    Greek salad

We recently started a healthy eating regimen and wanted Greek. We followed Yelp to Alpha Omega near downtown Waco. We got there shortly after they opened at 11:00 due to advise on Yelp to beat the lunch crowd. There were 3 police cars parked and we assumed they were eating there as well. They were ! The food is all freshly made and delicious. I got the chicken Gyro , hubby got the beef Gyro and we both got Greek salads. Very well seasoned and fresh with great sauce. Salads were fresh with tangy Feta and great veggies. Before we left the place was filling up with locals and Baylor students. So glad we came and we will be back

Ate lunch here yesterday with a friend. Had not been in for a while as I usually bring food in and eat at my workspace. Wow, incredible food! Nice setting also. I had the souvlaki, and we ordered chickpea balls, and calamari to share. My friend had a.gyro sandwich. First of all, without any hesitation, I can say that the calamari was among the best I've ever eaten and I've probably ordered calamari 50 times in the past two years. Amazing! Flash fried with a very tasty topping that was mostly calamari and just a thin layer of breading/coating. The chickpea balls, which my friend recommended, we're also outstanding. Deep-fried on the outside and very firm, but incredibly soft on the inside. Perfect presentation! Souvlaki was a nice size portion, which was accompanied by rice and vegetables. My friend enjoyed her gyro too. One of the best meals I've had in Waco in a long time. Also, not a long wait for the food despite a decent size lunch crowd. Nicely done!

Had a delicious meal last night while we were visiting in town, enjoyed so much. I made the walk back by myself for lunch.

Very good Greek spot. Everything was top tier right down to the pita. The fries were fresh and crisp.Tha baklovah was crispy and just moist enough. The one down side was that they didn't have the traditional lamb gyro that comes off the spit. Just shredded lamb. I liked that they had a huge dessert and coffee selection. We are in town from San Antonio and would definitely come back again.

    Chicken thighs dinner! Amazing!

I love this place and have come back many times and it is consistently amazing. I always get the beef gyro and hummus with pita and veggies. The beef gyro had so much flavor in the meat and the pita is so soft, you can tell that it is fresh. I love looking at what pastries that have today in the container even though I never get them. I appreciate the quality and consistency to change it out almost everyday. Must go in Waco!

Idk what this is called but you should find it and eat it. Kunefe type base, Bavarian cream and whipped cream.

Alpha Omega is my favorite place to eat when passing through Waco. Their beef gyro is like, $6.50. I add fries to mine. The baba ganoush is amazing but the real star is the pita bread. Homemade, soft, melt in your mouth but thick enough to hold up to it's fillings. Give me a stack of that pita bread, some falafel, baba ganoush and go away! Their desserts may be the best I've had in this town. Idk what you call it but of them has a baklava or kunefe type base with a Bavarian cream filling and whipped cream on top - heavenly. I'm told they are all homemade, too. Located next door to a great cha place. Walkable are, near downtown and union hall. Plenty of parking.

Do they use MSG in their dishes? I am very allergic to MSG. How do we know if a dish has MSG or not? One will feel thirsty after eating it.

No msg is used or added at Alpha Omega.

I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but what I have tried has been delicious. It is a little more on the pricey side but if you care about clean eating this is the place. Under new ownership. Use to be Luna Juice Bar…read more I came into this café not knowing what to expect. Honestly, I braced myself for subpar, overpriced "health food." What I found instead was something completely different, a thoughtfully crafted menu built with a love not only for fresh, local ingredients but also for the kind of creative flavor combinations that make you want to savor every bite. I ordered the tacos, and they were outstanding, super filling, bright, and fresh. The green salsa deserves special mention: full of flavor, balanced, and not too spicy, the kind of condiment you want on everything. On the side, I had a pour-over coffee served at the perfect temperature, smooth and complex enough that it didn't need sugar or cream. It arrived on a beautiful serving dish alongside a crumbly, moist slice of coffee cake that felt just right with the atmosphere. Speaking of the atmosphere: it's warm, cozy, and intentional. Soft folk music plays gently in the background while tons of natural light pour in from large windows. Each table has fresh-cut flowers, the space is impeccably clean, and natural materials give it a grounded, organic feel. The dining area is small and intimate, wonderful for now, but I could see them needing to expand if word gets out. It's a family friendly space too. Moms, dads, kids, and even toddlers have activities to keep them engaged, while students and professionals can easily enjoy the natural light, clean eating, and good vibes for studying or unwinding. The AC was set to a perfect temperature (the fan was off, but honestly, the airflow felt ideal) making it equally enjoyable for a warm meal or something refreshing and cool. Service was quick, warm, and friendly the kind that makes you feel like the staff actually care about the food and about you as a guest. The fact that they source ingredients locally and support community suppliers just reinforces how counter cultural this café feels: not fast food, not processed, not industrial. Instead, it's a dream of what dining could be slow, thoughtful, and nourishing. If I could sum it up in a few words: warm, cozy, family oriented, community-based. This place is everything one could hope for. I could happily eat here several times a week. More than just a café, it feels like a promise to Waco: that we can become a little more Luna slowing down, choosing peace and quality over fast, cheap, and unhealthy.
