In short, this place tried to scam me out of $9000 for unneccesary repairs. My motor home broke down in El Paso the day before Thanksgiving 2024. The only towing company that was open at the time suggested I have it towed it to Alpha Auto Repair since it was close to their offices. When I spoke to the manager on the phone, he informed me that the engine had thrown two rods and would need a complete rebuild at a cost of over $9000. After reading some of the online reviews and finding the business has an F rating from the BBB, I found another repair shop (Pro Tech Diesel) and called back to have it towed there. When I called and explained to the manager that Pro Tech did a lot of RV work, he assured me that 75% of his business was RVs. I looked at Google street view and saw all cars outside the shop, not a single RV, and both garage doors were much too small to accommodate one. I smelled a rat and had the motor home towed to Pro Tech. The manager there informed me that it only needed a new distributor cap, rotor, and wires, and he completed the repair for much less than a rebuild would have cost. I therefore concluded that the Alpha Auto Repair manager was lying to scam me out of $9000. read more

I drove in my 2005 trailblazer ext with 125,000 miles because I keep hearing a clicking noise and I had already taken it to Midas and Firestone thinking from what they told me that the fan clutch was going out and I wanted a third opinion. They listened and had me move my SUV back and forth and within a few seconds told me exactly what was the clicking. It was the drive axle u joints and cv on the axle and not what the other places said the problem was with my SUV. He told me if I got the parts he would be happy to install or he could get the parts. I got the new parts ,took my SUV in at opening and got it back same day . The other two shops I had seen wanted my SUV for a few days and they would have to get the parts at a greatly inflated price. They treated me like I was family and I left with a smile on my face and thanking them! If you want it done right and save you time and money ,go here it's really hard to find a awesome auto shop that are honest and reliable. read more

This shop blew my mind. My husband and i were driving from LA to Atlanta and broke down in El Paso. AAA driver Martin suggested we go to this shop off the highway. Great call! Dave (Mo), the boss, is a character, but has a heart of solid gold. He could have taken us for a fortune, but instead, he did his best to get us back on the road the right way. Martin, the mechanic, poured his heart into Lola and made her sing. He was floored that she was running at all with all the things that were wrong with her, and saddened that the mechanics that worked on her in LA let me leave in the condition she was in. She sounds and runs completely different now. I thank God for both of them! It's funny that as we were getting ready to head out, we all felt the same, "I'll miss you" feeling. One shouldn't have such a connection with strangers, but this shop really made us feel like family. FOLLOW UP: Mo has called or texted us everyday to make sure everything is ok. I'm in the military and was driving on PCS orders from Galveston, TX to Oceanside, CA when I stopped for the night in El Paso, TX. I then realized the clutch components on my truck were starting to fail and I would not be able to continue without getting it fixed. It was Sat night before Easter Sunday and after calling around local repair shops in the area, alpha auto services were the only ones who answered. Although they were not able to get me in on Sunday, I was able to drop it off first thing Monday morning and they made my vehicle the priority since I was from out of town and on a timeline to get to CA. They quickly identified the issues, notified me of the needed repairs with a quote that was within the amount that I had expected and told me the truck would be done the same day, which was a huge relief. I picked up the truck that afternoon and was charged as quoted, a fair price for the repair. They had me test drive the truck before I left to ensure there were no issues with the repair and the new clutch worked great. Thank you Alpha Auto Services, I was able make it to my destination with no further issues whatsoever with the truck. You saved the day! read more

BEWARE: This auto mechanic is a complete scam. Make sure to compare comprises before accepting any quote. I am a passing traveler and my car broke down. I called Advanced Auto Mechanic and they agreed to accept the car. Geico arranged for towing from Kings towing, only for the assigned driver Jorge aka George to call me and inform me that Advanced auto operates on scam and had multiple police activities not knowing that Jorge had a deal with Alpha Automative. Once I arrived, Alpha aka Mo insisted in taking me for lunch while they order the parts and work on car. The used car parts was $530 whereas the new parts from autoZone it was $100. The total was $885 of which he gave me a discount of $185. While in the shop Jorge called insisting in meeting outside of the shop since he did not want his movement to be tracked to the shop so Alpha and I waited outside of his shop but he later messaged that he would call back. Only for Alpha to claim that he needs to use the restroom, we returned and I was after whispering something in the mechanic's ear that my car was ready. We test drove my during which I called my local mechanic and he informed Alpha that the price was excessively high of which then he became very belligerent. He ripped me off by $475 and the price was reversed back to my account. Please don't go to Alpha Automative especially if you are a traveller and don't allow any tow truck driver to change the location of your tow. WARNING!! WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP! My husband and I have been trying to get his BMW fixed here in El Paso and had been to 2 other shops we were tired and very frustrated because we couldn't seem to find a mechanic to be able to fix it. We were having it towed and the tow truck driver recommended this shop Alpha Auto Repair right off of Montana. My husband meet with the Owner Mo. And Mo said no problem I'll take care of you, we will get the car fixed he promised. The next day he called and said it would be $2000 dollars, now this seemed very expensive but we were willing to pay to get the car fixed because it's my husbands only transportation. We just asked if he can tell us and show us what he was replacing and that he list all of this on the invoice. We picked the car up and in a week it started again with the exact reason we took to the shop in the first place, nothing was fixed. We then took it back to MO and he said he would fix it immediately . As we live by the shop we drive by and were able to see that after we dropped it off the vehicle never moved called MO and he said he drove it and there where no problems. Soooooo again we go to pick up the car because MO says the car is fixed. And then not even 2 hours later it left my husband stranded in THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC FOR THE EXACT REASON WE PAID MO AND HIS SHOP $2000. WE NEVER GOT TO SEE WHAT HE REPLACED BECAUSE HE SAID TO TRUST HIM. OUR CAR WAS NEVER FIXED HE DIDN'T FIX OR REPLACE ANY PARTS, AS NOW IT IS AT ANOTHER SHOP WHERE THEY ARE TRULY FIXING IT AND HELPING US. MO LIED TO US, HE TOOK OUR MONEY AND DID NOT FIX OUR CAR.
