Molly loves her new hair cut!

Molly loves her haircut ! She is so happy Naoka groomed her so nicely. Thank you!! I will see you again soon.

This one is AFTER her groomers appointment. Can you see the difference with her left eye.

I gave this place 2 stars because the front desk girl (the Asian one with the blonde hair and cut bob) was really sweet and nice. We tried this place because they had good reviews AND it's like a 5-10 minute drive from our condo in kakaako. My one year old Pomeranian needed a cut and we decided to take her here. The groomer was nice, although I could barely understand her and it was so loud in there with all the dogs barking. She cut our baby's fur the way we wanted it... not too short on the body, keep the tail trimmed, and can cut around her face shorter. She did just that. Our baby looked so cute. I loved it... initially. Fast forward to about 20 minutes after we got home. I was looking at our dog... her left eye seems to be smaller in appearance. It looked like she was struggling to keep her left side eye open. After further examination, we saw that her left eye was swollen. IT WAS NOT SWOLLEN WHEN WE DROPPED HER OFF. It is noticeably irritated and looks a bit sore for her. We are going to take her to the vet tomorrow to find out EXACTLY WHY it is like that. I recall the groomer mentioning something about our dogs eye being dry. I know I asked her 3 times to repeat herself because I couldn't understand what she was saying and because it was a bit loud in there. I'm thinking she (the groomer) either cut her eye, or she was wiping our dogs eye so roughly that it severely scratched her eye and made it extremely agitated. I'm not sure how I feel about this place. As of right now, I do NOT recommend bringing your fur baby here UNLESS you KNOW the person who is grooming your dog. Please see pictures of BEFORE grooming and AFTER. take a look at her left eye.

Irritated paw pads from buzzer. 3 out of 4 paws.

I have a one year old pup that I am trying to find a nice quality groomer for. I tried aloha dog for the first time in YEARS and sad to say I was disappointed. When I first arrived outside they all just stared at me as if they didn't know they were taking a grooming that morning. Someone finally came out to welcome me and consult with me. I told them I wanted a round puppy face and trim his hair about an inch. When I came to pick him up, I automatically pointed out several things wrong with his cut. First of all, I was shocked that they were done in an hour. And yes, it looked like a one hour job. They didn't listen to me at all when it came to his face. You can see the buzzer lines down parts of his body and straight up from his chest to the chin (no round face like I asked) instead, he has pointy cheeks now. Basically, uneven buzzing and not the round face that I asked for. Seemed like a $50 rushed job. I also noticed his paw pads were SUPER red and irritated (picture doesn't do it justice). My dog is a shih Tsu maltese and he is a super calm loveable dog so he's not hard to groom and haven't had any complaints with past groomers. I've had shih Tsu/lasa ahpsos my whole life so I do know a good cut from a bad one and notice all the details. I'm very disappointed with the quality and work from this salon. they lost a potential customer. I wish I read some of these reviews before I went in.

Teddy Bear style by Hae (Hey)

They got a new groomer, her name is Hae! She did an awesome job on our toy poodles. The groomer messaged me a week ago before the appointment, asked what kind of style do I want for my babies. All staffs are super friendly and communicative, the place is clean, no smell, your dogs will be very well taken care of! Thank you for the great job and treating my pooches so well!

I've gotten my puppy Maxwell groomed here twice. I don't remember the name of the lady who trimmed him the first time, but this time Gio gave my doggy a great summer puppy cut. Each time has been a great experience and my dog is always so relaxed with his tail wagging when I pick him up! This is only Maxwell's 2nd time at the professional groomer but Aloha Dog always somehow keeps him calm. I ask for the haircut, anal trim, ear cleaning, paw shaving, and nail trim. I have a very tiny dog (4lb chihuahua shih tzu mix) and I was worried at first because he does not like strangers... but every time Aloha Dog tells me Maxwell did a great job. I am surprised but I will take their word for it haha.

Finally! A pet boarding and grooming shop located right in the heart of Ward area. Aloha Dog is behind ALTRES and next door to Wrenchy's Auto mechanic. The staff was very friendly and as I entered the lobby I see happy doggies roaming around freely, Aloha Dog is a cage free boarding company. It's very clean inside and prices are very reasonable. Go check them out!

Uneven by the snout. Right side is cut more...

Picture is worth a thousand words. Face by the snout is uneven. Much shorter on one side... Need I say more? I think not! P.S. Not clear in the pic, Loki's ears are uneven as well. Woe is my dog!

Love Aloha Dog! Everyone is so nice and kind here, and our puppy always comes out with such a cute haircut! He's kind of skittish, which makes it more difficult to groom than other puppies (I'd imagine) but they still manage to do an excellent job. They even take a cute picture of him after he's done! You get a 10% discount if you book your next appointment within the next 8 weeks at pickup.

I normally take Kobe to a different groomers closer to my home however, they were booked out 2 weeks. A girlfriend of mine took her dog to Aloha Dog and her dog had an adorable grooming so I thought I'd try it. I mistakenly parked in the lot next door but no one complained. Now I know that you can pull right up front. When you walk in they do doggy day care so there was a bunch of dogs in there. I only noticed when I picked up Kobe a dog that kept on barking. I told myself it would drive me crazy like Chinese water torture if I had to hear that barking all day. Anyway, Kobe was really happy when I picked him up and the groomer said he did really well and stared in her eyes the entire time. I got 20% off for our first time grooming plus another 10% off for the next time if I booked his next appointment within 8 weeks. Done! If Kobe's happy, I'm happy and he really liked his groomer so I reserved her for next time. I also read in other reviews that if you go through the evaluation then 2 hours after full grooming is free for the day care side. This is helpful if you are running late. A strong Yay to try out Aloha Dog.

Just like finding a good veterinarian, when you find a good groomer, you stick with them. Manami and her staff continue to provide excellent doggie day care and grooming for our precious little pomeranian-papillon. There weren't as many dogs in the daycare area 5 years ago, but that just means that more people are bringing their dogs to Aloha Dog for daycare or grooming because of word of mouth or good reviews. We've even left our dog overnight when we went to Aulani for a weekend and our dog was wagging her tail when we picked her up. There's a large picture window at front of door where owners peek in when picking up their precious pups. It's so funny to watch all the dogs turn towards the window and start barking. But when your dog sees you at the window, she hops and spins around and gets excited knowing that you're there to pick her up. Keep up the good work, Aloha Dog! Mahalo for taking care of our Buttons.

Post hair-cut Milo!

Aloha Dog is an awesome place to get your dog groomed. My long haired chihuahua, Milo, was long overdue for a grooming--especially with all the covid craziness. He was a little scared when I left him, but he does have a bit of social anxiety. He was sooo happy when I came to pick him up and he looked adorable!!! I can't help but smile when I see him with his new cut. Bonus: he smelled like a puppy after.Bring your pup to aloha dog, you won't be disappointed!

I can't say enough about the care they give the dogs entrusted to them. Her nails are always trimmed. Her ears are always cleaned. I've never had her vet call out that she needed additional attention. This is not a doggy day care business. I text for an appointment, drop my Mimi off and receive a text when she's ready for pickup. I luv the pictures I get with each appointment. Grooming for my furbaby takes two hours which gives me time to do the errands I need to do at the neighborhood business. She does big dogs too! I'm never surprised to see a family of four labradoodles (standard) at the shop for their monthly groom too.

The best part is usually after a groomer appointment, Peanut disappears and hides because she had so much trauma, but she came home and it was like nothing had happened. She was a little tired, sure but she was bubbly, ate her food, and even did her tricks which was HUGE! We will be returning!! Thank you ladies!! Side note- they take CASH so be aware of this!!!

Our new addition is a 2 1/2 year old golden doodle rescue. In one word she was a fluffball. We were told she would need to be brushed regularly. And we tried to the point of making our new dog miserable. She had matted fur under her curls. Fortunately, we found Honolulu Dog Spa. I sent a request in the night before and received a reply in the morning. They were able to get her in the same day! They did let us know that her fur might have to be cut really short. However, we knew she needed it. Not only does she look fabulous with the super short fur she was so happy! Obviously Honolulu Dog Spa made her feel comfortable. Which was very important to us. We can't thank Honolulu Dog Spa for the excellent service, professionalism, and most importantly the fantastic care they gave our fur baby! Mahalo!

We live in town and…read morewe're looking for someplace for our fur-baby, 3yo German shepherd terrier mix, to stay while we were gone. We were looking for a reputable place who would care for our pet as if she was home. Someplace she would feel safe since we know she has anxiety issues and is really shy around strangers and may be aggressive if provoked. We tried leaving her with family, but because of her temperament, they suggested a boarding care. She is great with their dog, but they too were looking for boarding for their pet. And because they go to a pet daycare weekly, they were sending their pet to their favorite pet daycare. So while I was searching a came across Happy Puppy Kingdom. The website and instagram pages showed doggies having fun and their prices were reasonable and their care packages were affordable. We made contact through Yelp and on to our introductory appointment. We also were able to provide Kamalani's vaccine records. As certain vaccines must be given in order to book the appointment's "meet and greet". The Owner, Sophia, was so caring, gentle, and loving towards Kama. She talked to her and built a trust for us and Kama. So we started to take Kama for weekly visits starting in January 2026. We knew Kama was going to be reluctant to go because she hasn't been around other dogs a lot and only family & family pets, and knew getting her used to HPK may take a while. As the months went by she started to know which days she got to go visit "her friends". We literally asked the day before if she wanted to "see your friends!"" And she would get so excited. Jumping up, wagging her tail, looking around for Miss Sophia. And when I'd drop her off she can't wait to get out of the car. In April we did the first overnight, and it was hard, for us. Constantly looking at the clock, expecting her to greet us at the door, and her hugs and kisses...nothing!! But she did great!! HPK said she didn't eat the food we provided, so they gave her their homemade food & she really enjoyed it. So when the days came for us to leave we knew Kama was in great care with HPK. We got pictures and videos of Kama when we were away. And it turned out, our in-laws also sent their 7yo hybrid poodle, Mochi, there too. And they said Kama protected her when she was scared. When we came to pick them up they were so happy to see us!! We know Happy Puppy Kingdom took such great care of our fur-babies and that this is a loving and caring place to leave them if we ever plan another trip. Sophia reassured us and gained our trust & Kama loves her too!!!

I knew that whenever I needed to travel, he would likely do better in a boarding environment than with in-home care because being left alone was especially stressful for him. With that in mind, I started looking for a boarding facility that also offered daycare so he could gradually become comfortable with the environment before any overnight stays. I found Happy Puppy Kingdom through Google and was immediately drawn to the fact that they specialize in smaller dogs. I also appreciated that Sophia requires an assessment before accepting new dogs. When I brought my dog in for his assessment several months ago, he was quite nervous. Sophia was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding as he adjusted to the facility. She kept me updated with photos and videos as he gradually inspected the facility and settled in. Now my dog absolutely loves his weekly visits to Happy Puppy Kingdom. I brought him for daycare once a week for three to four months, which helped build his confidence and familiarity with the staff and environment. When the time finally came for his first overnight stay, he had a fantastic experience. I cannot thank Sophia and her team enough for keeping my baby safe, happy, and well cared for while I was away. Sophia is friendly, caring, and genuinely passionate about the dogs in her care. It is clear that she and her staff are dedicated to creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where dogs can thrive. I highly recommend Happy Puppy Kingdom to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming, and fun place for their dog. My dog has come such a long way since I adopted him, and the Happy Puppy Kingdom has played a huge role in his development.
