Aloha Roastery - Bakeries Near Me - Lihue, Hawaii

One of my favorite coffee spots I visited during my trip and conveniently located near the airport. Everything's reasonably priced and would definitely recommend coming here for your coffee fix. They also serve a small selection of fresh pastries baked in-house! Just make sure to get there earlier before they run out. Got an iced Mac Nut Latte (w/ almond milk) and I liked that it didn't taste too sweet and had a strong coffee taste. You do get a slight nuttiness, but I didn't really get much macadamia flavor specifically. Still really good though and I'd order this again. Their Iced Beige was also really good if you're in the mood for a sweet drink. It's an iced caramel latte that's blended until super smooth. So pretty much a much better frappuccino. The only non-dairy substitution available is almond milk for an additional $0.50. Lactose-free milk is available as an option as well. read more

Aptly named as there is a lot of aloha at this small roastery only 1 mile from the airport. I had planned to kill time before my flight at the beach, but the weather had other plans. So it was Yelp to the rescue! Great aesthetic, friendly and engaging baristas, and absolutely smooth and delicious cappuccino. So glad it was raining! Tried the kouign amans (sp?) & various croissants. They were very flaky and tasty. I wish the kouign amans were more gooey. My complaint is the total lack of aloha from the 2 workers when we went in. Talk about service without a hint of a smile or warmth. 5 stars for pastries, 0 stars for aloha (ironic as the store name is ALOHA Roastery)! read more

Wanted to try this place out purely for the esthetics: bright walls, open counter, and the smell of coffee. The menu is limited compared to your major chained coffee shops. This is a shop where I would say, you gotta be okay with JUST coffee. Nothing super fancy. But then again, are you a true coffeholic if you need more than there menu? read more

8/19/22 this is such a cute cafe. The decor is minimalist and the menu is simple. I like that there's seating available to dine in. You can sit in 2 opposite corners if your group is larger than 2. Or there's bar stool seating along the glass windows. After landing in Lihue around 7:00am, we headed straight here for coffee. There was already a crowd. Sadly, their cruffins were already sold out at this time because someone had come in earlier and bought them all. But I ended up getting a Kouign Amann which was delicious and flakey. I highly recommend. Compared to Kona Coffee Pourveyors Kouign Amann at $5-6, theirs was a steal at $3.50 My hot cappuccino was excellent also. Everyone in my group enjoyed their drinks and pastries. The workers were friendly and worked hard to get the drinks out. They also have some cute merch and bags of beans for sale. Check this place out! read more

Ended up here on a Monday when the diner we were headed for was closed. Walked in and thought oh no, no decaf today? Then got pastries and something called a cruffin. It is to die for! Amazing. The scone and chocolate croissant also great. But try the cruffin folks! read more

This used to be a great business, clean, nice baristas and good coffee. My visit today was a disappointment. Filthy , water spilled all over the floor, employees never said hello or thank you. The customer service is zero. Needed a lid for hot coffee, all they said was we don't have any. The Wailua shop is 100%. Professional crew, super clean . read more

They have a great mocha there. Great micro foam and a very good balance of espresso, milk, and mocha, The staff was very nice and friendly. At a couple of nearby places, the drink was very thin and watered down. I highly recommend Aloha Roastery. read more

My favorite chocolate croissant on this whole island! Reminds me of my 2nd most favorite in San Fran bc this is now my #1 favorite , so buttery and flaky ! Delicious. My usual order iced vanilla matcha latte and chocolate croissant, perfect morning combo to get the day started. Plenty of parking and easy to find location. Been here a handful of times now during my stay . Friendly employees, easy to order and simple menu . Pastries look fresh and taste amazing, clean environment inside , the place is calm and very minimalistic. Highly recommend. read more

I'm a coffee snob and had a rough start to vacation trying to caffeinate without doing my research. Finally decided to drive to Aloha and I'll be going there every day for the rest of my trip. Their espresso drinks are tasty, and my friend enjoyed their kouign aman. Plus they are fast! The drinks were ready by the time I finished paying for them. For bonus points they can add some gluten free pastry but I'll get my pastry elsewhere if they keep their coffee on point. read more

Cute local coffee shop. My go-to is an iced mac nut vanilla latte ($5.50). Espresso on its own can be a little bitter, but when you mixed in some milk, it's much better. There's also a loyalty program in the form of a stamp card (buy 9 drinks, get the 10th free). Pastry options were a bit limited, but you might just need to go earlier in the day. They also sell branded shirts and tote bags! read more

Minimalist, modern, mouthwatering. Mmm... I've been in here several times to support local small business, but I've failed to post a review. I love that they roast their own beans and have pastries (they're gone with the lunch rush, usually wiped out by noon!). The menu is succinct like most local small batch roasters and cafes. On this day, I had an iced beige. Creamy, moderate strong like a middleweight boxer, but the flavor punches in a heavier weight class. Way better than that Seattle coffee shop. read more

Aloha Roastery has great coffee and pastry options. I tried their macadamia nut latte which was really smooth and my husband had their matcha latte. Recently, I find myself looking forward to early work mornings as I make my way in, knowing that I will stop off here each day that I am on-island. The drinks and pastry offerings are not abundant, but they are all fantastic. They definitely focus on quality rather than quantity. Delicious products will get me in the door, but service will keep me returning. The employees are always kind and welcoming. And... lastly, I love supporting local small business. My go-to drink is their hot matcha latte with honey and the addition of charcoal. Not to sweet. It's my goldilocks of drinks... that I find myself usually walking away with 2 drinks. All I can say is that when I stop by... I know my day will be so MATCHA better. read more

This place is very unfriendly and unwelcoming! No smiles no thank you nothing. Not rude not indifferent it's another word I guess I will use the word impolite. The atmosphere in here was depressing. ((((Zero stars for customer service))) The coffee is pretty good I bought a latte The blue muffins are good I bought 2. 3 stars for Latte 5 stars are muffins. I'm not sure why they don't str the latte with a spoon the women put the lid on and shook it from right to left I had to wait until I got home to str it , it was a lot sweeter after I did. Taste good. I don't know if I will go back maybe .. for the blueberry muffin. read more

Aloha Roastery - Blueberry muffin best I've ever had - Bakeries Near Me - Lihue, Hawaii

For delicious drinks and pastries with a down to earth vibe, go to Aloha Roastery! It's not too much of a scene like some of the spots in Kapaa. The Kouign Amann is one of the best, most delicious pastries I've ever eaten! It is flaky like a croissant but with a carmelized and crisp exterior and a small amount of marzipan filing. The other day we were able to snag a delicious blueberry muffin as well. I tried a Mac Nut Latte with almond milk both iced and hot and they were both on point. The matcha tea is great too! Don't expect overly sweetened drinks here - in my opinion everything is perfectly balanced and done right! Overall really solid spot and definitely coming here whenever I'm on Kauai read more

Grabbed my last macadamia nut latte here on our way to the airport - it's fairly close by, making it a convenient stop for local coffee right before or after a flight. This location is on the small side in terms of available seating but there is plenty of parking. Probably best for takeout orders. If you go outside, the kitchen area where the pastry chef works has a window so you can watch the goodies being made, which is a nice touch. The latte I got here was okay but not great, not particularly strong but very smooth. If you see the kouign amanns in stock, grab a few! read more

Great coffee, amazing interior space, impressive. On par with a coffee shop you'd find in the competitive cafe scene of SoCal.

Great coffee and pastries. Fast. No real seating so it's a grab and go place. Staff not really engaging. But hey coffee is great

The coffee was good, but the people working there were not very friendly. They acted annoyed when asked questions. Will not be going back.

Very bland, borderline rude customer service. The Cortado with oat milk over ice was very bitter--so much so that I threw half of it away. Limited menu. With so much good coffee on this island, I'd recommend going elsewhere. read more
