I make the drive from Oakland to this location because of their professionalism and quality. I've been coming here for years and have never experienced a delay or issue. My experience here is dry cleaning jeans and shirts. The pricing is similar to other locations I've been to , but the attention to detail makes it well worth it. read more

I can't believe I've lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and this is the first time I've gotten dry cleaning done lol. My experience here was great. I had my fav work slacks that needed a new zipper and a dry clean stat. Nothing negative to say. Older Asian gentleman was friendly and helpful, informed me he could have in done in less than a week. I had inquired about dry cleaning a little closer on Park Blvd and they wanted $32 for just the zipper. I walked out of Alpine cleaners with a new zipper and dry cleaned for $22. Not bad at all. I will be back for my other dry cleaning needs. read more

I recently bought a $$$$ leather wool coat that needed alterations, but not sure where I could take it to for reliable and good service. So glad I came here because they did a great job on my coat! My dad has been getting all of his alterations here for years now, so I decided to give them a try. I'm so glad that I have a place I can trust with my expensive items that need alterations. My leather wool jacket was pretty complicating bc it's double lined inside and has double stitching. This isn't a coat I would take to just anyone. Now the jacket fits me like a glove and doesn't look baggy on. The exterior looks FLAWLESS and he fixed the back belt that had buttons. SO HAPPY!!!! :) read more

Alpine Cleaners - They did a great job on my $$$$ wool leather jacket & took in the sides. - Dry Cleaning Near Me - Oakland, California

ive been a steady customer for over 15yrs lately ive noticed a steep raise in my pricing mostly in alterations column ; moreover i service this facility 2-3 a month my monthly bill is easy a access of 3-400 per month- ive spoken to the owner on several occasions as well as his wife ; shouldn't i be credited with at the minimum of 10-15% off on my bill when it reaches 100-200 per servicing read more

I had tried so many cleaners in the area before finally coming to Alpine. I have given them multiple stained garments (because I drop a lot of food on myself, mostly in airplanes) that come back spotless. The man behind the counter is priceless; he always greets me with a huge smile and checks for any little thing that I have not pointed out. All the work is done on prem, both cleaning and alterations, and compared to the prices of other cleaners these guys are competitive. I will never go anywhere else. read more

I regularly bring all my trousers here to be dry cleaned. I often have little stains on my pants and this last time I didn't need to go over each item with the guy there. That was quite a relief. The cleaning was excellent. I'd give him 5 stars if I could get my clothes back earlier. 4 1/2 stars. read more

I've been bringing select garments and linens here for cleaning for the year and a half I've lived in this neighborhood. My items were always ready for pick up as scheduled and my clothes were always returned to me in the condition I expected: pressed, on hangers, and emitting that familiar chemical smell that meant they were "clean". I was always greeted and helped shortly after walking in, usually mornings. All this (and mostly the handy location) I appreciated and I might've remained a customer for years had I not torn the lining of a gorgeous, borrowed wool coat (in 3 places - oops) and looked to Alpine Cleaners for help. BE cautious when requesting additional services here - even in the line of very simple "alterations" (seam repair). I left this coat in Alpine's care with instructions to make three repairs in a generous 1 week time frame. The woman who took my order marked each area with tape and noted what I would pay per fix. Not cheap. When I returned to pick up the coat I saw that the tape markers were gone, the repairs were not made but my bill contained all of the charges. I pointed this out and soon three staff were involved but in a very confused way. One woman dashed off with my coat and I was told by another I could wait. "5 minutes". She returned and the seam split was hastily stitched with pinkish thread (the lining is blue). Bad bad bad. I opened up the coat and saw that the 3 inch tear was still there. What the &%$?! I asked if I could leave the coat with them for an hour or so and return, all the while stressing that they'd had a week to make these repairs and I now needed to return the coat to its owner. I invested too much of my time and effort trying to right their multiple mistakes. Reduced charges or even some slim acknowledgement of their goofs might've retained my patronage. Or likely not, but they might have thwarted one very bad first review. read more

I love this place and is the only place I'll go for my dry cleaning. They are accommodating, have a great quality of service and are the nicest people you'll meet. I don't understand the poor reviews. The prices are what they are. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. But I find the prices very reasonable. read more

I used to bring my dry cleaning here and get my pants hemmed (went a few times). I brought one pair of pants to be hemmed, and they used this weird plasticy thread on my black pants. Why not regular black thread? I washed them one time, and one pant leg started to come undone at the hem. I washed them again, and it was completely down. Rather than go back and complain, I just brought them to the Grand Alteration Shop, and they did it right. Maybe they're ok for dry cleaning, but I wouldn't bring any alterations here. If they can't do a simple hem, they certainly can't do anything else. read more

I came in with very dirty sofa cushion covers, so glad I got the sofa for that feature. She looked at them, noted that were were also faded by the sun, but despite cringing a little bit, said she would do her best. And when I picked them up, they were so clean and nice, with just a little bit of fading. She said she had to dry clean them 3 times!! Exceptional service They know what they're doing. read more

I believe this cleaners has been there about 20years since I have moved into the city. The owner never changed and working hard for customers. I always drop off my dry cleans and for most of time, they came out clean. But if not, he would always want to redo it if I am not satisfied. Really honest and kind owner! I love the service! read more

I haven't used them for alterations, but always bring my dry cleaning here. They have always been friendly and helpful. While they always ask if you can pick it up in a week, they'll have it done by the next day if you just ask. read more

I took a futon cover to them, they are just across the street from my house. I paid about 35 dollars for 3 stains. I don't normally have dry cleaning, but if I did, and because they are just up the street, I would come here, other than that... read more

This review is long overdue. I've been using Alpine Cleaners for my dry cleaning needs for over two years. When I first moved to the Glenview neighborhood, I was hesitant about taking my clothes here due to the mixed Yelp reviews, but kurt d.'s review encouraged me to at least give them a shot. I'm so glad I did! I've received nothing but great service from Alpine Cleaners. They are reliable, friendly, on-time, and fairly priced. I've had multiple instances when I've brought in items with tough stains, and they've been able to remove the stains, handling my clothing with the utmost care. I recently moved to Emeryville and tried a few dry cleaners who are located closer to where I now live, and I've decided it's worth the 10-15 min drive to take my clothes to Alpine Cleaners. read more

I've had good experiences at this shop, for both cleaning and alterations (unlike some of the other reviewers). Courteous, timely.

I took my dry cleaning and laundry here for a few years since it's easier to park here than up the street at Hillside Cleaners. The gentleman that runs the shop can be obsequious at times, but maybe it's a cultural trait. I finally decided to go elsewhere when I got home and discovered a dress shirt on a hanger had creases ironed into to it where there weren't supposed to be any. The shirt was unwearable without being redone. There just doesn't seem to be much care put into the work here, and little pride in what they return to the customer. read more

This place is just way more expensive than other drycleaners I have used. Seven dollars to dryclean my shirt or pair pants is ridiculous in my opinion. read more

I decided to try out Alpine Cleaners because of the convenient parking and location to my house. They entered my information into their computer, I dropped my clothes off and left. I guess I should have checked the ticket they gave me but I didn't. I went back the following week to pick up my stuff but since I couldn't immediately find my ticket I went in there without it. They told me they had no record of any clothes under my name. They looked at me like I was crazy when I tried to describe the items I had dropped off previously. I finally found the ticket in my car and figured out the problem. They put my clothes under someone elses name. At this point they refused to admit they did anything wrong. My point to them was that I had only been in there once. I had given them my information (which was in the computer) at the same time I gave them my clothes therefore this must have been their mistake. They did not see it that way. They finally located my clothes. On the ticket attached to my clothes someone had manually written in my last name. So clearly they realized their error after I left and did not bother to correct it in their computer. At that point I think they began to understand this was their fault, but there was no real apology. They somehow blamed this on me being a new customer. I will not be returning. It is a shame since they did a fine job cleaning my clothes. If they had just been a little bit nicer instead of making me feel like I was the crazy one I would have let it go. read more

I really like the idea of shopping locally and I always try to do business with various establishments in the neighborhood. I used ALpine Cleaners on several occasions and my experience with them went from bad to worse. First, I came by before 9am so that I can qualify for their early drop off discount. When they tallied up my items, they did not take into consideration the advertised discount even though it's plastered all over their windows. When I mentioned this to the owner, they begrudgingly made the adjustment. When I dropped off my dry cleaning the next time, same thing happenned - clearly, a pattern. When I brought my items home, I discovered that several of my shirts were missing buttons and one of the zippered jackets was missing a tassle. I understand that things will happen in the process of dry cleaning or pressing but when it does happen, it's only right to mention it to the customer. They are either careless with their customers' clothes or dishonest - neither is acceptable. read more

I live in the neighborhood and was taking my cleaning to other area cleaners that were much less convenient for me because of the poor reviews. Then I decided to at least try this place as it was so close by. I've always had excellent service and excellent cleaning. All the work is done on the premises so it doesn't get lost and its never been late. I am so happy that I started using them. Give them a try! read more

So I'm new to the neighborhood and thought, oh I'll try out this cleaner nearby since that would be convenient. All I can say is rude, rude, rude. On Friday, I dropped off 3 shirts and $1000 sport coat. On Wednesday, I pick it up and get 3 shirts and no sport coat. Now, perhaps the ticket he gave me said 3 and had some random name on it. But I did NOT forget where I dropped off my coat. The old man was so rude he wouldn't bother to go check and see if it was in the store. He told me go check your house and your car. And sure, I went to do that, on the off-chance I forgot where I dropped off my $1000 sport coat. Not there as expected. I return, hey, the ticket is clearly not correct, would you go look? No, no, maybe other car, maybe in your house, maybe other cleaner, you don't know. Seriously, check your security camera, Friday, you'll see me walk in with it. read more

Took two times to try and get the stain out and still didn't come out in its entirety. When asked for a discount because it took so long, said no. White jacket- $10.82 so not bad for the price I guess but just not great work. read more

Dropped off two pairs of pants here to be taken in at the waist. One pair came out fine, but the other was completly ruined! I'll admit that they needed to be taken in quite a bit, but all they did was take them in at the back seam pulling the back slit pockets practically next to eachother and creating a big pucker right at the center of the butt. I'm no seamstress but even I knew that they needed to be taken in at the sides instead to create a natural fit. The worst part for me is that these were $300 designer pants, and in the alterations they cut out the tags and "threw them out" defacing all value of the pants. I guess now I know how they get designer labels for knock off products. After much discussion and arguing the owner very reluctantly refunded the cost of my alterations, and I found a knowledgable seamstress who spoke english and understood what needed to be done to fix the pants. She was appauled that anyone would alter them as they did! I cant speak for the dry cleaning services...but for alterations look elsewhere...and as for customer service you want a company that stands behind the work they do...this is NOT the place! read more
