Beautiful 2-bedroom unit overlooking the Deschuttes River. It was a delightful stay. Alpenglow staff responded quickly on the two occasions that we needed help. read more

We had a fabulous time in Bend, Oregon because the staff at Alpenglow Vacation Rentals worked with us to assure that we had selected the perfect place to stay. Everyone was patient, friendly, professional, and so very helpful. We stayed at the Lil' Oar House in July 2023 and it was perfectly located exactly where we needed to be. Close to the river, shopping, breweries, restaurants, hiking, river surfing (have you ever done that before?). It's an amazing sight to see. Most importantly the home is extremely comfortable to hang out in and relax. I'm the mom and I travelled with our three young adult daughters -- they coined themselves the three Lil' Oars after the house. It was serendipity that brought us to the house and meant to be for sure. We are telling our friends and family members to always work through Alpenglow Vacation Rentals if they are traveling to Bend or any other area that the company serves -- they really take care of you. Thank you so much. xox read more

UPDATE: Unfortunately Victoria continues to blame her customers rather than take responsibility. To address a couple of her falsehoods...My reply to going our own ways was "that is fine with me." I have this in writing. Also, I am only on my second management company. The first was my poor experience with Alpenglow. Currently, I feel well cared for and am paying less for a superior service. ORIGINAL POST: My experience with AlpenGlow has been very unfortunate. The owner, Victoria, tries to manage all the properties herself. This only works when everything is going without a hitch. During a year of her managing my property, numerous times she has been unreachable. This happens when an issue arises and she is unable to perform her duties. The result is any care stops. Multiple times we had arranged to discuss an important detail regarding my property. Since she was distracted, I did not receive calls that we had agreed on, no followup with these missed calls and felt in the lurch. Since then, I have found a property management that CHARGES LESS and HAS A TEAM to manage their properties. With many options in our area, I would highly recommend a management company that works as a team, charges less and can meet their obligations. You can note this is a common complaint, poor communication. Unfortunately, rather than accepting this criticism and adjusting, Victoria tends to blame her own customers read more

Alpenglow has been managing our property for 2 years and we are pleased with their service. They do a great job maintaining the house, managing any repairs needed, overseeing the gardener and their housecleaner is amazing. They pay attention to details to ensure our guests have a good experience. read more

Be wary of contract terms you sign for an Alpenglow Vacation Rental property in Bend, Oregon. Their website will quote daily rental charges. Your invoice will also show a Cleaning Fee of $175.00, and a Accidental Damage Protection Fee of $77.4, both of which are not refundable. However, your invoice will not say that the Cleaning Fee and Accidental Damage Protection fee are nonrefundable so don't be surprised by these hidden fees when you budget for a rental property. Also, be forewarned that the property's yard is riddled with old, dried dog poop (neighbor's dog?) for which they will try to charge you cleanup fees. Property not well-maintained: leaky faucet, 2 doors to outside that could not be locked, many lightbulbs nonfunctional. Roslyn Muller July 2021 read more

Perfect family neighborhood for kids and dogs. This house is 2 blocks from a children's park and and one of numerous off-leash dog parks in Bend. The 4 bedrooms fit our family group of 7 and a toddler perfectly. The house came with a pack n play, stroller, and fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook (even a rice cooker). We enjoyed the enclosed back yard, including 2 BBQ's and a hot tub, and the large front porch with fended in yard. The home is in walking distance to many local eateries, breweries, farm stand, and grocery store. Alpenglow was so easy and nice to deal with. The check in process was easy and seamless. I left items in a drawer and Rachel at Alpenglow was very nice to go check on it and agree to mail my items back to me. Great customer service. We will definitely use Alpenglow again in the future. read more

Home owners, I would encourage you to read previous reviews by people who would like to rent your properties, but won't based solely on Victoria's rude and unprofessional communication. I simply asked her if Alpenglow would be able to accommodate a noon checkout (instead of 11am) and her response was "NO, I welcome you to try another home". This was a last-minute rental and so the home went unrented for the weekend as I was happy to take my business elsewhere. read more

Buyer Beware - this company is very familiar with the "excessive cleaning" additional cost scam you read about in the news. We were charged an additional $600 with no receipt of explanation, except a number of pictures of a dirty toilet and windows. We followed the check out instructions exactly as described, and at no point did it say "also please clean the toilets." Is this not one of the normal cleaning activities performed after a week long stay? The other items included damages to the location that were already in place prior to our stay - we attempted to point this out, but received no acknowledgment of our email response. They charge an "Accidental damage protection fee" but it is a total lie - when reviewing their website, we noticed that the fee excludes basically any cleaning or damage. Unbelievably deceitful. Please be warned - use another rental company or add an additional $600 in fees to whatever you are prepared to pay. read more

Nothing about this place was as they describe it. Checkin is NOT at 3pm, it is after 4pm. There is not flatware/dinnerware for 10 (plates yes, nothing else) We had six of us and had to eat in shifts and wash the forks so the next set of people could eat. There is no AC. We had enough hot water for 2 showers, then we had to wait for maintenance to show up to reset the water heater. This happened EVERY DAY of a one week stay. They didn't care!!! read more

We stayed in the Columbia Street house over Memorial Day weekend and had a great experience. The house was lovely, beds were comfy, the BBQ propane tank was full, we enjoyed using the kayaks and hot tub, and having the park next door was great for some nieces who were visiting. I am so appreciative of Alpenglows customer service. In the middle of our wedding reception on Saturday night we realized that we were locked out of the house. My sister called and someone came out to the house and delivered an extra key!! read more

The property was not the problem. Just the agents. They give you a code to check/let yourself in and out. They leave instructions on what to do when you leave. Strip the beds and leave bedding on floor Start a wash of towels Fill dishwasher and start. Put all rubbish and recycling in communal bins. Check check check check You then get an email claiming bedding is dirty and that you have stained carpets and damaged the property. When asked for proof, they says they don't have to prove anything. I SMELL A SCAM!! read more

We rented a house from Alpenglow May 2020 and enjoyed the location and it was well appointed. However on the morning after the arrival we found a water leak from the shower to the downstairs. We immediately took a picture and emailed it. Over two days we left 2 voice messages and sent 2 emails and had no response. Finally we called the after hours number and reached the owner. Ultimately we paid for a house with 2 bathrooms and that's not what we experienced. And since we also had no response over 2 days we are leaving a review noting we will not rent from the agency again. read more

My company was having all remote employees come to town for a meeting, so I booked this house. Everything was GREAT!!!! The house was clean, full of natural light and plenty of room and privacy for everyone. The back yard was perfect for a sunny afternoon BBQ and the house seemed to have everything you could think of; straws, a leash, plastic bags... With this house being in such a great location it made it easy for people to get coffee in the am or dinner in the evening. I would book the house on NW Congress in the future. read more

By far the best experience I've ever had with a property management company on every level. I highly recommend. read more

WORST real estate agency EVER! Every step of the potential transaction with these people was terrible: I send an email query to several different properties and every one of them replied with an answer to my question except these people. Instead, I got a whole bunch of BS "you have been pre-approved to rent" spam emails and then finally a very vague "what property are you interested in" reply to my original message. When I wrote back telling them that they needed to improve their tracking and handling of incoming messages, I got a very smart-ass reply. So in summary, even if you just request more information on one of their properties, you get a whole bunch of unwanted emails, yet no one answers your actual questions. When I tried to call the office to speak to the manager, I only got a recording. This organization is VERY, VERY shifty - renter beware. There are too many other quality operations in Bend to even consider doing business with these amateurs and crooks. read more

We rented (3 months) a property managed by Alpenglow Vacation Rentals. Our experience with them was not very good. On the positive side they are very nice people. On the negative side they were unresponsive to our issues. We think being responsive to the needs of a property renter is one of the basic job of a property manager. Our involvement with them seemed uneven from the start. On our second day there they walked into the house unannounced. Really? They didn't know we would be there? They advertise a 24 hour hotline to call in emergencies. Due to an area power outage (not their offices) the house alarm started a loud beeping overnight due to what we think was a low backup battery. We could not sleep due to the loud beeping and had no way to disable the alert. We called their emergency number but the message said they were not available. When we questioned them the next day they said "Oh that happens, we need to fix it". They never followed up to research and fix the problem with the alarm. Since we were staying for an extended period we were informed we could use the mailbox. We had planned to have our medications mailed to us. We asked many times for the mailbox key. They didn't follow up with us and it took two weeks of our pestering them (with no followup on their part) to get the key. On several occasions we asked for the code for the external garage door opener... they never responded. We asked them several times via phone and email to inform the owners that we wanted stay in the home for three months next year and they never responded. We ended up renting another home. We think we are pretty low maintenance people, but their performance didn't come up to even minimum standards. read more

We've spent a lot of time over the past year in Bend and have stayed in hotels and house rentals (through property management companies and owners, including Airbnb). Over the past year, we've rented from Alpenglow four separate times, totaling over 30 days. Pros: - Great properties. These seem to be vacation homes and they are, for the most part, in very good condition. They also tend to have a lot of nice amenities (many are dog friendly, they have AC, great locations, etc). The linens are high quality, the kitchens of the older ones are generally very well stocked (not so much the newer ones) and they are very clean. - The staff are very nice, when you interact with them. One of the town's mottos is "Be nice - you're in Bend" and they certainly embody that here. Cons: - We've seen repeatedly that the service level drops off once the booking is complete and we're actually in the house. Emails go unanswered (including one about mice in the house and another about one of the beds breaking); repairs are not always addressed; and there were two mixups on our reservation dates which resulted in us being twice locked out of our house. - I hate their new early check-in policy: $100 to check in 2 hours early (the regular check in time is at 4pm). This is enforced even if the house is empty the night before. I think they are probably severely understaffed (the owner didn't even respond to my email with this feedback). It's not a reason not to rent from them but just know that while the properties are nice, you're pretty much on your own after you check in. read more

Do not rent from them. We stayed in a pet friendly unit. We washed the dog bowls, put the bed away, and walked the yard to clean up poop. We dragged a kennel out there because they requested if the dog is to be left alone it had to be kenneled. The dog was kenneled in the living room at night and when we left for very short periods without him. We we're the first people to leave the unit and cleared our bed of sheets and followed their long list of rules. Now we are being told our dog went into a room through a closed door where another couple was still asleep and he shit and pissed in there. Then they packed up all there stuff and never noticed a boxer sized shit on the floor?! They charged us extra fees to clean up this imaginary shit and now won't talk to us because we are harassing them. Their story has changed multiple times and they won't provide pictures of the damage. Avoid at all costs! read more

This is the first negative review that I have ever posted about a business so this should speak how appalled I am with Alpenglow Vacation Rentals. I would also suggest that you read all of the yelp reviews about them prior to renting a property. We booked a vacation home rental from them 5 months in advance of our trip but we needed to cancel about 6 weeks prior to our scheduled arrival. We paid over half of the fee upfront through Airbnb. Airbnb stated that we were not within the Airbnb 60-day cancellation policy for a full refund and that we needed to contact Alpenglow to request a refund so we reached out to them. Alpenglow was confident that they would be able to fill the dates in December since Bend, Oregon is a highly desirable ski destination. In early December, with a very significant snowpack at Mt. Bachelor, we checked online to see if the property we rented was available for the dates we booked and sure enough, they rented the property and it was unavailable. We contacted Alpenglow and they confirmed that it was rented and they would issue us a refund. We contacted them in January to check on the status of the refund and then they changed their story and said that no refund was due. We then called Victoria directly and she was completely unprofessional. They took our money and then rented the property out and were perfectly fine with that type of business practice. They misrepresented to us "in writing" on the Airbnb portal about issuing a refund if they were able to rent out the property. We will be more diligent in the future to read customer reviews prior to renting any vacation properties. read more

Our 2 night stay could not have been more lovely. We had no problems at all with accessing the property and were immediately greeted with a wonderful surprise in that it had recently been redecorated beautifully, so it was much prettier than what we were expecting based on the photos (I believe those have since been updated). We were also happy to be provided with a nice bottle of wine as well as coffee. Everything was clean and comfortable for our family trip. My grandson was ecstatic to see that there was a telescope in the master bedroom as well as a few kid friendly games. All of the adults enjoyed the jacuzzi and also the privacy afforded by having separate bathrooms for each of the bedrooms, including a luxurious tub in the master suite. The views were incredible and there was a general air of peace and quiet. While not inexpensive (Bend is just pricey!), I did feel like we got good value compared with other options in the region, especially since we booked directly through Alpenglow which knocked a chunk off of the Airbnb quote. We found this to be ideal for our group which included extended family ranging from toddlers to fifty-somethings, but I think it would also be great for a group of couples wanting to travel together and enjoy all Bend has to offer. It's close enough to the center of town to be convenient, but still far enough away to be peaceful and pretty. We can't wait to come back! read more

Renters beware of the NW Riverfront rental,( Young PARTIERS next door). The Riverfront house is really nice, and a great location. The kitchen could be stocked better with cooking equipment, but the neighbor situation was unacceptable. The day we arrived the neighbors next door had around 20 people in the backyard drinking beers, and smoking endless amounts of marijuana. The fence between the houses is about 2 feet tall, so it almost feels like you are sharing a yard. We saved up for two years to do this family vacation, and the first thing I am doing at the house is having a talk with my 10 year old about drugs and alcohol. The neighbors also smoke regular cigarettes, and there were many times that we had to leave our yard, and go inside, and shut all the windows and doors so as to not breath smoke. After another "day party" we had young people from next door sitting on our dock, and bench. Some of them were diving off of our dock, and hanging on to the dock from their rafts. That's when we called Alpenglow about our situation. It took more than a day for them to respond, and eventually someone from Alpenglow went over to the neighbors, and spoke with them. Thing were pretty mellow after that, but the second hand marijuana and cigarette smoke was always an issue. In short, Alpenglow wasn't being straight forward, and they are certainly charging top dollar for the NW Riverfront house. After we were home we received a" how was your stay" letter. We responded saying the neighbor situation was unacceptable, and we felt we were due some sort of reimbursement for all that we had to deal with. Instead Alpenglow offered no discount, no explanation, or an apology. Will never use them again. read more

We have used Alpenglow Vacation Rentals as our property management company for our Bend home for the past 3 years. Stunningly poor customer service. I'm shocked. VIctoria actually hung up the phone when I went to book a vacation rental. She would not honor the price advertised on her website. It was incredibly shaddy. I had heard this from others, but wanted to give her a chance. She tried to UP sell me. Sadly, in this economy false advertising is not good for business. SAD! read more

Renters "beware". ..The Aplenglow owners of condo rental in Bend Oregon. My husband and I made a reservation for a condo in Bend, Oregon for the week of June 16th. Unfortunately my 94-year-old uncle who lives alone in LA fell the weekend of June 10th and fractured his arm. I'm his POA for medical care and I needed to fly down to LA because he was scheduled for surgery on June 16th. I did try to contact Alpenglow June 11th but no one was available. I did call again while at work on June 12th to explain my situation. I asked if there was any way we could obtain a refund or even be able to use the condo at a later date. They contacted my husband and informed him that the only refund they would provide was the pet deposit and no we could not use the condo a later date. I was very disappointed with the owner who did not show any compassion towards my situation. This caused more stress because having to fly out emergently to care for my family member (the extra cost for a emergent flight) and the lost of 1200.00 for the condo rental. This was the first time my husband and I decided to rent a condo instead of staying in a lodge, and after this experience I will definitely never use this company again. It appears that they are not very customer oriented or compassionate to emergent life situations, which goes to show the owners are more concerned of the money instead of customer service. read more
