I took my Honda clarity there to get what I thought it needed, brakes and rotors, by the way I'm not a mechanic. I was also hearing a noise from the front driver side area. The guys at Alonzo's told me they would take a look at it and let me know. Couple hours later, I get a phone call from them telling me that my brakes and rotors which I thought needed to be changed out are just fine. Additionally, they did not hear any noise coming from the front of the car a dishonest shop could've easily charged me for the brakes and rotors. Less than a year into my rotor and brake pad replacement, I started to have issues again, just outside of the warranty period. To my surprise, because there are hardly any good/honest companies out there these days, they took full accountability and redid the job for free. Took my car in the other day for a coolant leak and needed one 12$ part changed out Had to pay 200$ for a diagnostic check then Got quoted $1494+ 490 for a temp gauge... 2.2k to replace a part is RIDICULOUS. This is the first time using Alonso's Auto Repair. I decided to go with them because of their excellent reviews and their polite and professional customer service upon my first phone call. I spoke with Navy first, who offered to call me back with a more accurate estimate on my repair. He promptly called back and gave me scheduling options due to needing to order a part. I explained to him that my car is still operational and I have a newborn and would prefer to keep my car as mu h as possible. After discussing options with my husband we decided to go through with this pricey repair, this was the best price offered to me with the best reviews and they were very professional. I now worked with Freddy. Freddy asked for a deposit to order the part so I could keep my car until they were ready. It was a big repair and they would need at least an entire working day . Parts arrived I dropped my car off after hours on Sunday night, which was so convenient for us, and they promptly started working on it on Monday. They discovered that there was a gasket missing and ordered it. I had my car repaired and finished by Tuesday and they charged me slightly less than the original estimate. Somewhat difficult to write this review... because my wife and I have been taking our vehicles to Alonso's for the last several years. However, I have taken note that over the last few occasions that everytime they seem to find an issue that would cost us an extra few hundred dollars. Took my car in today because the engine light came on. But I mentioned to them that my wife forgot to put the gas cap on properly and I had tightened it this morning. They recommended $600+ in repairs. I declined the service...and the check engine has already gone off (a few hours later) They also recommended I replace the engine air filter....for $191 $191...WTH I drove to O'Reilly's...bought one for $26. Took my truck in for transmission issues. The patched up a leak or two on it, but in the end, my transmission was shot and I have to go get a new transmission. In my opinion, it would have been professional to have explained to me, "look your gonna have to get a new transmission, do you really want to pay over $500 for a leak?" 3 days later, my transmission went out. These guys never explained the fact that they'd charge me over $500, when eventually I was going to have to go get a new transmission anyway. Very quick and efficient service. I got a full synthetic oil change and transmission flush for $208. They were able to accommodate my schedule and get me in same day. I recently moved out here to the Inland Empire and was in need of finding a reliable mechanic. It can be daunting to find one that you trust or that won't gouge you, so it's always a bit of a gamble. What I really appreciated about Alonso's Auto Repair was their point of contact and how pleasant they were to speak with. I felt respected, listened to, and felt like I could describe the plethora of issues with my car to them with confidence. I came for some apparent alternator issues which they reassured me were not the issue, and I had them look at a nagging sensor and cylinder misfire issues that I've also had for a couple years. My dealer and mechanic back home either quoted me exorbitant prices or couldn't get the job done, but Alonso's Auto Repair managed to reassure me of what I suspected was going on. They did it for a very fair price, several hundred dollars cheaper than I had anticipated it costing, and they were very detailed on what was going on and also gave me a detailed run down of the issues when I asked. I know there are plenty of people like me who are weary of mechanics and worry that the services, quality, and price will be an issue, but with Alonso it was anything but. I've certainly found my new local mechanic, and as long as I'm out here, I'll be taking my car to Alonso's for any issues I have. I have no reason to not give them five stars, they absolutely deserve it. My car's battery died and had corroded over. With friends visiting from out of town and staying with me, I needed my vehicle back up and running as soon as possible. After calling a tow truck company, I called Alonso's Auto Repair to see if they had availability to service my vehicle once the tow truck company arrived and could drop my car off at their repair shop. The service manager on the phone was pleasant on the phone and in person. They got the repairs done before the estimated timeframe and my car was working again within a couple of hours of getting it dropped off. Protect your Prius' catalytic converter! Alonso's installed a Miller Cat stainless shield on my Prime, they have them in stock too. No rattle, this is not a DIY job. Franky, judging from what you said it seems what was wrong with my vehicle was lost in translation as multiple things you've stated aren't quite the case. You can say "30 years of experience" as much as you'd like, but if your tech tells me my system is empty, and it's not, he's wrong. 100 years of experience couldn't change that, nor is any exstensive experience really required to objectively prove the info I was given was inaccurate, even if I understand how he reached that conclusion. Upon another inspection, the issue was the expansion valve. These systems can be complicated, yes, but simple maintainence is very doable by anyone who learns a little know-how. It is a disservice to DIYers, and the right we have to repair our own property to simple wave it off with "it's complicated". Good luck with your future business endeavours. read more

I come and get oil changes which is ok the only bad experience I've had here is that I was told I needed new brake pads when I really did not. My sons uncle checked the pads only because I knew it couldn't be that I needed new ones I had just got them done not even a year ago I even took a pic of how thick my brake pads were and they wanted to charge me $210 to replace them. 5 stars for quick and friendly service, and great communication. I took my car in on Monday afternoon around 2 pm for an inspection because dashboard light kept on flickering when I drive. Vidil, the front desk technician (my apology if I spell your name wrong) was very helpful. The next day, they called me at 11 am to inform me about the issues: battery and alternator works fine, it was the battery connection. They found 3 more problems: rears shock suspension oil leak, air filter, and nonfunctional tail lights. Total $499 for everything. read more

Alonso's is amazing, they are incredibly professional and well organized. I've been coming here for the past three years since I attend college nearby. Being a college student with a tighter budget and some bad luck with my car, Alonso's has been great. I've had a couple serious issues come up with my car: they replaced some crucial wiring that had been damaged by a rat, and gave me a discount, they did some difficult work on my passenger airbag and sensor, and I bought new tires from them after one of my old tires blew out, at a discount considering the quality of the tires and the price of nearby tire stores. Just last week, I noticed my roof rack was broken, I took it in and they saw me immediately, they repaired part of it but we found that it was structurally broken and unfortunately could not be fixed. They also topped off my fluids, and did all this for free. Definitely come here if you're in the area! read more

Alonso's has been my car repair choice for 3 years (3 cars) for reliable service, however, they have recently made several mistakes so I can not recommend them. - They mis-diagnosed a bad AC Compressor as an engine noise problem, even recommended the engine be re-built!! - They mis-read cylinder compression tests - telling me they were only 90 to 115. The engine runs fine, so I took it elsewhere and the reading was 140 to 160 (150 is normal. Apply they did not want to work on the car, so I have switch my car repair service to Ed and Als read more

I use to be a frequent customer here for Oil changes. I had them check my car on a loud clicking noise my Prius was making. As per this auto shop my Pruis needed new breaks to remove this clicking noise. I paid about $240.00 for breaks. The next day I realized THE NOISE and CLICKING was 100% still there. I told the rep 'The noise and the clicking is still there. I'm sure your company tossed my old breaks so it is what it is. New breaks not needed but what can I do." Please let the owner know know the noise never went away. His response, Ok. Did the company follow a steps a good company would of calling me back?? Of course NOT. I went to Toyota dealership in Claremont the next week and they informed me it was the Axel and it was still under warranty. They replaced it and the clicking noise went away. They said for them to say it was the breaks, they don't know their stuff. I'm writing my review a few months later. Reason being I don't want people to experience what I did.
