It's so sad to me that I have to give this Tustin location a 1 star. I went in the restaurant and ordered as usual: Chicken Katsu. The time was after 5pm. I sat down and waited. My food came out but I was so disappointed because: 1. The chicken was not fresh, was reheated. The chicken slices were not chunks of the usual meat but 3/16" of one inch! 2. The cabbage was also not fresh but perhaps kept on a warmer. 3. No air conditioning at all, just a water cool fan. And to top it off, they still charged me the same price! I felt robbed and deceived. I've been to another locations in Santa Ana on Bristol and the Anaheim on Brookhurst. No complaints there at all. The meat and cabbage are always freshly made. So sad.... read more

Leftover for days! No complaints either, because their food is delicious. And if you haven't guessed, their portions are huge. Our boxes were rubber banded together so the food doesn't pop out. Boy, were we impressed with how much was inside. Even better, their food is delicious. I ordered their Hawaiian barbecue beef. It was so good! Flavor on point, meat nice and tender, and love their macaroni salad. Hubbie got their chicken combo which was also very good. We ordered by phone ahead of time, and they let us know our food would be ready right away. Picking up was no problem, and our food tasted warm and fresh back at home. First thing first...the portion here is always large. I would have to eat one portion in two meals. Ordered the chicken combo with both bbq chicken and katsu. The katsu has one eaten fresh since reheating the katsu makes the breading not as tasty. The service is quick with plenty of seating indoors and out to have lunch there at the store. All of the packaging is for taking it as a to go order so you don't have to ask for any containers for the leftovers. read more

The platters all include macaroni, rice and veggies (cabbage). There's a number of combinations that can include chicken, beef, fish (Mahi) and other items. We have often ordered the shrimp, fish and chicken combo, and always find there's plenty for leftovers. At about $15 and above for each platter, it is good value as well. The beef combo that includes beef ribs and beef is one of the best values you can get for this quality of meat anywhere in the area. Food comes out quick and it's all delicious. The katsu, fish and shrimp are deep-fried but I still appreciate that it didn't taste like it was dripping with oil, just crispy and tender inside. The shop can get crowded so at the peak times, you may need to wait for a table but not long. For groups of more than 6, you likely need to sit separately as the tables are not movable. Staff are good, and it never felt dirty or uncomfortable, just a great place to visit especially convenient if you want to shop at nearby Walmart, Lowe's or Costco. read more

We also got the beef noodle soup, I know this place does noodle soup, and it was a great deal! I made the drive out from L.A. to eat at a place that i remember providing quick service with quality food. I felt wronged by the quality of food i recieved. The chicken in the chicken katsu was almost non-existent; a very thin (as thin as my chopsticks) and dry chicken jerky with a thick layer of bread crumbs. I have never experienced a time where it tasted worse or better than previous and it is always a good sizable meal. They give you so much food they need a rubber band to keep your box closed. I also got the Spam Musubi which comes with two pieces. This food is well worth your money.
