After this weekend, now she is stuck with me forever! I was already a fan of hers, and then she did my niece's hair and makeup for prom a few months ago. And WOW! She did an amazing job. My niece looked like an angel, or a model. So that solidified my opinion on where to go for special events. Then, this weekend, my daughter, my niece and I all needed services. I needed a Brazilian and a haircut, and my teenage girls needed cuts & colors. We invaded on Saturday and were there pretty much all day. And we actually had so much fun! Honest to God, I have paid 4 times the amount that we paid here for just my daughter's hair. Both of the girls look fan-freaking-tastic, and I love my hair as well! We all walked in with photos of what we wanted, and Rhonda listened, advised, and worked with us, so we all walked out with everything we wanted! The girls' hair looks amazeballs!! Especially my niece who had severely damaged her hair with non-professional dye jobs, WAY too strong bleach, and years of teenage experimentation and neglect. She walked in with fried, unhealthy, muticolored hair, and walked out with long, beautiful, shiny healthy hair that looks super natural. We have all three gotten several compliments on our hair. My mother even said she was calling soon to have her hair done. I will never go anywhere else, for any other service. I'm officially Rhonda's stalker!

I immediately pull up Vennesse Spa to bookmark on Yelp, and literally almost choke and die on the hardest gasp I've ever gasped! Honest thoughts: Holy Crap! A 1.5 rating (at the time)??? OH NO -- they must be giving people nail funguses and burying them in the back! That's NOT the place for me! (I literally said this to the girl who recommended it, and she (a stranger) said, "Trust me and ask for Vivian!" Well, in the spirit of "fool me once..." I called ahead and set up an appointment with Vivian, who just-so happened to answer the phone, and prayed for the best! I walked in bracing myself and left skipping with glee! Vivian was a sweetheart from start to finish, she took great care of me, offered me a drink, she's quiet and focused while she works (I like that), slayed my nails (I love her paint and file job), and helped me sign up for Perka Points (their loyalty app to earn points for $ off of a future visit)! Thankfully, my first visit to Vennesse was a WIN! Onto visit #2: I've been traveling, so a lot of time has passed since my first visit to Vennesse. I called back for Vivian and was told that she's on vacation until next week. (God why?) At this point, my nails are horrendous and I can't wait another day. Although I did remember the 1.5 Yelp rating that totally freaked me out before my first visit, I trusted God to have my back (he always does) and asked the "nice girl" (Kathy) who answered the phone to book me. Shortly after starting my service, Kathy shared that she's Vivian's younger sister. I felt better immediately and rightfully so as Kathy's great also! She's very focused and quiet while working (similar to Vivian but almost OCD and I love it)! This point is important to mention as during both visits, I noticed that the staff here is quite chatty amongst themselves. This doesn't bother me at all, but I do prefer that MY service renderer not be distracted while wielding the drill. Kathy (like Vivian) was definitely locked in, but also had the perfect balance of conversation and local food suggestions to throw out-- got a few new bookmarks off of her today! Well yet again, Vennesse didn't fail me. I'm reporting back to say that it wasn't a fluke-- I'm 2 for 2 and I like it!

You can call ahead and make an appointment (can't do that at my usual place either) if you are wanting to get in and out. The girl that was working with me today was fast but paid close attention to making sure she filed my nails to match each other with length and shape which I can really appreciate. After I reached out they said she was on her way but couldn't text me because the app was hard to get a number from and she was driving. But she was actually a passenger and either way should have called a manager for them to reach out to me, I digress...) But I can honestly say I have never had such a disappointing and painful experience in getting my brows waxed. To be fair, the shape is fine. However, I am 3 days post wax and have dried scales of skin underneath my eye brows. It is still trying to heal from where it was ripped/burned and I am having to use makeup to cover up the redness on my brow. It still burns to even put moisturizer on my skin. Furthermore, in a complete first, my eye LIDS were swollen the day after my wax because they put the wax all the way down into the crease of my eye lids and ripped and aggravated the skin. Never had anyone do that. I assume it was because she was 25 minutes late for my appointment and 10 minutes late for the person after me so maybe she was rushing? I think she left the wax on for too long and put it in inappropriate and delicate areas. Either way, I can't recommend their services for brow waxing, not sure of other services they offer.
