Hello everyone, long time review reader-seldom review writer here, and if you are on the fence about whether or not to hire Mike and Alpha Omega AND you enjoy stories written by someone who fancies themselves hilarious.....well then buckle up and let's go on adventure to long, long ago. My wife and I bought our small home without wanting to expand our family. We put our money into traveling and slowly fixing up our house (which the previous owners did some interesting things... bookmark that, we'll come back to them and If you're still reading, I swear this all is relevant!) So one day we noticed something was missing and decided to try for a child, fast forward a year and that child is now nearly one. We weren't going to move and wanted to upgrade the paver patio in our yard to add a nice relaxing shady space for us to be outside together. The previous owners (remember them? Told ya they'd be back) built the patio by placing them right on the ground and they were broken, misaligned, a massive ugly trip hazard. (See pictures below). It was June 21st (I'm certain of the day, it was my birthday) and I decided to reach out to a few people on yelp. Mike was the first to respond and did so within 20 minutes. We communicated via text and he offered to come by that day for a quote. Within hours he was at my door and was an immediately likable guy. He listened intently to what we were looking for and when he asked when I was looking for it to be done I sheepishly said my son's first birthday is on July third and we're having a party July 5th so if that's at all possible.... July 5th. I was shocked to see he was not shocked at all, just seemingly doing mental calculations. He took some pictures, measurements, and asked about the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad blue door on the garage and I quickly said yes, yes please change that. He said he would try his best to have the project done by July 5th. I was hopeful but figured it wouldn't happen, no big deal really. This is what set Mike apart from ANYONE I've ever dealt with in any kind of service industry. Mike moved heaven and earth to get this project done. With the project being was so soon he personally delivered the materials to my house and said that he would take them out, paver by paver, one by one by hand and stack them in my garage by himself. I said no way at LEAST I can help with this (so heroic, isn't it?) and to work we went. So not only above and beyond, not only extra mile, but getting to know about him and his family was a great little extra to the project. Mind you this delivery was around 8 in the evening. I am certain there are things he would have rather been doing. The project started the next morning and Mike communicated every single step of the way. The installation went perfectly, the pavers look incredible, and Mike and his crew were phenominal- the patio itself took 1 day (12x15). Think about this though, 12 days from meeting Mike to a finished, gorgeous, perfectly installed patio. The door is being installed tomorrow and if you'd like to come on another long run on sentence ride then tune back in, friend! I'll leave you tonight with this however; if you're looking for someone who cares, who listens, who isn't pushy or condescending, who knows what they're doing, what they're talking about and will get it done right and do what ever it takes, hire Mike. I'm sure there are plenty of capable companies I could have hired but it wouldn't have turned out nearly the same, in so many ways. Mike went out of his way, wayyyy out of his way to make my sons birthday special for my family. On top of it all he said he was so very excited for all the family memories we're going to make on that patio. I mean, come on, you know you're smiling at that!
Ps-While I did proofread this, getting ready for this party has left me pretty wiped so I apologize for any typos or confusing jibberish. And it turns out kids are tiring...who knew??
POST POST SCRIPT: I found out you can't review a business twice on yelp, BUT you can add, so add I shall. I know you guys were all teetering on the edges of your seats, but it is Independence Day, and along with our beautiful nation I am celebrating independence from a god awful patio and door and ringing in the holiday sitting on my beautiful patio with my stunning new door that doesn't look like it was in that nuclear blast scene in Terminator. You know what I'm talking about. Anyhow, apparently I have reached the max for the review! Hire Mike! read more
