Either the waitress or the bookkeeper cheated me. My meal, according to my Visa slip, cost $8.62. But when my Visa statement for that month arrived, the charge was $9.00. I called Visa. It's only 38 cents, but it's the principle! I asked Visa to note that the restaurant uses shady business practices. She said she'd tell her supervisor. I ordered a BLT. It took more than 30 minutes to arrive. The woman sitting near me at the counter looked at mine, decided it looked good, and ordered one too. Hers arrived in less than 5 minutes. Sports themed casual Atmosphere, pool table in dining area plus a small bar. Rustic feel good service, is lunch time on Monday with only a few patrons. I've been here several times over the years. From what I know, it's a place of loud music and it tends to be packed with people. The last time I went there, I found no place to sit down. It can be fun, but speaking strictly for myself, I do not go there alone. It's the same as any other bar room where people are drinking. Awesome, awesome, awesome! The food is yummy- try the onion rings, totally legit. The staff is what makes this place though. We had an Irish cowboy who happened to be a magician, serving us and he made it his mission to delight our son. He totally wowed our six year old who is still talking about our waiter who went to Hogwarts (Harry Potter reference). We will be back for sure! read more

This place has the best burgers I have ever had!!!! My boyfriend and I look foward to our trips up North because we know "Almost There" will be a dinner destination when we arrive. After reading another review I too noticed our waiter managing a one man show, and doing it rather well. The only reason I give the 4 rating instead of a 5 is the atmosphere, it could be a little cozier in the "restaurant" area. Overall, awesome place to get a burger!!! read more

The food was great and server was good but clean this place up! When you do not want to touch things cause you can see finger prints from everyone else then there's a problem. The first time I went to Almost There Restaurant was in December of 2012 with a group of about 7 people. The service was horrible, waiters/waitresses were forgetting what we ordered and not bringing out things we asked for, all while being extremely rude and cold to us. We did not have one sole waiter/waitress, but instead had a new person come to our table every single time something came out, whether it be our food, drinks, checking up, or taking our order. I could understand if it was a very busy night, but we were the only party in their dining room. At the end of our meal we asked to split up the full bill into three separate bills. I understand that we should have asked the waitress at the beginning of our meal, but with a new waiter/waitress coming every single time it was hard to relay the message to them. After we asked for split bills, the waitress who was currently at our table got so mad at us that she raised her voice at us and pretty much forced us to pay one bill so she didn't have to go through the trouble of separating it. The only saving grace from this experience was the food; everything about every one of our orders was amazing. I decided to give this restaurant one more shot, since the food was SOOO great (and maybe the dining room staff just had a bad night the last time we were there?) on July 6th 2013. When we got there we were seated right away since there were only a handful of other parties in the dining room. Our waitress immediately came over and right away we told her we would be getting separate checks, she was very polite and asked what we wanted to drink. When she came back with our drinks she had gotten 2 out of 4 wrong. We decided to suck it up and keep what she brought and go ahead to order our food. For our food we got very simple menu items, two of which were salads, and ended up waiting 1 HOUR for our food!!!! To top it all off, there was a group of people sitting next to us who had been waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF!!!! After the whole ordeal, when we were getting ready to leave, another waitress scoffed at us again for splitting the check. (Which I'm almost positive it only takes a few minutes to do, AND every time my friends and I do it the waiter/waitress walks away with a much bigger tip than if the bill wasn't split up, so Im not really sure why it was made out to be such a huge hassle.) In the end, as good as the food may be at Almost There Restaurant, I can certainly say I will never be going back there. I have never experienced such horrendous customer service as I have at this restaurant. read more

I went to Almost There for dinner on a Saturday night with a bunch of friends during our get-away in Conway. We waited an hour and a half for four plates of food. People who walked in 20 minutes after our group had finished eating before we even received our food. The waitstaff was unprofessional, slow, and downright rude at times. When we finally received our food, none of our orders were correct. The burgers and steak tips were all well done even though we asked for medium. When we brought the errors to their attention, the took some of the food, but never returned with the correct order so we had to remind them that some of us were still waiting for our food. Another waitress came to help out the apparently clueless one that we were assigned. She was obviously angry, sighing as she took our plates and cursing in front of us about the kitchen staff. The man who appeared to be the manager had come over when we had just about finished eating our overly cooked food and apologized for the service and offered us a single free dessert for our entire table. We declined his offer seeing as how by the time we got our check it had been almost two and a half hours since we arrived. I also find it worth it to mention that the majority of us incurred symptoms of an unpleasant nature later that night. Suffice it to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant on our future trips to New Hampshire. read more
