I've debated writing this review because I try not to put negativity out there, but I do think it needs to be said so people might know what their potential moving experience would be like if they chose to use this company.
The plan was to start with our place (appliances included), then go to my mom's house, then unpack at the new place. We were very direct with our instructions, amount of stuff needing to be moved, and the way it needed to be done, however, the movers booked their schedules packed full with 2 other jobs back to back, and were unable to complete the job scheduled from 9:30-2pm.
We feel it started to go wrong initially when they did not stack things properly at our house. This caused the plan to be changed to now stop at the new house in the middle instead. This unfortunately ate up too much time and the movers ended up dumping everything in the garage at the new house, going to my moms house only to grab just under 70% of her stuff, and again dumping the rest of the stuff in the garage and leaving to their next job. Keep in mind our place is an upstairs 2/2 apartment, and my moms place is a 2/1 apartment. The truck was able to handle everything if it was packed correctly. Also, as a side note we live in Rocklin - they scheduled our job, then a job in El Dorado Hills at 2pm, and another job in Folsom at the end of the day, not accounting for drive time, lunch breaks, or water. Doesn't seem like a very well-thought out plan for an 108 degree day!
All things considered, they were leaving in an extreme rush as it was after 2pm and they had to get to their next job immediately. They added everything up, and after all was said and done with moving expenses, gas, truck, $100 tip, and $50 sandwiches we got them, the total cost to move was over $1,000. I feel they did half the job, got handsomely overpaid, then left us to figure out the rest.
Mind you, I'm 7 months pregnant, my mom is 50+ years old, and my husband is the only abled-body person able to handle moving heavy stuff, but obviously he couldn't possibly do everything on his own.
The kicker is I then called them and left a voicemail pleading for more help. Is anything able to be done about our situation? We have a PACKED FULL garage of extremely heavy stuff and there's no way we can do it on our own. We're going to have to hire another set of movers. Please please help us... well, nobody ever called me back. They did however text my mom briefly saying they'd come out and finish the job for a discounted $220 and complained about the extra help we had (some family and friends were there helping... all the more reason the job should've been done) and how some people were standing around. Another $220 would put us in the red financially and I do not feel that is a fair amount for them to simply finish their already over priced job.
All in all, if you're looking to be overcharged for a company to do half their job, this is the perfect company for you. read more
