being the only rental in a small town. Drive a little town the hill to town and rent from someone else. Btw , they also have another rental in lemon grove. I boycott both! I rented a towable lift they gave me excellent instructions on how to use it had no problems. They had it ready when I needed it. It was an emergency, a tree had fallen on a telephone pole. Timing needed to be prefect as sdg&e had to cut the power off and I only had a few hours to cut the tree down. I was very disappointed with the customer service. My family has rented from them in the past and they normally gave discount but this time they refused to give any discount. When the delivered the bobcat they forgot the added attachment that we paid for and had to bring it later. In addition, they didn't pick up the bobcat as scheduled and then because we started doing additional work we asked if they could pick it up at the end of the day but they refused and said they would be charging us for another day. Recently I rented a pump from this company. Even though I told them when I pulled in that I could not get around very well, they made me park out on the street. I'm still sore from that walk. When I got home to start the pump I discovered that the threads on the discharge hose were messed up. I could barely get it tight enough to stay on. They had to have known this because they were the ones that put the hose on the pump before I left. Very disappointed that they would do business in this manner. When I came back to return the pump the three employees that were standing there ignored me. I had to motion to them to come over and remove the pump. One individual finally responded. Customer service like this would not be tolerated by the company I work for. Last but not least, in my opinion, the ramp to their office trailer is very unsafe, especially for someone that is disabled like myself. Has anyone heard of Ted Shin?
