Worst Mediterranean food I've ever eaten. Greasy spoon would be more accurate. Get rid of the deep fryer and learn to cook Mediterranean.

I've travelled around Europe and the food here is absolutely authentic. The gyros are amazing and the staff is friendly and clean as well as organized, visibly hard working and they did a great job. If you're looking for good food and authentic atmosphere as well as a nicer venue for lunch or even a date this is the place to go. Greek food has a lot of pork in it but if you don't eat pork ( like me) they've got plenty of other options. Definitely coming back here and often read more

Being a life long Waco resident, I truly missed Nick's Restaurant that used to be on Waco Dr. That was the only Greek food that was available at the time and it was delicious. When it closed, I just had no place to get a good gyro in Waco anymore. I tried one or two other options as they popped up over the years, but they just weren't very good. I decided to stop in to Alpha Omega tonight and ordered a lamb gyro, fries and hummus. The gyro was absolutely delicious! I loved the fries and the hummus was very tasty. We didn't know what to expect when we decided to dine here. Their website doesn't do this awesome restaurant justice! The food was delicious. Olive spread was unique and a must-have. Their pita bread has the most exquisite, addictive texture and flavor. Pillowy and soft, with delicately crisp edges. Yum! So many wonderful vegetarian options, but my shrimp gyro (though a little drippy and messy, really all the gyros were) was truly incredible. Perfectly cooked shrimps filled up my sandwich, with a flavorful sauce and crisp veggies. Plus reasonable prices for bottles of wine. Wish we'd had room for dessert, because they looked to die for! We were looking for common gyro meat (mixture of lamb and beef) and big fat juicy fries with crumbled feta cheese on top. But they don't serve in that style and we personally didn't enjoy it and their prices are little expensive. So I'll give them two stars. But if you want pure lamp meat, maybe this is where you need to try. read more

Fun restaurant super busy ! But the wait wasn't bad the kitchen staff knock out fresh gyros like they grew up making them the bread was fresh the lamb was tender and not overpowering the Tzatziki was tart and refreshing and the tomatoes were fresh and flavorful simply done and wonderful . The interior is simplistic and clean like the food if it were cooler and in the evening the outdoor seating area would be most excellent ! read more

Great location and atmosphere. Superb pastries and gyros (wide variety of meats). Their Valentine's Day special is well worth the cost of the six course meal. Gyros could be a little less salty - but otherwise everything is exceptional. I only gave it three stars as three months ago I had a bad experience ( bad case of food poisoning ) after enjoying one of their inviting pastries - an isolated incident - as only natural ingredients are used and they are prepared on site. Desserts are fantastic. Food is ok. But the Muzak? Horrid. Sexual Healing on saxophone just doesn't do it for me.

We visited for the fourth time today. We chose the special ribeye gyro and mine was full of gristle and bone shards. My husband got the same and his was tender without gristle and bone. Definitely won't do that again. No tsaki sauce, pretty flavorless. Next time will stick with the lamb gyro. We don't mind paying well for good quality, but mine was not. read more

We had chickpea gyros, fries, greek salad, dolmas, hummus, and babaganoush. Everything was flavorless and soggy. Pitas were really nasty. Cashier, rayna, was very rude. Prices are too high. read more

I like this place. I am not in love with this place. The quality of the products is not the same since they opened. My bread was stale. It used to be the highlight of my trip here. Had two desserts. One was off the. Harts great, one (traditional Greek dessert) was good, but not great. I will return another time and see if the bread is better. read more

It's vegan and vegetarian friendly! Food is fresh, flavorful, and filling! Had the hummus with veggies, fries with Feta, and spinach spanakopita (which was probably the best I've had in a long time!) Breakfast: Alpha Omega is the best cafe in Waco. Hands down. The croissants and fresh breads rival anything I have eaten anywhere, including Europe. We have needed a patisserie in Waco and this is hits the spot. Lunch: Went with two other girls for lunch, and we had a lovely time. The food was really great quality, though the portions were on on the smaller end. We each got a gyro and shared four appetizers/sides and a dessert. The phyllo feta rolls with honey were the biggest hit, though the olive tapenade and feta fries were also great. The spanokopita was good if you want a lot of spinach with less cheese and pastry. The strawberry shortcake type dessert very good, light and not too sweet. read more

A great (and LOCAL!) place to eat in Waco! Try a gyro with some Greek feta fries and you'll be stuffed. The Greek salad with grilled chicken is filling too-just make sure to save room for a pastry that was hand made in house by the owner. There are always several delicious specials going on every day. The beef puff pie is a must try while they still have it! If anything is wrong with my order (rare for the amount of times I've eaten there, but it's happened) the staff makes it right. The owner really cares that her customers are satisfied. I'll keep coming back for more amazing Greek food! read more

This place has a great environment with a cozy, brick, boho setting. I had the beef gyro and it was delicious and messy, it was definitely generously packed with tender beef. The fried cheese ball and veggie chickpea balls were unique and full or flavor. On the side I had hummus with the softest pita bread . I had the pork gyro with pasta salad and an order of hummus. It was all so mouth-watering good. You can tell that the ingredients are very fresh. It is a family owned restaurant that serves greek soul food. I am so excited about this place. I am definitely hooked. They also have beautiful European pastries and gelato. recently I went to Alpha Omega and really like the rib-eye gyro. however the amount of salt is inconsistent for 4 times I was here. only twice it's not overly salty. ----------- I went around lunch and it was crowded. Pros: Nice place and decor Good portion and price for lunch (less than $9 for a shrimp gryo) Cons: Pita in my gryo was dried, really dried. (I like the softer pita like Xristo's pita) Crowded Closed at 2 Something missing in my gryo but I don't know what it was. read more

Nice dishes with tender lamb and tasty Moussaka Baklava perfect without being syrup sweet. Will give this place another try for sure.

We stopped in on a rainy Saturday night just before closing. What a pleasant surprise. They still did everything to make us welcome and and served us a nice meal at a good price. Imagine 2 specials of the day and a shared desert for $25. And it was very good. From the looks of the menu it would be a good lunch place as well. For sure we'll be back. read more

Good flavors here. The cheese balls were a bit strong flavor for me. I may have to try them again to see if that was a one time issue. The gyros are good sized and nice flavors. Optional side of feta fries were nice. Options for dessert too. Sometimes feels a bit cramped but nice revitalization of old architecture. Simply good. Big disappointment. We have been to 1424 over 50 times and love it. Alpha is not at all like 1424. The gyro had chunks of meat not sliced meat. The bread was way too thick and dry/old. If you want extra sauce be ready to pay for it. Overall very poor quality.......bid let down. read more

The food was great and the atmosphere reminded me of an Austin vibe. The hummus and gryos were amazing! It was very difficult to find the restaurant because the sign was not lit up well. There was no way of knowing it was there if you passed by it on the street. The person who took my order was not very knowledge about the menu when asked what he recommended for sides. When this place is "on", the food is wonderful. The gyros are wrapped in soft, pillowy pita bread with generous stuffings. The fries are hot, crisp, and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff isn't always "on". Out of five visits over the past few months, we were served stale pita bread and fries on at least two occasions. In both instances, the owner was not on the premises, and I can't help thinking that the staff's standards aren't as high as hers. It's really disappointing because we went expecting the wonderful food we had received before. Hope they work out the consistency issues. read more

Terrible food experience. Pita was dry, chicken was subpar and the sauce and vegetables on the gyro were excessive and mushy. Also, overpriced for such low quality food. I would suggest xristos food truck or Zoe's kitchen for Mediterranean / Greek food. Do not waste your time here, you will be disappointed. read more
