I'm not 100% sure he wants me to disclose this, but Alfonso from Aloha Restoration responded to my voicemail (a referral from a mold expert) literally 15 minutes after I left it .... on the first Sunday in January! Because he had a full calendar the following day, Alfonso came to the rescue less than three hours later and helped us begin the restoration process right then and there, on a Sunday evening. He is patient, exceedingly knowledgeable, has modern diagnostic tools and explained everything that was happening with our water leak and mold concerns. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! I will post the email I had to send them however; in the meantime now I am finding that stuff that was supposed to be packed up, put in storage by Aloha Restoration was not done & now I have over $7,000 & counting in missing property! Aloha Restoration were the ones that packed away my items & now this stuff is no where to be found! Two missing bookcases that are well over 6 feet tall, an entire computer desk, over $2000 in missing unopened toys, unopened DVDs that were collectors items & as I go through the stuff they packed up I am finding more & more items missing... To Aloha Restoration....After reading the below it is clear that at this point you will need to discontinue work at my home at (address removed). When you came to my home for the water restoration on May 15, 2022 you advised me that you had a brother that could put my home back together exactly how I had it. You advised that your brother would do the work & that on occasion you may help. You took it upon yourself to begin work at my home without authorization nor approval from myself as we only discussed your brother taking on the job. Note I have never met nor heard from your brother. I tried to have multiple contractors come in & provide me with a quote however, since you had begun work at my home again without my authorization or approval, I was unable to secure another contractor as they advised that they would not be able to complete work on top of someone else's work nor insure the work that was done behind you. This left me in a bind as you had again started work without my approval or authorization. The only authorization that was given was for water restoration. Against my better judgment I agreed to paying you since I could not find another contractor to complete the work without starting all over again. The work you & your team have done are below subpar. To email me that you would not be able to complete certain items to my satisfaction is an understatement. I informed you that the floorboards don't touch the wall & to this day some walls are missing floor boards all together. You said that the floorboard not touching the walls was "due to the walls being uneven". Then I informed you that you were the one that did the walls. You then assured me that this would be fixed & yet this is one of the items that you mention cannot be fixed to my satisfaction. The walls were cut down & put back up by you. You did not ensure an even coat of texture on the walls so, every wall you touched has an uneven amount of texture that is substantially noticeable. The liquor cabinet is uneven & one corner does not touch the ceiling. I clearly mentioned to you on numerous times that I wanted my cabinets to be exactly how they were (wood, height & width). You assured me that everything would be exactly the same & yet they are not. You mentioned you gave me extra cabinets when I never asked for extra cabinets. The cabinets you put in are not the same material, size nor height as my previous cabinets. My bar stools cannot hold a person & fit under the countertop at the same time. The granite countertop also has a huge indentation underneath that is noticeable as well. It is definitely not installed as my other granite countertop had been. As my previous granite countertop did not have this huge indentation. I had wood cabinets that you replaced with plywood & particle board. The upper portion of the cabinets are smaller hence the ceiling lines that you state in the below weren't part of the estimate. It would not of had to be part of the estimate had you of provided the same material, size, height & width that I previously had. The cabinet above the refrigerator now has a dent in it & your fix was to cut them down so now plywood/particle board is visible. My son's room & every room you painted is missing paint in areas as well as you can see white throughout the walls still to this day. Every item you listed as completed is not or is subpar & not up to the equivalent of what I previously had. To add to this list all single cabinet doors open in different directions & we can't open the cabinets above the refrigerator. We are at the 6month mark & you're still not done. You took it upon yourself to begin a job that: 1. You were not hired for 2. That was out of your expertise & experience The insurance company advised me that your numbers were fraudulent & that they would not be paying for anything else unless an engineer came out to inspect so, there will not be any reimbursements sent as the insurance company is denying the claim as fraudulent. They have also suggested to me that prior to paying you anything else that I should take a good look at your numbers. At this time I am inclined to believe that your numbers are fraudulent & that you are trying to significantly over charge me. read more
