Ken is a hidden gem! He saved me so much money and my stereo is back in full working condition. When I took it to the dealership, they quoted me $2200- Outrageous! Ken fixed it for $230. He is friendly, knowledgable, and so reasonable. The trade off? Expect to not have your stereo for several weeks. It took about 8 weeks for mine while he waited on back-ordered parts. He won't call and update you either, but if you call him he will tell you what's going on. Even though it was inconvenient not having it, I would do it over again a hundred times to save that amount of money. He also does not do installation so you would have to get the stereo removed elsewhere. I took mine to Stereo Super Stores and they took it out & re-installed it for $60. Small mom and pop shops are dwindling, let alone electronic repair shops that give you a guarantee on their work. This is especially true in our age of planned obsolescence. Once upon a time though, purchases were investments and that investment was meant to last you a lifetime. Ken's shop ensures electronics can last not just your lifetime, but several. He and his sons, who also work here, have made it a family business. I love stereo gear and there are not a lot of techs around that work on these units. Wow. Just wow! I haven't been amazed by a business' customer service in a long time but Ken and Alpha Electronics knocked it out of the park. The set expectations for me right from the first call. I had to get my car radio fixed and wanted to keep the original factory model. I thought it'd be a job I could do myself but after talking to Ken he assured me I was in good hands. Right he was! If I'd have taken it apart myself what I thought was wrong would have caused a much larger problem. Ken knows his stuff. We took our TV here after it would not turn on one day. The man that helped me was very professional and friendly. The shop is absolutely filled with old electronics like some kind of mad scientist workshop but he was able to diagnose the issue within a couple of days for just 25 dollars. Unfortunately, the part we needed was going to be almost as much as a new TV (I verified this online once given the part number; no scam markup on parts). Took a long time to get my console fixed. Every time I called they were just happening to work on it, or had an update and hadn't called. Granted it was a vintage piece and I know electronics aren't the easiest to find. That's why I gave them 4 stars. Crap! Ken was worthless to my Samsung wireless surround sound Module.! I waited for about a month with zero calls, so I called in & asked "what is up with my part?" He said it is going to cost $150 dollars for a new power board, so I said alright get on. About another month later, still have not heard from Ken! I called in & he told me he has to buy it from china & it will take another 3 weeks to get in, so I told him it has been 2 months already & when did you not get it within these 2 months. No answer! I gave Ken the benefit of the doubt & called 3 weeks later & I remind you, still Zero calls. "Hey Ken is my module ready yet its been almsot 4 months?" He replies "oh hey we got in the power board & that was not the problem, the problem is another part, which they no longer make" So at the end of our conversation he says "it will probably be cheaper to buy a whole new system " No shit dumb fuck! You should have told me that you could not fix it in the 1st place when I paid you $35 just to "see if you can fix it" Now I am $150 down & he had the balls to tell me " just leave it here you have no use for it anyway " I ened up $150 down 4 months of wonders & I walked off with the same problem I walked in with. My radio was designed perfectly back in 1994 and never let me down. Well, 20 years later it finally started sounding bad. I took it apart and the thing looked like toast. I called around and found Alpha Electronics. Although I didn't have a radio in my car for two weeks, when I put it back in, it sounded better than I ever experienced. Ken had painstakingly replaced 32 capacitors and two transistors under a magnifying glass in the back of the store. He had it hooked up to some speakers and ran it for me when I came to pick it up. And even though this came with a price, I would be happy to pay it again. I really trust this place to fix anything I can't manage. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but felt compelled to write one about Alpha Electronics. I took in my Sansui AU 11000a vintage amp in for a restoration. It was still having issue after I had it worked on at another shop in the valley where they basically took my money. Ken the owner (tech) laid out the process and told me they would call when it was completed. Not being in any rush I was mostly concerned with quality of work. Then this pandemic hit shortly after I left it! They called me in early June letting me know it was ready to be picked up. I hadn't been able to get to them until early July. Ken explained in depth what was done and returned parts that were replaced. He also walked me through a demonstration. My baby sounds amazing!!! I'm an avid collector of vintage audio so Alpha has a customer as long as they are in business. I will be taking my Yamaha CR 1020 in for a restoration shortly. Thx you KEN !! read more

So I own an Panasonic 3D player, I've owned it since Sept 2012, the last year in a half I noticed my player wasn't playing certain titles. In the beginning I just thought the movies were bad so no big deal. Fast forward to year of 2017 and my 3D player was getting worse. I had to keep opening and closing the player anywhere between 10-30 times before it finally would read the disc. My 3D player also came with a 1000 watt surround sounds and I learned Panasonic had discontinued making my specific kind of player so that means I would have to get an entirely new 3D player and surround sounds which would run me anywhere between $500-$800. I def didn't want to pay that so I looked for a really long time to see if I can find anybody else who may have the same player as me. Luck would have it I was able to find multiple people but they were triple charging the price. Finally I decided to google an electronic repair shop and I came across this place. I read every single review and they were all positive. I told them my dilemma and to bring it in. They charged me the $15 fee to analyze it and they contacted me 3 days later and told me I had an laser issue and that's why the player wasn't reading the disc and that I should buy a new one, so I had to explain to them the player comes with surround speakers. After explaining it to them they said give us a week and we'll see what we can do. They contacted me in a week and said they found the rare laser I needed but it was in another country. The fee would come out to $195 total since the laser was the only one in the world renaming. I didn't have the money until I got paid and in good faith they trusted I would pay them once I got paid and they ordered the part for me and paid for the shipping. The part came in less than a week and they installed the rare laser that same day. When I took my player home it worked flawlessly like a brand new player. Now I make sure I clean my player after every 10-15 hours of use so I won't have this issue. These guys went out of their way to fix my player and saved me a lot of money. $195 compared to over $600 I would've had to spend so I def recommend this shop to anyone. They will def exhaust every measure to fix your electronic and not only that your price will very well be under $100 read more

These guys are awesome!!! Had a 5 year old Samsung plasma that just went POP and started smoking. Took it to these guys and they repaired it the same week. They even stayed open late really late tonight so we could pick it up before the holidays. Really nice guys...saved us a few thousand dollars and talked us out of buying a new OLED tv...guess they have some kinks to work out before they're worth it.
