STOP LYING TO CUSTOMERS. I never write reviews, good or bad... so this should say something. I am new to town, and I was liking this place! My line is drawn when a place of business/employee within takes advantage of my kindness. I understand that because I am kind, I seem like an easy target to scam me or just outright not give me the proper care/attention. Soooo I ended up having to pay for the repair, and it was also horribly done. I would have happily paid $5 if that was TRULY the rule... but clearly it's not, since I only came into the shop for repair because I was told otherwise. Guys. That is so extremely rude. And scammy, if you ask me! I would rather wait a few days and get a fill than pay for repair AND a fill. PS: I paid the $5 and I still tipped, and I was kind as I always am. But I did double check that I had been given "wrong information" just to see if this employee would redeem himself of the lie and agree that it is in fact supposed to be free within 30 days. Nope, he still wants to charge me. Really this review just comes from me being sick of being taken advantage of by businesses. I will call them out every time. Once the nails are done, they know there's nothing you can do except agree to pay, unless you want to cause a scene. Even if it is totally messed up of them to get you to come all the way out of your way to their shop just to repair one nail, thinking that "it's worth it, because it will be free!" Beautiful, clean spa. The music was a little off for the atmosphere. My friend and I went in for pedicures. We both left satisfied, especially for the price. We opted for the $40 pedicure but they have one for only $26. Their prices are competitive with the nail salons in the area. Although I have received a better quality of work at Top Nails, my regular go to, I'm still satisfied and will go back and try them out again. I wish Allure offered a Rewards program like a punch card as many places do. Update: I've now been here twice. Both times I wasn't asked if I wanted a cut down or what shape I would like. I've been here a few times now and every time it's been such a pleasant experience. To start, it's beautiful atmosphere and the staff are very organized. I love the complimentary beverage with any service! I've always been seated very quickly and the service provided has always been top notch. The staff are extremely kind and cheerful. They do try to up sell you on pedicure packages but that's to be expected from any business. You know what you can afford so just decline if you don't want any upgrades. Worst nail experience in along long long time. This girl has completely anni my cuticles on my toes. I've not had that done in forever. The alcohol is burning every toe on my left foot. Ugh Well I've moved on to the nail girl and she is not 100 today. She has hit my cuticle on one nail more then once and had the audacity to ask is she hurting me? Hell yeah! We've now moved on to gel polish and this is not going good at all. The finished product looks worse than the nails I brought in there they only had growth. Previous the review I started last month after my bad experience but because they attempted to make it right I didn't post it but then yesterday happen... This place is trash. So last month I went in and the pedicure tech cut my feet up so bad. The nail tech sent out looking worst then when I came in. I returned and showed my nails to the owner and he re-did them and while they looked better the top coat immediately started peeling. While I had no shine the color remained good and he did give me 10% off my next service and since I had just dropped a bill I figured that was good as they did perform a service and I wasn't looking for free. Fast forward to the return trip. The pedicure tech was better but did nip one toe . The nail tech pure trash! So I decided that I would not indulge in the gel polish this month only to find out they charge 5.00 to remove the trash gel polish they previously sold me at an upcharge of 30 dollars that immediately started peeling off in less then 24 hours. Now mind you I said I was give a discount from the previous month fiasco... I present my discount card and instead of doing the math and taking 10% off she took 10 dollars off I paid the lady and then she realizes she f*cked up and came back for her 4 dollars. Agh no ma'am! I paid what you told me now kick rocks or take it out your cash tip but my cc will only be charged 48 dollars and if there is more I will be disputing the entire charge! So be aware that there products they use are subpar. They must order their stuff from wish.com or somewhere. The pay shipping only line and the charge you 30 dollars for it. I say find you another spot! Oh and never ever request a drink from them because you may get hoof and mouth disease from them. They ask you what would you like - get up go make it - return and hand it to you. He applied a pink-toned top coat to white nail polish, turning my toe nails pink. When I asked him to change it he made a big fuss about it. I was in a small bridal group (3 people) which is why I did not make a scene but she gladly took my money knowing she did a horrible job. She continued to push services on me despite saying no. He was very thorough and did a great pedicure even though the gel polish machine was faulty. but my fill-in done by Beth was rushed and done as quickly as she could possibly do it. This is a lovely nail salon located in West Mobile. I visited for a shellac manicure and was in and out in less than an hour. Allure is very clean and takes the time to sterilize each item they use. This was such an awesome experience at a nail salon! My cousin recommended this nail place after going herself. She recommended the $60 dollar pedicure(cannot think of pedicure name). At first I was like wait ???!!! $60 bucks??!! But after going now I know why! I called in ahead, to make a reservation and the receptionist explained the nail tech I wanted was busy (believe her name was Sally, my cousin recommended her too) but would be ready in 40 minutes. I hopped in my rental and headed to my appointment. When I arrived the receptionist greeted me, checked me in, and asked what would I like to drink. They offer soda, wine, or mimosas! Mimosa pleazzzz!!! After I got checked in I picked my nail color and headed back to the nail area. At this location they line the pedicure sinks are lined with plastic liners for sanitation. My technician greeted me and we begin! For the $60 dollars I got an experience I never had before! She put some solution in that turned my water into jello feeling, then it went to a sandish feeling. It. Was sooooo amazing, I wanted my feet to stay in it all day long! She worked on my toes and then I got a rub down with hot stones and a bamboo stick!! It was the wonderful message I needed!! I usually go here for my pedicures and it's always been good, but this time it was so bad. I'm assuming it was a new lady but she did my pedicure okay- the fact that she cut an "ingrown" on the side of my big toe without even asking if I had one (which I didn't) and pulled it out so deep that I started to bleed. Now, i'm in so much pain and my big toe is swollen red and foot is starting to feel numb. She did not put any antiseptic or antibacterial on it to even relieve the pain or prevent infection. As for the tools, she was really rough on me after while using the cuticle pusher and nipper. This place has a lot of potential... it's beautiful and LARGE! The pedicure chairs were SO comfortable and the iPad technology is super cool...however, I had some minor issues... despite being nicely greeted upon entering, the front counter was lined with about a dozen, half empty, 2-liter soda bottles, which looked kinda tacky & cluttered...they appeared to maybe still be moving in ?? so that could be different now. The next thing, which really bugged me, was the fact that even though I was the only customer in there, the manicurist thought it necessary to give me my mani DURING my pedi, which didn't allow me to just RELAX during my pedi because I had to steady a pillow on my lap and constantly give her this hand, then that hand and back and forth. It made no sense! I did not enjoy my experience, which is unfortunate, b/c I really wanted to like this salon despite it being a trek from my house, I would drive the distance to this location. And a third thing, I had to have my pedicure re-done within a week b/c the polish literally chipped off, through no fault of my own (my pedi's ALWAYS have to be re-done due to nail growth, NOT ever b/c of damaged polish) which indicates to me that the nail was not prepped properly before the polish was applied. I hope this is taken as constructive and not as a bashing, b/c like I said, this place is new and has potential and these issues are completely fixable. read more
