Especially not for places where I have something as personal as a Brazilian Wax done, but after going to Jessica once I keep her cards in my purse. If you are a woman, you know that, oddly, along with a good hairstylist, woman look very hard for great wax technician. Jessica is it! The shop isn't fancy. However, she knows what she is doing. There are some things you really want the person doing it to make sure that they know what they doing. She does. I live forty-five minutes from the place, and I still drove over there. I have held off on writing this review for a few days because I didn't want to write a review based on my initial experience, which wasn't great to begin with. (The person was late and I never got a call to tell me they were even coming. After I reached out they said she was on her way but couldn't text me because the app was hard to get a number from and she was driving. But she was actually a passenger and either way should have called a manager for them to reach out to me, I digress...) But I can honestly say I have never had such a disappointing and painful experience in getting my brows waxed. To be fair, the shape is fine. However, I am 3 days post wax and have dried scales of skin underneath my eye brows. It is still trying to heal from where it was ripped/burned and I am having to use makeup to cover up the redness on my brow. It still burns to even put moisturizer on my skin. Furthermore, in a complete first, my eye LIDS were swollen the day after my wax because they put the wax all the way down into the crease of my eye lids and ripped and aggravated the skin. Never had anyone do that. I assume it was because she was 25 minutes late for my appointment and 10 minutes late for the person after me so maybe she was rushing? I think she left the wax on for too long and put it in inappropriate and delicate areas. Either way, I can't recommend their services for brow waxing, not sure of other services they offer. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I was scheduled for an appointment in early April with Jessica. However it was canceled due to COVID19 regulations. I prepaid her in March for the appointment. I was rescheduled 2 more times when regulations lifted once with Jessica and again with an apprentice/student of hers and I was canceled just before each appointment with no attempt to reschedule. I have had to dispute the charges with my bank because she refuses to refund me money for services I never received ! read more

I had a bad experience the time I went. I left after my treatment and look on YouTube and found out that the machine wasn't even turned on. I went back my next appointment and told the girl she smiled and I was going to talk to you about it. This is the @+÷%; store. I was scared to lay the table. I've been getting waxes for several years and have used Jessica for the last year or so. Jessica is the best I've gone to since my first girl moved, and I've tried many others. I start going to Jessica because she was highly recommended by several people I knew despite seeing all of the negative comments about her cancelling appointments and not fulfilling their purchase. You have to pay for the service before you get the service. I should have known this was full of crab. I only got services and I paid for 8. Every time I schedule an appointment, she will cancel the day of, like an hour before my appointment and will text the cancelation and you don't hear from her again until you attempt to schedule another appointment. She is overall a good person, but her working skills far as consistency with clients is horrible. She should trained her workers to use every piece of equipment in her spa. Yes she might have the best prices but she is not consistent. I guess they say "you get what you pay for. I will not recommend this spa to any of my friends because of the owner's inconsistency. read more

I saw Jessica today after needing a Brazilian wax and reading all the glowing reviews for wax'd. At first, the wax was great. She was talkative, made quick work of the initial areas, and really seemed knowledgable. But when she switched to the green hard wax, things changed. The wax was SO hot, and it felt like it was burning my skin....not really the feeling you want on such a sensitive area!! She told me to breathe and relax and that I was "fine". Really? YOU'RE telling ME that I'M fine?? Hmm, ok. If you've ever had a Brazilian before, you know that more than a few applications of hard wax are needed to clear everything up. So, round two with the hard wax and again, it's too freaking hot. I'm literally writhing on the table in pain telling her to stop and she keeps telling me "just breathe, you're fine"! No sympathy, no "I'm sorry"...she made me feel like there was something wrong with ME. Worst $75 I've spent in a long time! read more

I highly recommended Jessica after my first visit. Very friendly and thorough, so I made another appointment. This time around was an absolute nightmare. Towards the end of my wax, I started to feel more pain than I normally do. My face was entirely red when I left, as usual, but by the time I got home I realized my chin was still in agonizing pain. I look in the mirror and it looks as if I have been burned. Not only had she left many spots on my face un touched, she butchered my chin, taking layers of my skin off. I know this because I have done it to myself at home with my own wax, which is why I went to a professional in the first place. I don't know if I caught her on an off day or what (she seemed in a hurry), but I will have to spend the next week in pain, so much that I can't even put makeup on over it because the pain is so bad. I have tried calling numerous times with no answer which is why I turned to the Yelp page. She noticed as I was leaving that my face was red and tried to blame it on a new face wash I was using but that is clearly not the case. There are layers of my skin missing from my chin and half of my lip and I have taken pictures every day to show it is definitely not from any kind of face wash. Disappointed isn't even the word because my first visit was awesome! I don't know what happened this time but I guarantee I will not be back, especially after my calls have been avoided. My father is a physician at Mobile Infirmary and I called him after this happened since I tried calling her so many times for help with no answer. He said this is clearly from waxing over the same place more than once, which NO professional should ever do. And anyone that calls themselves a professional knows this is one of the biggest rules to waxing. Waxing over the same area of skin twice will cause serious pain and layers of your skin taken off. There is absolutely no excuse for this. I also find it funny that she couldn't answer my calls for 2 weeks straight but called me to make sure I was coming to my next appointment.... After reading a number of reviews, I bit the bullet and made an appoint for my (first ever) Brazilian wax. Jessica was very accommodating and was able to work me into her schedule on short notice. I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing (it IS a pretty intimate experience to have with a stranger after all), but Jessica was personable, professional, thorough, and quick. After messaging Jessica for weeks on Facebook, Instagram, and her phone, she finally answered me in a comment on a post she made on Instagram. I made an appointment with her through Square up, it was 4 weeks out bc she was booked, how Idk bc I had been checking every feed days as I was messaging her. On the day if she text me saying she needed to move me up or change to the next day. I immediately said as in what time, she didn't answer. A little later I text I need to know if I should come earlier or later, no response. A little later I say I cannot come the next day, no response. An hour before my appointment I text I haven't heard back so I will see you at my appointment time. She answered "I'm going to have to cancel. That's it no apology. I say when can you get me in, no response! That was over a week ago. I just found out she did the same thing to another client a few weeks before but that person already paid and was waiting on a refund for weeks. Idk if they got it. Idk what is going on but even if you have an emergency you can apologize and eventually text back a new appointment time! read more

They have great waxing here, the problem is scheduling an appointment. You must make sure you have an appointment. I was told to come in two separate times between 12-2 that they would be there. The first time I called before I left and there was no answer and decided not to go. The second time I went and I waited outside the shop for 30 minutes - the doors were locked and no one was answering the phone. This was all during their business hours. I was having problems finding a good waxer and finally did, but I can never trust that they will be there. read more

I walked in and was immediately greeted by name! Something so small that made a huge difference. The environment is dimmed with music playing, very relaxing. I'll leave another review once I get my nails done. This location works by appointments only right, so my appointment was at 4 for a full set I wasn't in the seat until 7! Didn't leave until 9. I've never spent 5hrs trying to get my nails done. No point of booking an appointment if you over book yourself. Time is valuable. I recommend booking an appointment early in the am if you want to get in and out for nails by babiee. read more

I came here by chance while visiting family in Mobile. I normally get waxed every 6 weeks in Las Vegas, so I've been to a few salons and thought I knew what to expect. Well, Jessica has now made me question the skills of every other aesthetician I have ever been to! It was the least pain I have ever experienced in a Brazilian, and the redness subsided much more quickly that I have experienced with other salons. After the weekend, I called her to discuss what happened and she said that she must have forgotten the appointment and that "it happens." Unacceptable. I received a groupon for a massage at Wax'd as a gift... A red flag went up when I called to make an appointment and after leaving two messages I never received a call back. I called a week later hoping for a better result and finally someone answered, they were very short w me an simply stated "I'm not at my scheduling book right now, ill call you back" and the hung up. I never received a call back. Well two weeks went by and I was moving so I was going to give it one last shot to try and use the groupon or try and get the money back because if I wasn't given this already paid for massage groupon they would have lost my business by that point. Finally I called again and was able to book an appointment. Upon arriving the place looked dark inside there were no lights on and there was a car beside me in the lot with the girl on her phone and smoking. I went inside to find no one in there and then about a minute later the girl from outside in the parking lot came in to greet me. I think they had just opened because the walls were bare and the glass case that the register sat on was empty. Anyway so when it came time for my massage I was told to get ready etc and she would be right back. Well 15 mins later I was still laying there waiting, I even got up to to check the time on my phone because it felt like forever and I really wanted to just leave at that point especially after everything else. The massage itself was good, I felt she was informative about areas she was working on but our massage was occasionally interrupted by the ads on pandora since she was using that for music. Overall it wasn't great but not bad... I just feel the amount of weeks it took for me to get a hold of someone and the time I had to wait to be greeted as well as wait for my actual massage to start was not worth it and very unfair. Hopefully by now the business is up and running and some of those kinks are worked out. (No pun intended) read more

I had a similar bad experience. I bought a groupon and made an appointment which took several calls to get someone on the phone. When I arrived the place didn't look open, but the door was open. A few minutes later someone came from the front door and greeted me. I've never had a wax before so the technique she used I had nothing to compare it to except I thought Brazilian wax meant no hair down there at all. But that was not the case when I got home to check everything out. Also, she poured hot wax on sensitive parts that didn't have hair on it (ouch) more than once which was the most painful part. When it was time to go for the next visit for my groupon I couldn't get ahold of anybody on the phone so I ended up going somewhere else even though my groupon paid for two waxes. The other place I went was much better and had different techniques so it was less painful and I was hair free. They even had body scrub to help with In grown hairs unlike Waxed just told me to use a cheap rag. The body scrub has helped a lot more. read more

After scheduling an appt in advance and driving a hour one way, Jessica did not show for our appt time nor did she call or text to let me know she had to cancel. I called 5 times and sent numerous text messages while I was waiting for her to show after the appt time. I then asked the gym front desk if they had any contact info for her and they stated she was a no show for clients at least once a weekend. They also stated she would not be there in their location much longer due to the enormous amount of complaints. I wasted $40 in diesel driving 2 hours to Mobile and paid a babysitter. I will never recommend this place to anyone else!!!! And she also posted effective Oct 1st the garbage about being prompt for appts and cancellation policies. She should practice what she preaches. I was looking forward but very anxious about getting a brazilian wax for the first time. This event really put me out of time, $$$, and patience. read more
