It was this past Sunday and I was with 6 of my friends. We were looking for a place to watch the Pats game and I gave this place a call. Cowboy answered the phone and arranged for all of us to be accommodated. He waited on us as well. It was the most fun and interactive dining experience I have had in some time. The most watered down drink I have had since I moved here, average food, and a really cranky waitress. I only have one drink of straight tequila when I go out and I know exactly how I feel with one. Late lunch on the way home. We started with Fan Favorite, an ample platter of onion rings, chicken fingers, potato skins, and fried green beans with sour cream, honey mustard and ranch sauces. Everything was great. Having never had fried green beans, which seem to be a favorite in the area, they were a few special treat, especially with the honey mustard sauce. This place was amazingly good, the magic dust onion are a most to have, you have never had onion rings like this! I had the Bacon and blue cheese hamburger....omg soooo good. We are from Florida and was so excited to find an off the beaten path place like this! Cute little local place worth the stop. Food was great, staff was sooo friendly and you feel like you've stepped back i time! Oh and did I mention 2.50 bud drafts all the time!! It's my first stop when I travel to the White Mountains. Great Burgers and home style foods. Decent beer selection, great full bar and every Friday they have the Simon Crawford Band rocking the house with guest artists, dancing and it's a great way to kick off the weekend. This is not a hoity toity gourmet restaurant. It's a down home pub restaurant that caters to locals and new and old friends. Everyone will feel welcome there. read more

I have driven past this place a million times but finally stopped to check it out last week. It was great!! It's definitely not fancy, and it's a little loud but they have a cute little outdoor patio. They have home made onion rings that were absolutely delicious and a decent menu with a lot of choices. Had a couple great burgers here. There were several choices for burgers and sandwiches, plus a lot of other menu items. For the burgers you could get fries, onion rings, sweet potato fries, or something called corn fries. We had the onion rings and sweet potato fries which were good. The onion rings are skinny ones, which I like. The staff members were friendly, the service was good, and the beers were cold. Definitely a great place for lunch! read more

Loved our waiter, he went above and beyond even when we were the last people ordering dinner. We came after a hike and were both starving and thirsty. He brought the two of us a huge pitcher of ice water which was super thoughtful. He ended up choosing my meal for me because I couldn't decide, which was hilarious. I was handed a burger, told it was gluten free, only to realize it was not after I took a bite of it. I'm very sensitive to gluten and will likely be sick for days. My friend's food was also subpar. Thanks to Yelp for introducing us to this awesome restaurant! The food was good and the service was great! We went on Saturday night and the place was packed. We were guided into a parking space by the "parking natzi" and thought we would have to wait for a seat. The hostess/server went out of her way to find us two seats together. We sat close to the bar with some local regulars. We received recommendations for dinner and both ordered burgers. We ordered medium and while they could have cooked for just a little longer, they tasted great. Both fries and sweet potato fries were tasty as well. Entertainment included a band which got the place up and dancing. We would love to go back again if we ever make it back to the area. read more

Very bad experience being shut off after having one drink. I was the designated driver for the night and ordered one drink, the rest of the night I drank ice water and even ate a meal. While I was on the dance floor the waitress came over to the table and told my boyfriend that he could order drinks but I was shut off. He was clearly stunned as he was the one feeling the drinks and told the waitress that she was mistaken and I only had one drink and In fact was driving. She proceeded to say I was to small to drink so much. Clearly she was mistaken, I think she thought my H2O drinks were gin and tonics as that was what I had previously ordered. Which by the way are measured pours and watered down. The next day my bf called the bar and talked to the manager, and they looked at the receipt and said I actually had two drinks with a meal in three hours. Wow. This place was way out of line and refused to apologize, management actually sided with the waitress, but said it should have been handled differently. Made me feel like a drunk and unfairly judged for no reason. There were a few people that I witnessed that night that were clearly drunk, one guy even fell down and was still allowed to keep ordering beers. Local favorites? We enjoyed going there and my bf is a biker and took a lot of friends there. They lost our business and ruined what were enjoyable Friday nights. read more

Horrible food. Horrible service. Okay pricing. For those of you who'd like my in-depth review: This was probably one of the WORST experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. We had gone to StoryLand for the day, and were starving on the way home. We were looking for something not-too-expensive, tasty, and had a variety, given that we had my 10-year-old nephew with us. When we saw the sign "Great Food, Great Prices!" we were sold. That was our first mistake. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken, so far so good. Our waitress (who hadn't introduced herself to us yet and they don't wear nametags) came and took our drink order (waters for all three of us, plus a beer for myself and my sister), she came back out with everything and asked if we were ready to order (still no introduction). We weren't so we asked for a minute. We had finally decided a few minutes later and she came back to take our order (again no introduction). My sister and I both ordered SIDE caesar salads, with dressing on the side. Now most people (especially those who work in the industry, like both my sister and I) would assume the salads are going to come out first, before the meal. 20 minutes later, we hadn't gotten our salads. All of our waters were empty at this point and our waitress hadn't come by to refill or even ask us if we needed anything. Didn't even come out to the patio, where we were seated. Now we went on a HOT day and we were all super thirsty. My sister went inside when we still didn't have our salads 5 minutes later, to ask if we could get our salads first, while we're waiting. My sister was about to pass out from hunger. Our waitresses response? "I don't know." Rule #1 in food/customer service: You NEVER say "I don't know." My sister comes back outside and sits down, thirsty and starving. Our salads come out about 5 minutes later. I get a full ENTREE-SIZE caesar salad, and my sister gets a side GARDEN salad, caesar dressing on the side. Not at all what we asked for. My sister said something to the waitress about her salad and her response was "Oh I thought you said salad with caesar on the side." Not "Oh I'm so sorry let me fix that for you right away." like she should have said. It was completely rude and filled with attitude. She STILL hadn't introduced herself. I had to wait for the table behind us to ASK HER HER NAME. I didn't say anything about my salad because 'Macy' was so rude. Finally she gives my sister the right salad and brings a pitcher of water while saying (with an attitude of course) "Here, because you drink so much." Both of us had ordered a steak meal (she got tips, I got the fajita wrap) there was NO FLAVOR AT ALL to the steak. I've never had steak that has no flavor. I don't even know HOW that's possible. I ate about 3 bites and couldn't eat any more because it was akin to eating cardboard. I suggest going out of your way to go somewhere ELSE if you're in the area. Hell, I'd rather go to MCDONALD'S right up the road. At least their food has some flavor. If it was possible, I'd give this place ZERO stars. read more

We decided to stop here for lunch and to kill some time as the road to North Conway was closed due to a fire. We would have been better off if we had waited. This place is first and foremost a bar with a pool table right in the middle of the dining area. Food seems to be an afterthought. My wife ordered a salad with chicken. The chicken was fried and appeared to be preformed, breaded and frozen for a quick flash in the fryer. The greens were warm and close to wilted. I had steak tips. The meat looked like beef on the outside but didn't have the "grain" if you cut one in half. I suspect the dreaded meat glue. The marinade was not very good. Our nephew wanted fries with his meal but the waitress could not tell us if shellfish had been fried in the same oil. He has a shellfish allergy. He is not one to complain but he only ate half of his meal. It was clearly not to his liking. If anyone in your party has a food allergy, I'd be very cautious as I question their knowledge. Our visit occurred on a weekday but was clearly understaffed. The cook ( I'll refrain from using the word chef ) was also bussing tables and our waitress had her priorities mixed up. We waited for quite a while to pay and leave while she also bussed tables. Two of the staff mentioned how everyone raves about the place and how good the food is. They are a bit delusional in my opinion. I'd move the pool table, hire a competent cook and additional staff, create better menu items and fill in the crater lake in the driveway. I wish I had better things to say but in all honesty we were very disappointed. read more
