Alma is the owner and stylist. Her lovely daughter rubs the jewelry section. Sometimes Alma's son is also there helping out. If you want to support a successful family owned and run business, look no further. I've had my hair cut there several times and yesterday I had Alma color it because I'm going back to in person work. (Not easy reaching the back of ones head!) What a nice result. She matched my favorite hair color using products which cover the gray better. I was out within 2 hours. And no DIY mess in my bathroom. Alma is pleasant to talk to. The shop is neat and organized. They used the incorrect piercings for ears (they used some type of thicker gauge piercing for your body) , were extremely rude and disrespectful, and did not care about the condition of the piercings. This used to be the place I would come for my hair, but the lack of professionalism Alma, the owner has demonstrated has made me search for a different place. She does not honor appointments so don't bother making one, and if you make one in the morning expect her to be at least 10 minutes late. There have been multiple instances where I would be waiting and she would help someone else who got there later than I did. Keep in mind this was with me setting up appointments. She wouldn't even acknowledge me or let me know she was going to help someone else. She will even stop halfway through with working on someone to help someone else that got there later. Also don't expect to be done in a reasonable amount of time. She takes longer a standard haircut should take. So be sure to clear up your afternoon to get a haircut. I've gotten all 3 of my piercings done here! I've gotten a septum, an industrial, and my earlobes pierced. All of those times Monica was very professional with me, explained the healing process, and helped me during the painful parts of the process (aka the needle going through). The piercings here are extremely affordable! $40 for my industrial, $40 for my septum, and $30 for both earlobes. A very good price compared to the tattoo shops in Napa that also offer piercings! They also healed VERY well and I should know as I've had my earlobes pierced 3x with a nail gun and they never healed right. (Go figure right lol) You should definitely give this place a shot. DO NOT GET PIERCINGS HERE, When my friend and I went in to get piercings there were so many red flags. We were not asked for our age, we were not asked to show ID, and we were not given consent forms!! My friend got 3 cartilage piercings, and the jewelry is obviously incorrect. The gauge is huge, like it was meant for another body part. She would not stop bleeding, and the piercer didn't even try to clean the blood up afterwards, she was in so much pain she could barely stand. I got my belly button pierced, and she pierced it so far inside my belly button that the jewelry flips inside. Absolutely not okay! We asked her to take it out, and for a refund, and they were extremely rude, many of the workers ganging up on us telling us we were wrong, and that we were disrespectful, and only gave us half a refund! We went to another piercing shop for help and they said it was done completely incorrectly, and that the jewelry was absolutely not meant for the ear. This place deserves ZERO stars. I rarely write reviews but people should know just how disappointing this place is based on the pedicure I received today. Where to start... When I walked in there were no customers. I was lazily greeted by a woman sitting in her salon chair who seemed like she wanted nothing to do with me. Not only did they scramble to find all the necessary items needed to do a basic pedicure, the owner walked to the back filled hot water into what looked like a trash bin and poured it into where I place my feet. I should have tapped out right then and there before being further disappointed, but I stayed despite my better judgement. The woman who did my pedicure, although very sweet, seemed to have no idea how to even do the basics. Barely cleaned my nails, left so much excess nail polish on the sides that I had to go home myself and redo the entire thing. I told the owner I was not happy with the outcome and that they shouldn't offer nail services with people who aren't experienced enough to even do a half decent job. She looked so confused when I pointed out all the extra nail polish on my skin. Despite all that she still charged me. What terrible customer service!!! Bottom line I will NEVER be returning here when I could have done a better job myself. read more

My scheduled appointment called in sick. Monica stepped up and did a fabulous job on my hair. I rarely give reviews but I feel Monica deserves a five star review. She has an eye for hair. She quickly picked up on what I wanted done. I have short hair and have had a hard time finding someone who gets my hair. After trimming my hair as I asked she quickly made some suggestions. One of the suggestions was to thin an area of my hair that I always have complaints about. Monica is the 1st hairdresser that caught it and corrected it. This place deserve zero stars, I went this Monday to get some highlights. She applied some bleach and apparently the bleach didn't work and my hair turned out orange. After she told me to come back on Wednesday and she would fix it, when I got there in Wednesday afternoon she reapplied bleach to the orange highlights and made my highlights a color between white and gray. And she still had the nerve to charge me more than she was supposed to. I had to go with another stylist to get my hair fixed. read more

I got my nose pierced at Galaxy and it got infected. They put some hook in my nose and the guy that pierced me didn't have his mask on correctly. When I called them (Galaxy) to help me, they blew me off and blamed me. I went to Alma's Cutting Edge and got it fixed by Monica. She explained to me how wrong my last piercing was and what I needed to do to fix it. I got clear instructions on how to take care of it after and when I called two days later about a related issue, Alma answered right away and helped me out. I highly recommend this place. The pedicure wasn't what I expected. They don't have a pedicure chair, I sat in a regular chair and she brought out what people use at home to soak their feet. The water got cold very fast. I told the lady I had shellac polish on my toes, so she proceeds to file off the polish. Not only did that hurt, but from the constant rubbing I got a cut on one of my toes. She didn't scrub my feet, shape my toe nails, or attend to ingrown nails. When it came time to polish my toe nails she had me put my feet on the same towel that had been used throughout the whole pedicure, you can imagine how wet it was. read more
