My daughter and I both enjoyed our meals here. The "chickpea balls" are their version of a falafel, which my daughter loves. I usually don't get falafel because I find it to be dense and dry, but their chickpea balls were not dry at all. They were crispy on the outside yet almost "fluffy" on the inside. Yum! We both enjoyed the pita a lot as well. Service was quick and friendly, the place was clean and airy, and prices were reasonable. read more

So good! Not much real Mediterranean in Waco but THIS!! It's the spot for sure. Hummus and Gyros are delicious and the Baklava is so authentic read more

They've changed the lamb at some point & the new lamb now is not tasty, it's flavorless. I'm disappointed bc I really liked this place before. read more

Well, a very mixed review. Drove 45 min to this place. I'm not sure how it has the stars it has. Maybe because the customer service was great, maybe because the place was spotless... not sure. If I based it off those two things I would give it 5 stars. The food itself wasn't the best. I've had plenty of Gyros before and this one was probably at the bottom of the list. I will say the girl taking my order recommended me to stay away from the lamb which is exactly what I went to get... good thing she did because it's not sliced like normal lamb gyros. It was more torn apart like a pulled pork sandwich when she gave me a sample, all while being tasteless and dry. She said she got tired of giving refunds for the lamb so now just gives samples. Instead the pork was sliced like the lamb and still not the best as she suggested I take that route. The two pros that gained the 2 stars were the taziki sauce and the bread. Well this review has gone far too long and I don't want to be a Karen for criticizing every little thing. The fries were decent and the macaroon was decent. End of reviews read more

Three strikes and you're out! Strike One: Food poisoning. Strike Two: an employee calling a very nice woman asking for tzatziki sauce a "b***h" under her breath as I was standing there waiting for them to correct a to-go order they had messed up which I had to drive back to the store for. Strike Three: Picking up a to-go order in the midst of COVID-19 and seeing that not a single employee was wearing a mask, hairnet/hat, or gloves and they were all handling raw and prepared food. No thanks! Plus their Lamb is so dry on the gyros that I get the hiccups just from trying to swallow it. They make ballpark franks look like fine dining. read more

My wife enjoyed a plate of grilled pork and chicken with greek salad, pita bread and rice and I helped....the special was a ribeye steak pita wrap that was so tasty I wanted to lick the wrapper....I can't believe we ate all of it.....mostly my overachieving self. We are local and eat here regularly. The food is fresh and portions are large. We just recently splurged on dessert-equally as delicious as the rest of the menu! I had Alpha and Omega cater a women's event last month and it was a hit. Process was easy, delivery on time, a food was plentiful!!! read more

We were driving through and I wanted Mediterranean. Inviting storefront, lots of natural light inside, friendly staff. Came in and there was a line, but it went quickly. Gyros were quite affordable. Housemade baklava was good, but I really enjoyed the dark chocolate ekmek as it wasn't too sweet. read more

Love the food here! The chickpea gyro is amazing and so is the hummus! And I love the feta fries. The atmosphere is nice as well.

Food is amazing! Pita bread is extremely fresh and flavorful. Great feta fries and gyros! read more

I ordered a lamb gyro and was given a pork gyro. Very disappointed. The chicken was good.

While visiting from North Carolina last week, we ate dinner on Friday night: pitas with the soup of the day--Chicken soup with green lentils. The pita bread was the fluffiest, most flavorful I've ever eaten. The chicken soup was delicious as well. The entertainment for an hour of the evening was Bryson's Hymn Hour which was a delight for those of us who came to sing along and support him. The restaurant has a cozy cafe feel to it. We sat at a round table at the front next to the wine racks and enjoyed every moment. The staff were kind and the chefs were hard at work all evening as the restaurant was full of in-house patrons and take-out diners. We will most certainly return. read more

I called in an order for 2 salads at 2:30pm, the slowest part of the day I'm sure because there was 2 customers inside. Went to pick it up and I stood at the counter for 10 minutes and not a single person came up to ask if I've been helped, though they walked by me the entire time, making eye contact and finding other things to do. One lady was so bold that she stood directly in front of the counter with her back turned to me playing with the coffee machine and when I said "excuse me," she walked away. Did I accidentally call in my order to a parallel universe where customers take their own cash, hand themselves their food, and tell themselves to have a nice day? Update: the owner reached out to me saying they reviewed the cameras and that worker was deaf and other people should have been at the register. read more

This is such a little gem in Waco! The desserts are incredible and the cannoli's rival Mike's pastry in Boston. You can't go wrong with the fries with feta either. Everything's delish! read more

I love Alpha Omega. I eat here almost anytime I am in Waco. My wife is annoyed with how much I want to eat here. The inside is well decorated. Nothing is too overly done, but the Mediterranean theme is there. I have ordered 3 or 4 different items off of the menu. I have ordered the steak, traditional, and beef gyros. Each was very good! BUT, the chick pea gyro is the BEST! It's a falafel gyro and it's simply stunning. The spicy, hot falafel pair perfectly with the cool lettuce, onion, tomato, and tzatziki. It's $5.99 and large enough for me to eat at a meal with no sides. If you do want a side I recommend the feta fries. My wife and I have also split the 3 dip appetizer. We got hummus, an olive dip, and babaganoush. All 3 are very good but the olive dip and pita are my favorite. I would recommend anyone in Waco try this place for an affordable, delicious meal! read more

I've been wanting to stop by for awhile and when I dropped off my dog at a nearby daycare I decided to try it out. I got the ribeye gyro and original fries to share with my significant other and oh my goodness, I fell in love. The ribeye was tender and the mushroom and pepper sauce they added on top complimented the pita so well. Fries were crispy and went great with ketchup. I'll definitely be returning! read more

Oh my I've never experienced pita bread like this. I don't know HOW I am going to enjoy another pita after Alpha Omega. I ordered the chicken gyro and it came out so quick and the pita was super fluffy and unlike anything I've ever eaten. I was in Waco for the day, from Austin; forget day tripping to Waco for Magnolia, I would take a day trip just for the pita at Alpha Omega! Stopping here will always be a must for me from here on out. If you're trying to decide where to eat in Waco, seriously, do yourself a favor and eat here. You won't regret it. read more

I was disappointed that most of the food is out of a can or frozen. Calamari was okay, the marinara sauce was bland. The lamb inside the gyro was bland, no flavor whatsoever. The tiziki sauce and pita were very good. I really wanted some homemade dolmas. I'm hoping D's Mediterranean will not disappoint on their food. read more

Met a friend here for lunch. Not crowded, tables were a bit dirty and this was before any lunch rush. Good prices. Food was good, but it was more onion than chicken. I had the chicken gyro and felt the serving was smaller than I had seen in photos. Again, I felt as though I had ordered an onion gyro rather than chicken. I like the vibe of the place and will be back to give another chance. read more

Food was absolutely mediocre. I have been to Greece several times and the food does not live to par. I was served old chicken in my Gyro, the Pita bread served wasn't fresh, Gyro tasted sour from old Tzatziki from the night before. We've came twice but both times we have been disappointed with food quality. Maybe the reviews were better in 2016 when they were awarded best restaurant but things have deteriorated since then. To us it felt like we were served reheated food. Also the environment lacked adequate heating, it was cold in the seating area during time of writing its December. Baklava was soaked, soft, and lacked a Crispy bite you would get when Baklava is made fresh. We will unfortunately not be returning for a third try. Hopefully restaurant is not using the herbs located right next to parking area where car contamination could be an issue. read more

They were out of several dishes when we went, including the special of the day, and it was still fairly early. I settled for a shrimp gyro that was about 60% bread. read more

Had an excellent lunch here, loved everything I tried. Started with the Beef Tenderloin platter (it's so much food!!) I loved everything on this plate except for the rice. The beef was beautiful, perfectly juicy, good sauce, sauteed oinions and peppers. The taziki sauce is the star of the plate! best taziki I've ever had, I put it on everything! The beef tenderloin platter is kinda like a deconstructed gyro, but tastier. The greek salad was yummier than any greek salad I've had--the feta and sweet dressing paired well with the onions and earthy greens, simple but delightful. Pita bread was perfect! I will say that this dish is not easy to eat, it can be really messy, but every bite was delicious! There was a heavy portion of rice I didn't care for, maybe I'll try to sub the rice with something else next time because it was super dry and flavorless. The beef tenderloin platter is massive and I didn't really eat the rice, but this is plenty food for 2 people. You could easily split an appetizer, beef platter, and a dessert and leave extremely full, almost uncomfortably full! The baklava cheesecake was very good, I enjoyed the amount of whip cream on it for a fluffier, decadent bite. loved the baklava crust, very creative. Really want to try the lemon cake next. My mom had the beef gyro, she said it was the best gyro she's ever had. It does not come with taziki sauce, so you'll need to order of side of that separately. The taziki is so good here, you have to try it. My aunt had the salmon platter. The salmon was great, sauce was good. It came with that rice that isn't so great and steamed broccoli. This is an excellent lunch/dinner for anyone on a diet. It smelled so good too. They have fountain drink choices which aren't my favorite. I hope they start offering fresh lemonade or something special that would pair better with these delicious meals. I don't think these meals go with a coke or that cheap corn syrup-y gold peak tea. I love this pay-at-the-counter gourmet greek restaurant. The staff is friendly and professional. I think the space is a little weird though.. Maybe they need better light fixtures towards the back of restaurant because it is very dark back there even in the middle of the day. So we sat towards the front, there are two entrances, I wish there was only one or I wish they had a revolving door upfront (by franklin ave) because the door stays open and lets hot humid air in and it changes the temperature of the whole front room, by the end of my meal I was sweating in my seat. They would benefit from some sort of new front door solution. Another thing to keep in mind, you might not be able to hear anyone at your table, this is a noisy loud restaurant, the tables are close together, the ceilings are tall without much insulation. We could hear every conversation, even the table across the room. Every laugh, cry, screaming child is amplified, so if wanted peace and quiet order your food to-go. Despite the small things I'd change, this place is 5 stars and a new Waco favorite of mine! I can't wait to come back! read more

Great food and fast service. Decent prices and fast to go orders. Good vibes and staff.

Terrible service, salty food... We had the chicken & pork gyros their sauce was to salty (for us) to eat. Plus the bread or whatever they use was soggy. Save your money just don't go. read more

The food was not flavorful or memorable. The price was high end with drive thro places having more flavor. I had a raw piece of squid on my lemon for squeezing on my cooked fish. Some questionable food handling. read more

The workers here were very helpful, and they keep the seating clean. We got a booth that had just been wiped down with a non-fragrant solution. The food is accessible for all types of eaters, and it is delicious! The only reason I gave it four stars is because there is no falafel option. I think that would help make the food more filling for vegetarians and vegans. Thank you for a great experience! read more

Traveling through Waco, my husband and I discovered Alpha Omega Mediterranean Grill. Here I had the most delicious Greek salad and pita bread I have ever encountered and my husband said his gyro was perfect. Othe cashier's recommendation, we purchased a dessert that is a hybrid baklava and cheesecake. it was scrumptious. The service was great and we enjoyed our meal on their outdoor patio. This restaurant is firing on all cylinders. Thank you! read more

Ambience: amazing. Great place to study. Not loud at all. Not a place you'd go get drunk at. Definitely a place accommodating students. Personally would go here to do work or have group studies at. Cleanliness: clean. Very nice. Food: this is where is went south for us. No salt or pepper on the tables. It's not that it's a bad thing but it's because your food comes in ultra salty a little too salty for our taste. The beef gyro is ground beef that had way too much salt in it. The fries is seasoned and smothered with salt on top of that. The pork gyro was great if it wasn't salted to the bone either. I feel like the place have great potential and can do better. But i'm not the only one that had complained about the salinity of their food. read more

Nice location in downtown Waco. Semi clean restaurant (dead cricket in bathroom). Very nice staff. Nice outdoor seating. We ordered veggie gyros... one without olives and one without feta. The one without feta was far superior to the one without olives. Feta is dry, and the amount of hummus was scant and couldn't overcome that feta... even after scraping off as much of the finely crumbled feta we could. The chickpea balls had good flavor but the inside was so mushy... tasted like raw batter. I don't think I'll go back. read more

Great pork gyro platter and Mediterranean salad. It was a little difficult ordering to know what to order but we are so glad we decided on the pork gyro platter. The meat was in bits vs sliced but it had great flavor. We loved the Mediterranean salad - the feta was so fresh and great flavor. My mom ordered the lamb gyro and it lacked flavor and didn't have enough taziki sauce. read more

I had it delivered on Jan. 19th. I ordered the Shrimp Gyro and a Chicken Gyro. It was awful, the shrimp tasted like it was pulled straight from the sea and slapped on the gyro. Waco is overrun by fast food and chain restaurants. It is very encouraging to see some level of chef driven kitchens emerging, A/O is one of the best of these. This is very well prepared Greek food. They have a fairly extensive menu with several good choices. I have eaten here more than once so I have had a chance to explore the menu. The Gyros are what most people order. They come in several varieties. Lamb ($) and beef are my favorites. Their fries are made from fresh cut potatoes and are very good. I do enjoy the feta fries. The hummus and the baba ganoush are both very tasty. A nice selection of desserts. They fall a bit short in their selection of wines. Very ordinary stuff. They were out of the first two selections I chose. read more

Pita bread is out of this world, so is the olive dip. Baba ganoush and hummus were ok. My husband enjoyed his lamb gyro. I thought the shrimp on my shrimp gyro lacked flavor.
