They adhered to every detail of the Hardee plank specifications and even installed all my new exterior lights. Ripped off all cedar siding, then encased entire house with plywood, then Hardee moisture wrap and taping, finally the Hardee siding and trim. Thorough cleanup. Very highly recommended. It is very important to go with a company that does it all. The others only did siding or doors and windows but not both, but it's very important that both get done simultaneously to have the perfect outcome. Selection: I got 3 roof quotes for some suspected moisture…read moreinvasion and roof issues discovered by another contractor. Both We Get High and V&K gave me around the same quote for a total roof replacement (around 8k, not including plywood prices) and Summit quoted me an eye watering 24k (including materials). I went with V&K for several reasons: - The two workers who arrived were knowledgeable about the roof, patiently looked at the areas I was most worried about, and called the office immediately to discuss their findings - I really enjoyed how attentive and quick the quote process was; Karol was great to work with - I was treated with respect as a female homeowner and nobody asked to speak to my husband (which is often times a problem) The results: From both a house inspection and other contractors, I knew that the roof I have was potentially not done by pros, and there were more problems than expected: - All the facia had to be replaced because of rotting and water ingress - The infrastructure underneath the plywood was shoddy/nonexistent and V&K added extensive plywood support underneath - They also did all the vents and flashing and the ... metal cover things underneath the eaves - The plywood costs were already going to cost around 4.5k but the additional facia costs were an unexpected addition. The total came to about 14k. I have a huge, flat-ish roof, and the price compared to other homeowners and people I spoke to, sounded about right. That said, Karol's team also replaced all my gutters with the facia and were incredibly considerate about all the other things I didn't even think to worry about, and I felt like they threw in a lot of things that were not explicitly charged (2x4 plywood for infrastructure etc) - You can hear each shingle nailed in with precisely 6 nails each - Karol supervised all the work carefully - They swept all the work area with magnets to make sure I wouldn't step on a rusty nail or pop a tire on them, I really appreciated the careful cleanup - Everyone was incredibly hard working and efficient, there were no long lulls or breaks for days so I didn't have to worry about the weather - The team documented all the roofwork in pictures so I can see what was done, when I get a chance I'll clean them of EXIF data and post it I'm very pleased with the job with the team and will be recommending them to all my neighbors. Also, as a security person I want to mention some older reviews where it looks like there were a few victims to impersonation scams--if you read my other reviews this has been happening to lots of legitimate businesses in the area, including two restaurants that I frequent. A few tips: - Always meet with contractors in person at least once - Have a signed contract and negotiate the work in detail - Check that the phone number you use for Zelle matches the yelp profile - Ask for proof of insurance--again, match the company you're working with, with the proof of insurance - Zelle payments will hold the funds for 3 business days, so pay the deposit immediately before workers arrive (and rescind payment if they delay--you can always pay them again later) - Be mindful of your monthly maximum for the Zelle payment (it's a rolling max so in the worst case scenario you wouldn't be able to finish paying for your whole roof replacement unless you use a second account, or a check) Is this fool proof? No, there will always be very smart conmen but I can attest that this is a legitimate business and they did legitimate (good quality) work for me.

I almost never write bad Yelp reviews and I have been sitting on writing this review for a while but I had to because I am still so upset with the quality of service. When giving me my estimate, they sent a real professional to actually survey the property, go up on the roof, take measurements, etc. I had a really good feeling about the company. However, the person who gave me the estimate quit the company and I was reassigned to someone else who never physically came by to see the property. On the day of the installation, the team that they sent had no familiarity with the specifics of the project (which was attic insulation, gutter installation and rain barrel installation). I had to explain everything to them all over again, like they'd never heard of it before. It didn't help that they didn't really speak English and I had to show them what a rain barrel was with hand gestures. The workers installed my backyard rain barrel backwards, and my front yard rain barrel upside down. They took bricks from another part of my yard to mount my rain barrel without asking. The worst part by far: One of the workers, without asking, cut down my Virginia creeper plant that I had been growing and training for three years. It covered the front of my house and attracted birds and butterflies in the spring. Now it's destroyed. There was literally no reason to do this, he didn't ask for permission or anything (he said "it's poison!" when I asked why he did it; it's not, it's a harmless native plant). My house used to be unique, now it looks like every other house on the block. This last offense was intolerable, I called the company and demanded they sent someone down. They ultimately discounted the project by $2600, which was fine but did not compensate me for my loss. This was the first time any supervisor actually came to the property. It was clear the supervisor didn't know the workers at all, and he couldn't communicate with them any better than I could. The management had no interest in coming by to check work after it was complete, either. I had to reach out to them to request that they do so. They were perfectly content to just let their workers do it and leave for the day. Ultimately, they did the job that was on the contract, hence the two stars: they insulated my attic, installed gutters, and installed rain barrels. But everything else was a terrible experience. I wish I could undo hiring them in the first place.

Super nice but takes no guff from insurance companies and in fact excels in giving guff right back to them. Very knowledgeable about roofing and insurance companies, very thorough, very efficient, very helpful, and very kind. Glenn shows up on my doorstep in early April 2025. He had stopped by about a year earlier when he was working for another roofing company and remembered me...well, possibly more the roof. We started the process of getting the insurance company to pay for the roof. Allstate dragged this on for FIVE Months, even though they could have had it solved in one. The process went from no damage to a 22-year-old roof, to the insurance company paying for it in full!! Tons of friends and family assured me that Allstate would NEVER pay for the roof, and I would wind up paying for it myself. My response was Glenn is a terrier and he assures me, we (almost totally meaning Glenn) will get insurance to pay for it. Occasionally, during the FIVE month process, I got discouraged but Glenn always said to hang on, insurance would pay for the roof. So don't let your insurance company tell you there is nothing wrong with your roof, or they will repair not replace it. Don't let them make you pay for a new roof when you have been paying insurance premiums for exactly that contingency. They will laugh all the way to the bank with your premiums and be out NOTHING for those premiums. Let Glenn fight all those battles; no damage, little damage, not enough damage for replacement, constantly changing adjustors, lying, verbiage that is confusing, requiring additional hoops to jump through to just tire you out so you give up and pay for it yourself. For example, having the shingles tested for repairability, is the shingle still manufactured, and actual repair test where a qualified persons tries to do an actual repair, (and then your roof looks like a patchwork quilt) which is an additional cost. To having to involve public adjustors to get the insurance company to do the job you are PAYING them for, not being complete in their assessments, like not inspecting major sections of your roof or not being specific in what repairs are needed and what that entails, like stating that they will paint, seal, and repair water damage inside your house without stating that the rest of the interior of your house will be protected or moved or covered, and then put back and protections removed. Not only did he fight with the insurance company for FIVE months for my new roof, I had a slump in my driveway next to the garage and my truck needed a no longer manufactured clock spring. He had a guy for the driveway; Anthony from A&L Sealcoating & Asphalt Maintenance; 540-249-1970. They dug up a 6ft wide section across the entire driveway, corrected the sub-base, installed new asphalt, sealed the existing driveway, and did a few extra things, completed the job in a few hours and will return this fall to seal the new sections he put in. For my truck, he had a guy for that too. Donny Thompson, Thompson Auto Repair; 540-317-0078 (he found a remanufactured part and my truck is whole for the first time in 5 years!). Glenn contacted both men to let them know the issues, sent pictures of the driveway and particulars about the truck to both of them and they quickly responded and scheduled the work. Totally satisfied with the work on both projects. Super pleased with both recommendations and would recommend them to others as well. Both men explained what the repairs were, did great work, let me ask questions, were fun to talk with, and had great after service care. So it was the trifecta of wins!
